Rep King: House Won't Defund Obamacare Because Leaders ĎAfraid' GOP Will be Blamed for Shutdown

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) says that Congress is not going to cut off funding for Obamacare or Planned Parenthood because House Republican leadership is afraid of the threat of a showdown with Senate Democrats and the president – they’re afraid that Republicans would be blamed for a government shutdown.

King said the House GOP leadership, if asked, would say that they did pass a repeal of Obamacare – and would blame the Senate, which didn’t take up the measure.

But King also said House Republicans “didn’t use the leverage that we should have used.”

“We didn’t bring up the maximum leverage because the decision was made by leadership to avoid the prospect of a showdown with the president or Harry Reid that could result in a potential shutdown of government,” King told CNSNews.com in an interview.

“And that rationale – and it wasn’t my rationale – is what brings us to this point -- that we’re still funding Obamacare to the tune of $23.6 billion dollars in the first two years, we’re trying to find $1.2 trillion in cuts, there’s $1.379 trillion in cuts that are there automatically if we just cut off the existing programs within Obamacare and resolve the problem with the Super-committee,” he said.

The GOP is truly inept. Even with the existence of the Internet, these idiots still haven't figured out how to do an end-run around the media so they can get their message out. And because of their ineptitude in this area, they then make cowardly decisions like not defunding Obamacare because they're afraid that Democrats (and the Democrat media) will beat them over the head with it. This, or they secretly agree with Obamacare and don't want it to go away. Either way, the GOP is headed towards its demise if they continue down this path.

" It was never going to be repealed with a 'rat senate and a 'rat president. "

Yes, that is true, but the rhetoric and campaign message was mostly about repealing Obamacare.

The election of 2010 was only phase 1. We cannot get to phase 2 without phase 1. If they don’t repeal it after phase 2; then I will throw in the towel as you have done.

“Fear is the most powerful negative motivator.”

Anybody over 70, or who loves someone over 70, should be afraid:

“Mark gets an excellent call from a neurosurgeon who gives an inside look on what exactly Obamacare will do. For example, instead of patients, some people over a certain age will be considered, “units,” as they try to dehumanize patients and the care they receive.

.....

“Ehics panel = death panel will decide your fate. Neurological physician on Levin’s show said HHS won’t allow brain surgery for people over 70 (probably in 2014).

How do you like being called a unit rather than a person?

Mark Levin’s staff verified that the caller was who he said he was, a neurosurgeon.
