We're already there. Well over half the population derives at least some of their income directly from the government. If you roll gov't contractors into the mix, the picture is even grimmer (is 'grimmer' a word?). At this point, real reform will be impossible sans either some kind of absolute economic collapse or civil war.
That's the problem with electing people content to kick the can down the road -- eventually you run out of road. We're headed for something like the USSR went through 25 years ago where the productive elements of society reap so little benefit from their efforts, that they just quit trying. I'm not sure I want to stick around and watch it happen.

It wasn’t a poll. It was a survey, “who do you think will win?”; not “for whom are you voting?” Lots of people who would never vote for Obama think he will win, including Glenn Beck by an interview posted here.
