Obama: More jobs in jobless benefits than Keystone byJoel Gehrke Commentary Staff Writer

President Obama said that he will delay his vacation and keep Congress in session until the passage of his desired payroll tax cut and unemployment benefits extension -- two proposals that Obama said would create more jobs than the Keystone XL pipeline that his administration recently delayed.

"I would not ask anyone to do something I'm not willing to do myself," Obama said when asked if he would go on vacation while keeping Congress in Washington D.C. "We are going to stay here as long as it takes [to get unemployment extended and pass the payroll tax cut]."

President Downgrade backs himself into a corner once again. I hope the republicans make it a straight up deal— Keystone and Tax Cuts or nothing.

President Downgrade might be the worst negotiator in history.

It’s so funny to watch.

more of the democrat “unemployment benefits are stimulus” crap

OK democrats! Send us all unemployment benefits and we will stimulate the economy out of recession. Imagine what 150 million people on unemployment can do to raise up this country!

Please leave me on and I have put in my favorites http://www.nachumlist.com/ just in case I can’t access FreeRepublic while we are on CHRISTmas vacation. Funny, 25 years ago when I first started in the timber business I would say “Have chainsaw will travel” now I have to say “Where I go my laptop goes.”

In my lifetime, I've NEVER seen a pressient so anxious to reach irrelevancy the way this one is.

However, next November, I'm ready to do my part to help him reach his goal of COMPLETE irrelevancy.

I just don’t understand what is wrong with people anymore. I can’t take the massive stupidity of people (most who never shut the hell up thinking they know everything) surrounding me.

How can ANYONE believe, much less say (I know, Dems get away with saying anything), that paying people who are not working is creating jobs? Because they buy food?

That is the worse economic understanding a retarded dog can figure out is stupid.

And why is taking money from the (non-existent) Soc Sec “trust fund” going to help that so-called program?

I do not care who the republican candidate is...I am voting for that person.

This M Effer is way beyond out of control and there is no way in hell any of us can afford to let this little big eared mouse continue in the office of the POTUS.

How come when Obama proposes not collecting a portion of the taxes owed it’s called stimulus...when I propose not paying a portion owed it’s called a felony?

Lower SS tax paid, Lower SS paid out when you retire.

Really: Lower SS tax paid, quicker SS goes broke.

I believe it is far worse than that. They are defunding SS under the guise of a *tax cut* and then they will blame the mean evil GOP for cutting SS.

They will up the rate of SS tax for *the rich* and then deny those same people any SS because of means testing. Later, all SS will be cut in the name of austerity.

This has all been planned in detail for a long time. It is all too diabolically consistent to be coincidence. No one can believe unemployment benefits means more jobs than a pipeline.

Back in the day they kept telling us the Trans-Alaska Pipeline would take 10 years (later they said 15 years) to complete. It was completed in 18 months and every able-bodied man we knew at the time went up there to work on it. Today, I know someone who used to own a construction company. He wasn’t unionized and he couldn’t afford to compete on bids, so he closed up shop and sold his heavy equipment. Now, he is taking his truck to NoDak to work in the Bakken. He is a Democrat, BTW.
