CAIR: Santorum would racially profile Jesus

The Council on American-Islamic Relations was not pleased by Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum’s call to profile Muslims as a way to combat terrorism during Tuesday night’s GOP debate on CNN.

Answering debate moderator Wolf Blitzer’s question about whether he would support ethnic or religious profiling, Santorum replied that Muslims should be profiled.

Santorum explained that he would support profiling “the folks who are most likely to be committing these crimes.”

“Obviously Muslims would be someone you’d look at, absolutely. Those are the folks — the radical Muslims — are the people who are committing these crimes by and large,” he said. “As well as younger males, I mean these are things, not exclusively, but these are things you profile to find your most likely candidate.”

CAIR took offense. In response, the Muslim advocacy group called on the Republican Party to repudiate Santorum’s remarks.

Jesus’ sacrificial death was the antitype of all the Old Testament sacrifices. He was foreshadowed in the book of Genesis in numerous places. He was the true Lamb, the true high priest, the true temple, the true scapegoat. There are over two hundred Old Testament prophecies fulfilled by Christ.

One important way that people in the time of Christ could identify Christ as the Messiah, was that his words and deeds did not contradict the Old Testament, but instead fulfilled it.

The New Testament was pointed to by the Old Testament - and of course the New Testament makes reference to the Old Testament throughout it’s text - and they reference each other in such a way that neither contradicts the other. There is in neither, however, any reference to any future teaching or testimony that will be delivered by any future prophet - the only prophecy yet to be fulfilled is regarding the final return of Christ. Of course, there are diverse eschatological interpretations, but none have anything to do with new prophets, divinely inspired Scripture or religions.

With the number of prophecies fulfilled in Christ in such a perfect way, it becomes obvious that through Holy Scripture and prophecy God does not withhold from his children what is essential to their salvation, but instead provides it. We are given the Word of God so that we might know how God wants us to worship and obey him, certainly not so that the text would leave us incomplete in these areas.

There is simply no exegetical basis for any other text claiming to be divinely inspired - since not only is there no recurring theme of some new text different prophet to come, none is even mentioned throughout the whole of the Bible. The koran and islam are simply not mentioned in Scripture. Therefore, they and any other book or teaching that comes along and claims to be another new teaching of God is false and a heresy. The Old Testament is loaded with examples of false Gods, idols, teachings, and religions and is abundantly clear that the children of God are not to worship or believe in them.

Exodus 20:

“1 And God spake all these words, saying,

2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

13 Thou shalt not kill.

14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.

15 Thou shalt not steal.

16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.

18 And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.

19 And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.

20 And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not. “

And later in Deuteronomy 4:

“1 Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.

2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

3 Your eyes have seen what the LORD did because of Baalpeor: for all the men that followed Baalpeor, the LORD thy God hath destroyed them from among you.

4 But ye that did cleave unto the LORD your God are alive every one of you this day. “
