Isn’t he just admitting that she’s got dirt on him? Sit on the couch with her again, Newt. Or it could just be an organized plan to insure that Mitt takes the spot. I’m beginning to wonder if Gingrich is a choice or a red herring.

Don’t be an ignoramus. Pelosi has just given Newt the ammunition to blow her out of the water. When he counterattacks, believe me, he counterattacks.

Nancy thinks she has botoxed herself into a bullet proof monster, but in truth, Republicans have just been to cowardly to pull the trigger to stop dim thuggery and gangsterism...

Arrogance. Complete arrogance....he didn’t suspect they had the goods on him with his ‘Calista’, and he doesn’t suspect they know anything else he’s hiding.

Gingrich didn’t give Pelosi anything. He was long out of office when he agreed to do that ‘friendly’ advertisement.

Pelosi is acting like a mafioso - with cryptic threats of blackmail. By not acting like a victim - Newt wins this fight against the corrupt backstabber and loser that Pelosi is.

She is digging her own grave- Newt just needs to shove her in it.

“He could actually give the Dems huge majorities in both houses.”

He takes them, not gives them. Skip your history classes?

This is why, despite all the angst I see here about Newt, he is not the disaster some are afraid of. He was never my choice, but I have to say that more than any of the others he has the ability to put the left on the defensive and to play effective hardball.

Incidentally, by saying what she did Pelosi inadvertently helped Gingrich to distance himself from his earlier fraternizing with her.

Summary for those who can’t see the video:

Newt says if Nancy releases anything from the Ethics Committee she should be immediately investigated by the House.

Newt is kicking you-know-what and taking names! Pelosi’s blowing smoke and some of the folks around here scatter for the bushes to hide. If they had ANYTHING more on Newt they would have used it in the first campaign to destroy him. They have nothing.

Newt is a fighter. He’s going to take it directly to the other side.

I thought that as well.. that it’d be a violation of House rules to release that kind of info.

Be that as it may, one thing the detestable Pelosi is indeed forgetting... Newt Gingrich relishes a mudfight, and will be quite willing to deliver back to his attackers.

So go for it, Wicked Bitch of the West... bring it!

why doesn't Newt just tell us what the ethics committee was investigating?

Oh it's all coming out. No question about that.

If he is the nominee, we are so screwed.

Already discussed on FR threads ad nauseum.

From Wiki:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newt_Gingrich

Eighty-four ethics charges were filed against Speaker Gingrich during his term, including claiming tax-exempt status for a college course run for political purposes. Following an investigation by the House Ethics Committee Gingrich was sanctioned US$300,000.[65] Gingrich acknowledged in January 1997 that “In my name and over my signature, inaccurate, incomplete and unreliable statements were given to the committee”. [66] The House Ethics Committee concluded that inaccurate information supplied to investigators represented “intentional or ... reckless” disregard of House rules.[67] Special Counsel James M. Cole concluded that Gingrich violated federal tax law and had lied to the ethics panel in an effort to force the committee to dismiss the complaint against him. The full committee panel did not agree whether tax law had been violated[68] and left that issue up to the IRS.[69] In 1999, the IRS cleared the organizations connected with the “Renewing American Civilization” courses under investigation for possible tax violations.

Exactly. He has a history of slamming the left hard. The kissy-face stuff he did with Hillary and Pelosi was merely theater to soften his image a bit. I assume he's figured out by this point in his career that such moves are supremely counter-productive.

Until now. It stopped with Gingrich...he bites back. He may have his warts, but he doesn't play.
