Newt fires back at Pelosi: Bring it on!
The Right Scoop ^ | 12/5/2011 | The Right Scoop

Posted on 12/05/2011 12:16:16 PM PST by TBBT

Newt today said that if Pelosi wants to disclose information about himself from when she was on the ethics committee, that the House should immediately file charges against her as that is a violation of the rules of the House:

First of all I’d like to thank Speaker Pelosi for what I regard as an early Christmas gift. If she’s suggesting she’s gonna use material she developed while she was on the ethics committee, that is a fundamental violation of the rules of the House and I would hope members would immediately file charges against her the second she does it.

Here’s the full clip:

If Newt doesn’t shoot himself in the butt and if he can keep his mouth shut for five minutes, he may make it.

That’s askin’ an awful lot. Let us pray that Newt can keep his mouth shut and that Perry can loosen his tounge. Either one would be better than Romney.

There is no one as self-righteous on this forum (at least that I’ve met) as eternal vigilance. He’s got that down pat.

He knows what I’m talking about.

Well, thanks I guess for saying Perry shows few signs of rebounding instead of none.

Singing Newt’s praises????

Excuse me. Newt was a dirty word on Free Republic a few months ago.

You could be banned and feel the wrath of the mods for violating the no profanity rule if you said the word, ‘Newt.’

It’s a dang miracle what he’s managed to do.

livius, hate to pile on Newt but you are being way generous to him in your assessment of why he quit.

He did pull off a miracle in mobilizing the country with his brilliant ideas and soaring rhetoric and got us the House for the first time since ... what? Lincoln?

And a lot was accomplished during the first months of his term as Speaker.

But his fellow reps quickly became disillusioned with Newt, not for anything about his private life- they couldn’t care less, but because he just wasn’t a good leader.

Maybe you aren’t a big fan of Tom Delay, but I am and he tried to get Newt ousted as speaker... a meeting was held but Dick Armey demanded to be speaker and they didn’t want him (I don’t care at all for Armey). So he went off in a snit and told Newt about the attempted coup and it was defeated.

As Delay wrote in his book, “The speaker was disorganized. He knew nothing about running meetings and nothing about driving an agenda.”

Peter King called him hyperbolic.

Denny Hastert accused him of changing policy in a 24 hour period.

Tim Coburn said, “Before the goernment shutdown we thought Newt gingrich was invicible. After the shutdown, however, he was like a whipped dog who still barked, yet cowered in Clinton’s presence.

I say this not to thwart Newt’s chances. He may be the most viable candidate we have if Perry doesn’t get a big bump (still hoping), but people need to pray that if we nominate Newt he has matured enough to be the leader we need and not just a bombastic speaker who is not steady and won’t lead.

"There is no one as self-righteous on this forum (at least that I’ve met) as eternal vigilance. He’s got that down pat. He knows what I’m talking about," he said self-righteously.

In any case, what is so "self-righteous" about me pointing out the indisputable fact that FR is explicitly an independent conservative site, not a Republican Party site?

Oh, you know perfectly well what I’m talking about and I’m not going to bring it up again.

Just go and sin no more.

nick, you’ve posted a whole bunch of anti-Newt posts here and I asked who your candidate is.

You don’t have to tell me, but you can’t just be against everybody ... you have to be for somebody.

So, who is it?

You give yourself too much credit for posting things I think are worth remembering. In other words, I have no earthly notion what you’re babbling about.

you can’t just be against everybody ...

Sure he can, if they all suck. It's a free country, whether you like it or not.

blah, blah, blah, you should have been cautioned for implying that I was similar to a nazi. I should have reported you.

I showed you mercy, not stop lying and go and sin no more.

Was I talking to you?

There is nothing more futile and disastrous than being against all our candidates and threatening to sit home and pout.

I will vote for the Republican nominee and I have very little respect for anyone who doesn’t.

There is no one worse than Obama.

Well, they've got you right where they want you, don't they.

There is no one worse than Obama.

I find it sad to come to America's premiere conservative site and find folks whose plumb line is now Barack Obama.

What will it be by next election cycle? "Hey, our guy is better than Satan"?

I heard from insiders, that Newt is considering Chafee, as well as Grassley and Lugar. They have thought about Thune, but for some reason aren't that strong on him. They think Chafee will give them spark. They really wanted the governor of Nevada, but he endorsed Perry, so who know.

They say that Romney is looking to pick Pawlenty or Santorum.

Thank God for reasoned thinking! I was beginning to think I was shouting in the wilderness. :)

I know that none of our current crop of candidates is perfect or professes conservative ideals in their purest form. If I could have one wish it would be to have President Reagan back. That stated, I see what is going on in this country and it frightens me. It frightens me so much because apart from our 15 trillion debt, unemployment and Obamacare issues, if Obama gets another term the Supreme Court will likely go socialist. Take a look at the ages on the court. If Obama gets another term, it’s a 95% certainty he will have another appointee and then we are lost to Constitutional Government.

I WILL NOT SIT OUT THIS ELECTION. I WILL VOTE GOP.

All Perry has to do is sit on his duff while your perpetual case of diarrhea of the keyboard continues on, and on, and on, and on, if FR was a 'pay-for-play' website, you would already be broke.

I respect Perry; admire his military service, his humble beginnings, accomplishments, conservatism, faith and his sense of self-depracating humor. He may be too decent for the Washington swamp.

Having watched the Democrats and the media distort and destroy George Bush for being ‘a cowboy’ and Rove’s refusal to counter that perception - I just don’t want to visit personal destruction of a decent man, again.

On handling the opposition - as POTUs - he would be flying solo - no backseat, backstabbing Congressional cohorts - just the people’s GPS - a great copilot VP and a throttle.

I absolutely remember the shutdown. Hopefully a president Gingrich would do the same thing rather than engage in deficit spending. By standing up to clinton and the dems in congress, is that how he was played like a puppet?? Well, I played by clinton and pelosi as well. I stood, like Newt, for fiscal responsibility then and now. Are you being played by obama or are you just going along with his trillions in red ink?
