Iowa conservative group Family Leader won’t endorse Cain, Paul or Romney

A key Iowa social conservatives group announced Tuesday it will not endorse former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney or businessman Herman Cain, but is still evaluating if it would back one of the other candidates.

The Family Leader, which hosted a forum that six Republican candidates attended last Saturday, said in a statement that its board had narrowed its choices of an endorsement to Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Texas Gov. Rick Perry and ex-senator Rick Santorum (Penn). The statement said the group would not consider endorsing Romney, who the group criticized for skipping its event.

The group said it opted against Rep. Ron Paul (R-Tex.) because he does not support constitutional amendments banning gay marriage and abortion, and said they had concerns about Cain on “life, marriage, foreign policy, and presidential readiness. “ Both Cain and Paul had attended the forum

I can see Bachmann, Perry or Santorum, but NOT Newt!

Newt's original support for ESCR is disturbing. Then again, Newt has never been known for being a social conservative.

So, outside of Newt, they’re only willing to endorse those candidates that have signed their pledge? What a surprise.

They might be having a problem with Cain being pro choice. I quote Cain on abortion, Oct 2011.

"So what I’m saying is, it ultimately gets down to a choice that that family or that mother has to make. Not me as president. Not some politician. Not a bureaucrat. It gets down to that family. And whatever they decide, they decide. I shouldn’t try to tell them what decision to make for such a sensitive decision.

Not sure if this is still his position, since his positions seem to be in constant flux.

Why wasn’t baby Jesus born in Iowa?
Because they couldn’t find three wise men.

Why are there fences around Iowa’s football fields?
So the cheerleaders don’t graze during half time.

Why is Chicago the Windy City?
Because Iowa sucks.

Gosh, which do you think was the tipping point that disqualified Cain? Ironic that Presidential readiness was last on the list...seems to be true for Cain backers, too.

Of course, we have a President now who wasn't ready for it, so what harm can one more do? Right?

You are a liar. That Cain quote was regarding whether a family would choose to give an unplanned child up for adoption, not whether to abort it.

The problem might be you taking a statement out of context. You know very well, that this was Cain's statement on weather a family should keep a child AFTER IT WAS BORN that was conceived due to rape or incest. You have lost all credibility by your use of deceit.

You’re dealing with the “na na na.....I’m not LISTENING....na na na” crowd.

Also the “Oh YEAH, well (insert name of any other candidate) is a fraud, RINO, traitor, Liberal who’s secretly Pro-Choice, hates America, and wants Socialism” crowd.

The echo chamber is air tight; you’ll get no play on your very credible concerns and points.

So,if Cain is deemed not ready to be president, who is ready? Who is your pick? Also, comparing Obama to Cain is like apples to a five course meal. Cain has actually had a wide variety of experiences that make him very well rounded. Obama has never held a job that did not depend on the government handouts.

The family leader has very little sway when you consider thay list one of the reasons for disqualifing Cain as family and marriage, but give Newt a pass. I think there is other reasons behind their decision they don’t want to disclose.

The quote you provide was in answer to a question about whether he would force her to raise the child, not carry it to term. It was edited out of the video in most cases to make him appear to answer in a way that would hurt him.

They might be having a problem with Cain being pro slavery. I quote Cain on selling children into slavery, Oct 2011.

"So what I’m saying is, it ultimately gets down to a choice that that family or that mother has to make. Not me as president. Not some politician. Not a bureaucrat. It gets down to that family. Don’t worry. He refused to sign the SBA Pro-life pledge.

But the kicker was he said NO to the Fetal Pain Legislation.

Some have questioned whether this would stop Fetal Surgeries.
The answer is NO.

“So,if Cain is deemed not ready to be president, who is ready?”

Newt is ready. And my choice. And the best candidate we have.

I never compared Cain to Obama - I have no idea why you think I did. Well, except for being woefully unprepared. I said if we put Cain up, in a general election, we would get Obama. America will not elect Cain. Speaking of qualified, why is Cain qualified?

I still haven’t read anything that makes him more wualifed than Santorum or Perry.

Yeah a link to a selectively edited video that edits outs part of what Cain said in the interview

Notice you selected edited out the part where Cain says to Morgan "You are confusing two issues" in order to fraudulently mislead people to believe what Cain is saying is linked to the earlier question about Abortion

Of all the Newt Cultist, I least expected this sort of sleazy lying behavior from you.

This is a thread on the Family Leader quickly ruling out Cain. My take is Cain making pro abortion like noises in an interview on CNN. I submitted my evidence to support that supposition, ONLY after reading nothing but smear Newt posts up until then.
