Morning Joe host rebukes Gingrich as 'bad person' (Scarborough)
The Hill ^ | December 6, 2011 | Josh Lederman

ormer Rep. Joe Scarborough (R-Fla.) offered a stunningly candid rebuke to Newt Gingrich on Tuesday, calling him a "bad person" and accusing him of demonizing his political opponents.

"When he puts on his political helmet, he is a terrible person," Scarborough said on his "Morning Joe" show on MSNBC. "He may be a nice person at home, [but] people that don't know Newt at home need to know this."

Scarborough ticked off a list of comments Gingrich has made about his opponents before singling out Gingrich's comparison of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius (D) to Joseph Stalin.

"I may disagree with her personally, but she's given her life to political service," he said. "He compares her to Joseph Stalin, who killed 30 million people?"

He also blasted Gingrich for calling Democrats a bigger threat to the United States than Nazis, the Congressional Budget Office a socialist institution and for insulting conservative commentator Glenn Beck.

"He dehumanizes people," Scarborough said.

I’m not a Gingrich fan, but these RINOs are so nauseating in their cowardice. They want to be friends with the liberals. They’re like little house boys who want to fit into the liberal country club trying so desperately to be accepted.

Maybe Sibelius is not really a Stalinist but simply a Fascist.

Joe Scarborough (R-Fla.) was a Republican. I just cannot get my hands around that.

“When Secretary Sebelius said the other day she would punish insurance companies who told the truth about Obamacare, she was behaving exactly in the spirit of the Soviet tyranny,” Newt said. “If she is going to represent left-wing thought police about Obamacare, she should be forced to resign by the new Congress.”

Sounds like Newt is correct to me.

Politics is a contact sport. Presidential politics is a blood sport. Deal with it or stay away.

What? We have a candidate who has the stones to take it to the Democrats?

I thought only Sarah Palin had a pair.

Didn't Joe have a staffer who died under mysterious circumstances in his office?

Who does he think he is demonizing Newt?

Sounds like Newt is correct to me.

That Newt will use a term like 'left-wing thought police' means he 'gets it'.

Sounds correct to me too...

Just as I was about to turn off the Beck program I heard him interviewing Newt. The only way I would vote for Newt is if he is the nominee because the alternative is worse maybe not a lot worse but worse. Sore nose on election day again.

“What? We have a candidate who has the stones to take it to the Democrats?”

Newt has no fear. He has my vote. But I worry about his consistency. I fear the unexpected from Newt. (Which is far preferable to what I know we’ll get from Obama).

You mean you aren’t going to “show ‘em” and stay home? That seems to be all the rage here on FR any more.
