Sheriff Joe Arpaio, the sheriff of Maricopa County, Ariz., who calls himself Americas Toughest Sheriff, will endorse Texas Gov. Rick Perry next week, a source with knowledge of the endorsement told ABC News.
Arpaio espouses a hard-line stance on illegal immigration, leading raids to round up and jail illegal immigrants, and was a major proponent of the controversial Arizona immigration law. Perry has spoken with Arpaio several times over the phone since entering the presidential race.
Arpaio, a much sought after endorsement in the GOP field, plans to campaign with Perry in New Hampshire next week, the source said. The Texas governor will be in the Granite State Tuesday and Wednesday, holding three town halls and a breakfast at the Nashua Chamber of Commerce along with speaking at the New Hampshire State House...

I find it odd. I lived in Chandler in the 90’s and the sweeps were quite deportational.
Haters gonna hate and I bet they hate this news.
This is awesome news!
Full length Rick Perry speech video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21z30aNO3cA
Listen to it and then tell me what Rick says is wrong?
So Sheriff Joe is now gullible? lol
OMG....what a horrible dye job.....hahah
I can certainly accept that. Perry remains third on my list, but for me, Cain is the same as Romney. Both are wishy-washy politicians who will not delve into the meaning of their talking points.
I really dislike the way the Cain supporters are playing scorched-earth with anyone and everyone who dares to oppose their candidate or support someone else.
It is the main reason I have been absent so much recently.
Boy isn’t that the truth! Poor things, I guess being keyword spam monkeys are all they have though.
So have most of us Perry supporters. Who needs to hang out when the doctors are no longer in charge of the asylum.
Thanks, Sheriff. Common sense may be slow but it’s sure.
Smoothsailing, did you just happen to be bored tonight and couldn’t find a zombie movie with heads exploding on TV, or did you just want to post this news article for its news relevance? LOL
Actually, I just saw that Sheriff Arpaio will be campaigning with Perry next week in NH as well!
Sheriff Arpaio to campaign with Perry
Bwahahahaha! A few people around here are gonna lose their minds.
You can’t be an effective and GOOD sheriff if you’re a bad judge of character. Perhaps you are the one who can’t see things straight.
A bad dye job can be fixed. A lack of integrity and core convictions usually can’t by Newt’s age.
gonna??? As in future tense?
In an interview Arpaio ridiculed the notion that The Dream Act
( passed in 2001 by the Texas legislature with a veto proof majority including overwhelming conservative support )
would stop him from endorsing Perry.
” You think the Dream Act is going to stop me ?
I don’t care either way.
You gotta look at the whole picture.
What kind of president he will make.
Not just because he’s for or against the Dream Act.”
“So Sheriff Joe is now gullible? lol”
Unfortunately, yes. It would be interesting to know the line of BS Perry fed him.
I LOVE this. THE PERRY HATERS ARE RUNNING TO CHANGE THEIR TIGHTY WHITIES. Sheriff Arpaio is on the front lines an knows WHO will actually fight for American Security by closing that border to illegals and terrorists.
You’re funny... did you forget that Cain had “things swirling around in his head” amesia?
I still like Joe even though I disagree with him on this point. Perry is stupid and Obama will kill him in debates.
This is different. I don’t know where I fall in the candidate hate-don’t hate group, but this alliance is very good for Perry. Sheriff Joe has had a very good run yet he is undergoing a recall effort right now. I am on his mail list.
Hugging themselves. Rocking back and forth. Talking to imaginary friends. ;p
Any police officer can have moments when they misjudge character and in Sheriff Joe’s case, I believe this is one of those moments.
By the way, my eyesight is just fine thank you. ;-)
LOL!!! The anti-Perry flaming keyword spam monkey zombies have invaded this thread! :o)
.(Am I supposed to string garlic up, or something?)
Thanks for the post and link, I didn’t know Joe had said that. :)
As a contributor BTW.
PERRY is HARDLY stupid. TEXAS is doing a lot better than the rest of the States. We are SURVIVING the Obama onslaught. Other States Aren’t. Heard econ talking heads discussing the Cities that are getting ready to declared bankruptcy. Perry worked hard to get Texas out of the Boom-bust cycle of the oil industry. Atracking new industry to the State. The U.S would be lucky to have him as President.
If you love Perry so much, why not keep him there? Or are you guys just looking for an excuse to foist him on the nation to get a new governor?
Forget the hate thing. Just poking fun at friendly rivals.
I don’t think Arpaio would endorse Perry if he were not sure of his Commitment to sealing that border.
Joe is facing a recall effort, maybe he is looking ahead? The unions won a big one when they successfully recalled the author of their immigration bill, no one is safe from those thugs.
I want the best man for President, HE IS THAT MAN.
Maybe he is not stupid but he sure does a good job of projecting the image of being stupid. His “heartless” commented showed just how clueless he is.
Perry is very smart and quick...Obama can’t debate worth squat...he is one lousy debater. Perry will run circles around him.
Because we have this zero in the WH we want OUT and we think Perry can do it, or are you alright with Obummer?
That sounds more rational. Now let Gov. Perry introduce a plan that he considers “Humane”.
In June 2011 Debate Newt Gingrich called Americans Heartless for wanting to deport 20 million illegals.
"GINGRICH: No, but let me say this, John. No serious citizen who's concerned about solving this problem should get trapped into a yes/no answer in which you're either for totally selling out protecting America or you're for totally kicking out 20 million people in a heartless way. There are -- there are humane, practical steps to solve this problem, if we can get the politicians and the news media to just deal with it honestly."
June 2011 Debate Transcript
Wow! A little defensive, aren't we?
I didn't include any judgement, good or bad, in my post. I was just stating established fact.
Yes, string that garlic up!!!
The good Sheriff knows that Perry means it when he pledges to shut down the border within one year ! Perrry has the right strategy to do it...more boots on the ground, strategic fencing and aerial assets.
We feel sorry for the rest of you whose Governors haven't been as astute about leading their states into prosperity. Just trying to show you the way out and share the wealth.
It is front and center. The influx to Phoenix may not be enough but turn-out is crucial. You have found the connect on this political op.
I don’t understand your point. Yes, Gingrich called people who want the rule of law upheld “heartless” and “inhumane”. So did Perry.
What the heads of certain Freepers are now doing.
