In Denver, where the Broncos are the closest thing to a universal religion, the faith for football is so fervent that it sometimes supersedes other beliefs -- especially since the arrival of Tim Tebow.
Tebow has defied his skeptics in ways that might make even the most secular of pigskin purists consider the possibility of divine intervention. On Sunday, he led the Broncos to yet another comeback victory, as they rallied from a 10-0 deficit with 2:08 remaining in the fourth quarter to beat the Chicago Bears 13-10 in overtime.
The win was the Broncos' sixth straight and moved the team to 8-5 atop the AFC West.
With the Broncos prospering under Tebow, different religious communities in Denver's metropolitan area have embraced the starting quarterback, even if their beliefs do not line up with his, The Wall Street Journal reported.
The devout evangelical Christian, who is not shy about praying on the football field, has catalyzed such a pervasive conversation about the role of faith in public that some religious figures in Colorado's Front Range even consider Tebow fodder for the pulpit.
On a recent evening, the rabbi at Denver's Temple Emanuel, Joe Black, was asked if he would ever sermonize about Tebow.
"Oh, absolutely," he said. "Here's the sermon I would deliver and probably will deliver: Tim Tebow is broadcasting the fact that he believes in God. God is actively involved in his life. We call ourselves people of faith. Is that how we perceive God? And if not, how do we perceive God?"
Another Denver rabbi, Temple Sinai's Rick Rheins, said he might feel "compelled" to preach about Tebow if the Broncos sneak into the playoffs. Then he reminded himself of this week's Torah portion. It is about Jacob wrestling with uncertainties of his own.

I believe in God and consider myself a christian, I like Tebow. However, I think yesterday’s win had more to do with Marion Barber (a Bill Parcel’s special) than the Almighty.
Attributing a sport victory to God is foolish and disrespectful.
The message of the Gospel is that God loves mankind and has chosen to make us His partners in the salvation of the world. The NT tells us that everything we do should be done as if it were for God. When Tim Tebow gives the glory for a “sports victory” back to God, it becomes more than mere entertainment, and the Lord is pleased.
Thank you.
I know a few lefties who think prayers in the locker room are merely entreaties for victory. They couldn’t be more wrong. Likewise, anybody who thinks that God would reveal himself in the outcome of an athletic competition is a borderline FANatic.
I endorse Tim Tebow’s praise of the Lord. I distrust the Christian organizations that are mentioned here because they likely will ditch him as if he were a rotten potato if he doesn’t continue to win.
Proverbs says, ‘acknowledge the Lord in all your ways and He shall direct your paths’.... Things happen in the spiritual realm that affect the material realm as well. Since Tebow has faith and believes his team can win then so it must be but its a mystery of what the details may be.
Not if you believe that God created you, the field and everything surrounding the game...
Bob Beckel (Fox News liberal and one of The Five) said the Bronco’s win was due to two field goals and Tebow had little to do with it. I didn’t watch the game and know nothing about it; got my football fix from watching the Packers beat Raiders.
Granted, the past three Bronco wins were a total team effort... but Tebow in the 4th Quarter has been incredible. Remarkable even. I read an interesting theory... Fox and the Broncos due just enough in 3 quarters to wear a defense down. And in the 4th, they roll over tired defenses who can’t deal with a running AND passing QB.
Miracles are supernatural. Winning football games are in the natural realm.
The Broncos kicker won the past two games. I like the whole Tebow phenomenom, but the credit should go to Prater.
Tebow has always said God is not interested in the win, He is interested in the man and with that i will praise Him.
Tebow would thank Jesus win or lose. He serves a God that cares about his life. Tebow, just happens to be a football player. So to God be the Glory.
Tebow's been playing well. He played like this in college but since he didn't come into the NFL playing like he did in college and is now playing like he did people, all of a sudden, want to say God has a hand in it.
It's ridiculous.
...and Tim doesn’t claim he does. He just praises Jesus that he’s alive and able to play, at every opportunity!
That said, he’s infectious, his attitude is pervasive, it comes from his faith....and it has entrenched itself into the character of the team - they’ve all bought into it. They play to the last second - as they know Tim believes, so they do also, that no matter what the situation they can overcome it. That’s powerful stuff!
Look at how much time is being spent talking about Tebow and his faith, do you think God cares about that? Well, all I know is that I keep witnessing miracles on the football field every week.
He is attacked because of his faith, while others are praised and their evil deeds ignored. The combination of his character, the attacks that he could “never” succeed and his amazing wins - it is truly special. It may not keep going, but it’s a fun ride for now! Enjoy it!
Rather, Tebow is using his faith as an example to others and it is inspiring his teammates to play to their fullest.
