Vice President Joe Biden in Iraq said the administration had fulfilled its campaign promises to end the war and refused to rule out a possible presidential bid in 2016.

Biden, who is meeting with Iraqi officials ahead of the deadline for the drawdown of American forces and will participate in ceremonies to honor U.S. and Iraqi troops, said that Iraq's government and military were ready to defend themselves. Biden will also visit Turkey and Greece before returning to Washington.

In an interview that aired on The Today Show Thursday, Biden once again left the door open for running for president in 2016.

"I am never ready to close the door on anything," Biden said. "I am intent on reelecting Barack Obama president of the United States of America. The rest will take care of itself."

Biden's comments mirror those he made in October in an interview with CNN.

"My one focus right now is getting the president reelected. I'll make up my mind on that later," Biden said to CNN. "I'm not closing any door. My job now and will be vice president of the United States and we got the order right — President Obama and Vice President Joe Bide

"I am never ready to close the door on anything,"

Please don't rule it out, Joe.

I would LOVE to watch the media have to cover this guy's bumbling arse through an entire campaign.

Trial balloons...why? What reaction are they measuring with this message? Although Biden is gaffe prone, this does not sound like one. I am guessing someone is feeling out what happens when the crowds don’t get behind Obama this time, is there an appetite for a replacement? Or maybe...it is just Biden being Biden!

LOL, he’d be a puppet with a thousand strings. He wouldn’t know which way to go with all the special interest cronies pulling on them.

Another example of our current politicians having 99 per cent ego and 1 per cent Brains. Sometimes it aggravates me but the idea he is contemplating the presidency is laughable. Or, maybe it should be encouraged so conservatives won’t have to work as hard on the election.

Right. Obie has ended the war pretty much the same way Forrest Gump ended his running adventure...

Need any more evidence of the need for term limits?... there’s got to be an idiot meter somewhere showing the relative lunacy of one politician from another... I’m sure Biden would score “Hopeless Imbecile”, but still, there are fools willing to vote for him.

But for Biden; not enough fools. . .not even the MSM could follow this one; with a straight face. That said. . .Biden IS likeable; think he will not want to be running in 2016.

Think the better idea for Joe; is that he should own a corner bar; and settle in; and enjoy the conversation and the customers. It would be 'Cheers' revisited.
