"... My guess is that most Freepers will be on Tebow’s side on this one. One might only guess how they might react if (when?) a player starts giving thanks and praise to Allah."

Well, it hasn't got to go that far. Tebow says in every post-game interview that he credits his success to Jesus, does his Tebow kneeling prayer in the end zone, then holds a cross-team prayer meeting midfield after each game.

I understand those who say that they could do nothing without the Lord, but what happens when some outside linebacker sacks Tebow so hard and puts him on the inactive-injured list for the season? Is it cool to kneel down midfield and credit Jesus for guiding the way to crush Tim Tebow like a bug hitting a windshield and shattering his knee?

Most won't like it, and why should they? Islam is anathema to American values. Christianity was central to our founding.

No one needs to become a Christian. You may think so but others don’t want to be told they are going to burn in hell because they don’t accept Jesus. (This is especially true about we Jews).

Tim Tebow then they won’t. If they choose to interview Tim Tebow then it is Tim Tebow they get. Plummer can go get stuffed.

My thoughts exactly. Christians are always demonized for doing what Christ told them to do - preach the gospel. And, in AMERICA he has as much right to say what he believes as the OWS bums have to not bathe and sleep and pee on the ground. If people don’t like it, tune it out - that means team mates.

No, but like Kurt Warner did, he’s giving thanks to God.

Jake “The Snake” Plummer should keep a low profile considering that he was mediocrity personified during his playing days. As xzins mentioned, it’s a free country...at least for the time being.

Btw he was accused of fondling three women at Tempe, Arizona, night club in 1997 and got two years probation plus a fine for it.

I believe anyone has that right. If it offends you, sorry. However, there is no right not to be offended.

Is he telling people they need to become Christians? If so then he needs to cool it.

Are you serious?

That is who Tebow is. If they want a Tebow interview and bring in the cameras, then that is what they are going to get.

Interview anyone and you'll get who they are.

But this guy, you want him to change. Why?

Plummer’s view I will use my freedom of speech... to tell Tebow do not use his.

Think he will do the same if it was say a more “activist and violent fatih ?”

Is he telling people they need to become Christians? If so then he needs to cool it.

Is he using the power of government to say so?

If not then he is free to say what he wishes and those who oppose this freedom need to read the posting guidelines on the front page of Free Republic.

I like Tim Tebow. I’m thrilled Tim has already had a lot more success than his detractors claimed was ever possible. Otherwise, I’m not following the story closely enough to verify what Tim may or may not be saying in post-game interviews.

Same reaction, “Congress shall make no law...” and all that other good stuff (Also needs to comply within the conduct standards established by the NFL that is controlled by private ownerships).

I wonder what Plummer would say if he preached a liberal cause after every game?

Plummer, screw you. He's not preaching and we have freedom of worship in this country.

Plummer’s right. What we need is more NFL’ers getting caught dogfighting, shooting up HGH, murdering people outside of nightclubs, and selling beer.

We also need more college athletes for top tier schools selling game jerseys, buying grades, selling their services to Auburn. We need more college coaches raping 10 year old kids in the shower too, except they shouldn’t use the school’s shower, they should use their own PERSONAL shower. Much more of that.

We’re all so very tired of positive role models in sports. Tim Tebow maintaining his virginity and pulling off miracles nearly every week is, well, boring.

Jake Plummer. EX-quarterback.

In secular America, it takes more courage to profess a Christian faith in public than it takes to face down a thousand pounds of snarling defensive linemen. I don’t share Tebow’s religion, but I sure admire his guts.

There is a time and a place for it,but not during an interview after a game.

Why is that? Seriously.

If Tim Tebow is being interviewed after a game then the network has concluded that the viewers want to hear him express his thoughts and feelings regarding the outcome of the game. Tim Tebow tells us that his thoughts and feelings always involve the presence of his living Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. That's just how it is for Tim Tebow. How could Tim Tebow possibly express himself in that moment while ignoring the One who created him and gave his life meaning?

I don’t follow Denver, and I expect Christians to be scorned and worse ‘cause my Lord said that would happen.

So can somebody tell me? Does brother Tebow preach after games? Or is it just that he is known to be one of the brothers that people are reacting to?

He isnt giving praise to Allah, he has every right to but it’s those who are attacking him who would sing a different tune if he praised Allah.

How dare anyone criticize someone for simple religious faith, while we have “role models” promoting drugs, sex and every kind of idiocy and filth imaginable.

You would not have heard a public complaint against Muhammed Ali every time he thanked “the honorable Elijah Muhammed” after his fights.

I completely agree, or if he praised Gaia, gays, Michael Moore, etc...
