Cain Surges to Retake National Lead
email from Herman Cain Campaign | November 26, 2011 | Herman Cain

Edited on 11/26/2011 10:02:42 AM PST by Admin Moderator. [history]

Dear Patriots and Supporters,

My family and I enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving together on Thursday. After spending so much time on the road recently, I was thankful for the time to spend with my wife, children, grandchildren and friends.

I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving as well.

I am excited to share a recent Rasmussen (conducted November 21-22) which shows me retaking the lead nationally with 26 percent support. I am leading Governor Romney and Speaker Gingrich by 3 and 12 percent respectively.

The American people want a true conservative in the White House. They are tired of career politicians who are more concerned with getting reelected than fixing the problems that are plaguing our economy.

I have the solutions, and the American people are lining up to show their support.

[mod edit to remove campaign contribution solicitation]

I pray you and your family enjoyed a great Thanksgiving yesterday. We Americans have so much to be thankful for.

Thank you and God bless.

Sincerely,

Herman Cain

PS- We will be releasing an exciting new video series this Monday. I will be previewing the video this Sunday on CNN’s State of the Union. Be sure to check your local listings

...these numbers strike me as a bit pre-mature.

But given Newt’s meltdown on Illegal Immigration, I do expect Cain to, at least, be tied for the lead within 2 weeks.

I was puzzled by your response, since we seem to both be for Cain.

Do you realize my post you responded to, was not to you to begin with?

Conservatives will not support a candidate who thinks its dandy to legalize illegal aliens and give anchor babies rights they shouldn’t have. I’m against incentivizing illegal immigration!

Border security and economic prosperity go hand in hand and frankly, any Republican candidate running for President who does not understand this has no business running for our nation’s highest office.

I want a President who puts America first.

Does that include not sending American factories and jobs to communist China?

Just asking.

Consistency please.

Yeah, if you're not supporting him for the nomination. It's definitely worth it if you're supporting the more electable, conservative, anti-establishment republican in the race though, which I am. Herman Cain has great chance at winning this, because when he slumped a little in the polls it wasn't a dramatic drop based on a weak illegal immigration stance, and insult to his supporters like Gingrich and Perry. Cain will more than likely win now that we have had two candidates destroy their campaigns by insulting Conservatives on the same issue, which is just pathetic. The general election will be easier than the primaries for him in my opinion.

I see what happened that we ended up at loggerheads about:

I lifted your reference to the poll, in my response to TBBT who seemed to be saying it was a recycled old poll.

You saw your own reference in my post, which was intended to refute TBBT’s claim it was a dishonest old poll reference, and presumed I was criticizing you - in fact I was using your poll as a reference, to disprove the other poster’s point.

Simple confusion. My apologies for any misunderstanding. We in fact are on the same side.

This is not news. It’s a spam campaign email asking for money. Other posters who posted a campaign press statement got a big admonishment from the admin mod.

Did Rasmussen, or did Rasmussen not conduct a poll November 21-22, showing Cain taking the lead?

If Rasumessen did, it’s newsworthy.

If you are challenging the veracity of that claim, then please say so.

Thank you in advance.

I don’t post much anyway. This sounded like news either way. Either it’s a bump in the polls or they don’t know how to read a poll. News either way.

Does anyone know when we are going to see the first fairly respected polls since Gingrich insulted all of us? I know it will be sometime next week before we start seeing the average from the most respected polls, but when will get some first glimpses of what the trend may be?

Rasmussen is one of the very most respected polls.

Bar none.

Just pointing out that another poster was admonished for putting a campaign press release in news. This is an email that was soliciting money. It’s not a news source. That is the only point I was making.

I don’t care if it’s posted or where it’s posted. I do call out double standards when I see it. ;)

I was pointing out to the mods that they got on another poster for posting a campaign press release as news. I really don’t care if it’s posted or not. I just think if one person gets admonished then it should be done across the board for all posts.

HEY THERE EVERYONE !

who I hear saying things like “has a chance”, “could be elected”, “electable”, “chance of winning”.

America has never worked that way. It’s just never been a part of a true American mindset.

George Washington did not take up the cause because he like the Colonies’ chances.

The defenders of the Alamo did not decide to fight because they liked their chances against the Mexican army.

Andrew Carnegie did not get up in the morning as a young man and bust his @ss because he liked his chances at founding U.S. Steel.

The most adventurous venture capitalist would never have bet on the Wright Brothers - seeing them in their printing business in the early 1890’s - designing and building the Wright Flyer I.

Compromise and mediocrity have brought America down, and will continue to do so until she turns away from them and again towards truth.

America can handle a leader like Obama who everyone knows is against her, since Congress is more responsive to the will of the people than he is. But when a Republican President is elected - it will be to actually restore America to truth. If that Republican President simply continues the corrupt “Fall-of-Rome” style politics that we have now - that will cause far more damage that Obama could in the White House with a completely disagreeable Congress.

Wake up, I just made some coffee - smell it ?

And I say it’s newsworthy.

If I post in breaking news that my toy poddle just ran outside. It’s one thing. Not big news.

If I post in breaking news that my toy poddle just ran out and was carted away by ET, that’s newsworthy.

Cain taking the lead in a Rasmussen national poll is big big big.

Not small, like that Mini commercial. BIG! Big big.

:)

I understand the impulse to grasp at any glimmer of hope. But really...

You should go over to Real Clear Politics and take a look. What you'll find is that there is no national GOP primary Rasmussen poll dated "November 21-22". Why? because it doesn't exist. The last national GOP primary Rasmussen poll was released on 11/2.

You can go to the link in post #7 and find out how this confusion originated.

The facts are the facts. Attempts to "refute" them do not make them any less so. It only serves to debase the person engaging in the effort.

At best, the Cain camp should've known better - if they unwittingly put this out. At worst, knowingly using false polling data to gin up excitement - and by extension the willingness to donate - is disturbing...
