MSNBC Mocks Cain Announcement With Derisive Laughter: 'Bizarre Charade, Freak Show'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 12/04/2011 7:04:51 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

Check out the screengrab after the jump. Before Chris Hayes uttered word one of commentary about Hermain Cain's speech suspending his campaign, he reacted with derisive laughter. Hayes, host of a weekend MSNBC show, was serving as analyst on Alex Witt's show as they broke down the Cain announcement.

Hayes went on to mock Cain and his speech as a "bizarre charade" and a "freak show," along the way laughing once more, this time at the notion Cain might have a career as a motivational speaker.

Palin was not debilitated.

She laughed off the accusations against her no differently from how Obama and (Bill) Clinton did, because (as with those guys), the accusations were either false, unsubstantiated, or irrelevant in they eyes of a decisive majority of the public.

Palin CHOSE to move on to her media career rather than fight in Alaska, and she CHOSE to keep on her media career rather than run for President. Her choices in both cases were perfectly rational. Staying as Governor was costing her a lot and benefiting her little. Running for President would damage her media career and while being prohibitively unlikely to end up with her in the White House.

I agree with your assessment - it’s a double-edged sword against the candidate since there’s no good answer to “Have you stopped beating your wife?”, and it’s also unseemly for a candidate to attack the accuser (unless the accuser is Joe the plummer). Now that Herman’s officially a civilian citizen again, I hope he exacts a few pounds of flesh from the accusers.

Chris Hayes? Never heard of him. I’ll bet that he supports the current cypher that occupies the White House.

This uninhibited sinister chuckle implying a sense of ‘mission accomplished’, having successfully torpedoed Cain’s presidential aspirations begs the question. Is there an Axelrod/msm/journo-list episode of phone hacking - as currently exhibited in the UK/Murdoch media firestorm? Just recently, there was an article stating Cain’s people were going to demand the cell phone records of White. Isn’t it all too convenient that these unsubstantiated allegations popped up at this point in Cain’s career? Every episode thus far was ‘alleged’ by needy, financially vulnerable women, each with a documented history of litigation while being portrayed as Cain’s professional equal. All too consistent to be dismissed as coincidence.

“They most certainly not on a deathwatch. As is pandered here at FR on a nauseatingly daily basis.”

EXACTLY...
FR, like most other forums, tends to be an echo chamber, where people here what they want to hear.

The Cain Episode yet again proves the power of PROPAGANDA. And Remember it’s not US the propaganda has to convince, it’s just the few percent in the middle.

THE SHEEPLE.

I'm surprised anyone here is still pushing the distorted MSM talking points concerning Palin.

I can’t cite my source, because I don’t remember, but I read somewhere yesterday that it was Romney’s camp that outed the Ginger White story. I read that people from Romney’s camp had been calling media sources to ASK, “Have you heard anything about this supposed Cain affair with this woman?” And of course, the media, not knowing anything about it, because it had not been outed yet, started hounding White.

That’s what I read somewhere. Sorry I can’t cite a source.

But I do find it interesting that in today’s Real Clear Politics poll of New Hampshire, Cain is down to 2%, and Romney opened up his lead over Gingrich. So in New Hampshire at least, the Cain votes went to Romney. (In Iowa, Gingrich widened his lead, so it’s not universal that Cain’s votes went to one or the other.)

here is what I think the truth is:

the first two that had sexual harassment claims.. were either being hyper sensitive about sexual harassment or were just purposefully distorting what happened to increase the amounts of their severance packages.

Buy-a-Lick was lying through her teeth - and I could sense the genuine outrage and indignation from Cain about this one in particular.

The mistress.. I honestly don't know, but my gut tells me there's probably something to it since Cain dropped out because of it.

It's sad, but even the best of men can fall pray to temptation. I wish Cain all the happiness in the world and hope he is able to keep his family together, and somehow find happiness in this world.

“Add to that a lack of critical thinking and you have an easily manipulated [FreeRe]public.”

Lots of useful idiots here, aiding the Cain-haters. Next, their candidate will be the subject of attacks ...
