I feel the same way Mark, join the “Will a conservative please step forward” club?. I think Mark was a little strong against Herman Cain, but he is entitled to his opinion.

Newt will be fine. He is well qualified to be President and he has a 90% lifetime conservative rating and he is a senior fellow with the Heritage Foundation which is a major conservative think tank. Don’t buy into all the RINO this and RINO that. Save it for Mitt.

Anybody but Obama. The future of the Supreme Court is at stake.

Would you like Dede Scozzafava or Harriet Miers on the bench??

Nobody is asking for perfection but there are several issues that are deal breakers for conservatives.

At this point I am seriously hoping for a contested convention and nobody gets in one the first ballot. I’d like to see someone like Jim DeMint throw their hat into the ring.

lol.

That’s not a fair comparison. Compared to Romney just about anyone would look better.

Newt is more liberal than any other gop candidate, including romney.

Newt is defending obamacare’s individual mandate. That is bad and unconstitutional. Romney defends same, but only in state level.

Both are bad liberal positions, but state mandate is constitional. Newt federal mandate is not. Newt is much more dangerous and liberal.

Both positions are equally bad. I don’t know if Newt is “more liberal” than Romney since both of them flip flop so often its a coin toss as to who is more liberal on any given day.

There is only one way a RINO (Republican In Name Only) Gingrich or Romney, can win the nomination, and that is by conservatives casting aside their principles and voting for them. I won’t. With Obama’s miserable record and abysmal poll numbers, there will probably never be a greater opportunity in our lifetime to put a real conservative in the White House and yet, once again, we see Republicans, gravitating toward a big-government, walk-across-the-aisle, compromising, globalist RINO. It is utterly maddening. As Rush as said, either one of these candidates could beat Obama, so if you claim to be a conservative, then for the sake of this country, vote conservative!!

I’ve already said I’m not much of a Newt fan. But if it came down to him or Romney, I’d have to go with Gingrich. I sincerely hope it doesn’t come down to that.

To a degree I agree with you. But, It's always up to the individual candidate to appeal to us, in spite of media attacks and opposition attacks (although they are really the same thing).

I submit to you that Bachmann enlarged her own mountain to climb by alienating many Palin supporters way back with the Rollins hiring. Added to that, she seemed to become kind of stale in her numerous TV appearances, saying the same things over and over. To me, I like what she says but don't give her much of a chance (never did), similar to Duncan Hunter. Awful hard to run from the House, regardless of who you are.

Cain is closer to proving your point. The current crap against him isn't his undoing, rather it's some of his responses to some what simple questions that have given me pause. If your running for President, you have to at least put in some time to understand current events and have some sort of intelligent position. I'm thinking specifically of his painful response to the question on Libya. That was the beginning his his fall in the polls.

As for Santorum, I have no disagreement. He is well versed, articulate and Conservative. But, he's under financed and unable to gain traction (to this point). Of all the remaining candidates, he would certainly be my choice. I hope he's able to gain more TV exposure as he's still an unknown to many. In the current political season of attrition, the longer he's able to stick around, the better his chances.

The smooth talking RINO does have the advantage in the Republican primaries, no doubt. They get the positive press and gain crossover votes at the polls. Problem is, they always end up with little turn out from Conservatives (and who can blame us?) and always end up a loser in the General. The rise of Gingrich is desperation, desperation that he's the best choice of ending the Obama reign. We get so focused on who can beat Obama that we lose our focus on what we're actully supporting. Lot's of people are in real trouble (and I'm speaking financially) and panicked of how they could survive 4 more years of 0. Try not to be angry with them.

Seem to, yes. As far as some detestable candidates can come along, Newt is the man who makes most of them less detestable. He’s an insider, and just another side of the same coin as Romney

Tell me who you support, not why ____________ is a miserable SOB.

I am undecided, except for ruling out Ron Paul or Huntsman in the primary.

MARK IS RIGHT! We have no party... we have no team (I reference the above "uninfluential center of right chattering class" remarks)... we have no politician looking to do what is right for America any longer. We have a state run media propaganda machine... we have the most corrupt government in the western world... our elected officials have been bought and paid for by our enemies... and it is WE THE PEOPLE versus the dims and the elite republican cabal. If the dims and republicans could find a way to get rid of elections... you can bet the pot that they would... and obama is actively trying now.

Well put.
I agree Santorum has potential. He just needs a bit more exposure. Both Santorum and Bachman still have half-decent chance. Iowa should be favorable state. If they win there, they become serious candidates.

Newt would be easier for me to support than romney, whom I will not support, however, Newt has serious flaws which will be exploited by the left, no doubt about it.

I thought that was who you meant, but wasn’t entirely sure.

I won’t have a problem voting for ole Pointy Boots if he gets the nomination. He hasn’t done a bad job for us here in TX.....

Now that I think about it, I might have to hold my nose to vote for some of them, but I will definitely vote for anybody but obammy!
