Gingrich: Let’s face it, I’m going to be the nominee
Hot Air ^ | DECEMBER 1, 2011 | ALLAHPUNDIT

He’s at 50 percent in Florida and nationally, among likely voters, enjoys a 20-point lead on Romney. He’s not blowing smoke here. If he doesn’t stumble this month and Cain drops out, it’s absolutely possible that he’ll run the table in the early states. Unlike in other years, that itself won’t cinch the nomination — Romney’s got the cash and organization to press on, and there’ll be time before Super Tuesday for Newt to cool off — but still.

I feel like Pascow in “Pet Sematary,” pleading with Dr. Creed not to let his desperation drive him to something terrible. You don’t have to nominate Newt. You don’t have to do this, Louis.

4 weeks is a long time, just ask everyone else in the race.

I am for Cain. More important than that, I am for Obama not being re-elected. So once it all shakes out I will be voting for the non-Obama candidate.

I hope it is Cain. If not I will support our nominee...

Then once we win the general I will support a 3rd party for 2016, I hope I can convince 45 million of my friends to do the same.

Winning platforms:

I will suppress your immune system to the point that you actually can’t fight off voting for me.

Resistance is futile, prepare to be assimilated.

We’re all slime and I oozed my way to the top of the sludge pile so the rules say you have to vote for me?

You’re just going to have to lower your standards all the way down to mine.

http://www.salon.com/2011/03/08/gingrich_divorce_hospital_cancer/

The anecdote was repeated ad nauseam when Gingrich became House speaker in 1995. Then it was repeated ad nauseam
when he filed for divorce with his second wife, Marianne, in 1999.
The story came up again in the mid-2000s when Gingrich was openly mulling a 2008 presidential bid.
In 2007, when Gingrich told James Dobson in a radio interview that he had in the 1990s cheated
on his second wife (with his current wife, Callista), several stories about the admission also noted the 1980 hospital encounter.

If Gingrich is really serious about a 2012 candidacy, expect the hospital story to stay with him throughout the campaign.

I caught his interview on Hannity lastnight and, although I thought it was pretty good, you can sense his overconfident attitude was coming out.

If he really said this - it could be the beginning of his implosion because of his lack of discipline.

He is doing a good job of fooling some of the people some of the time.

The problem is that the Establishment has done a beautiful job of destroying everyone who was not controlled by them.

Can we, The People, really win against the Establishment?

Fighting that kind of entrenched power is difficult, but we will win -- we have to.

If these were normal times I'd side with the folks who say "no Newt!" Unfortunately, we're facing absolutely depraved America haters who play for keeps.

Obama is at war against the United States and it's high time we stopped thinking in the pre-revolution mindset. If our guy is willing to fight to preserve the nation, we must be mature enough to accept him with all his warts.
