President Barack Obama's campaign doesn't seem too troubled by Newt Gingrich's ascendancy to the top of the Republican primary polls.

Time's Mark Halperin reports that at a briefing for reporters today in Washington, Obama adviser David Axelrod said of Gingrich: "The higher a monkey climbs on the pole the more you can see his butt.

You can damn well bet that if anyone on the Gingrich campaign, or ANY other Republican said this, we would be getting hourly updates from the Obama-supporting Mainstream media screaming "RACISM!!!!!"

The Gay Mafia that runs the New York Times would be beside themselves with faked indignation, and NBC would be covering it as Breaking News, with hourly updates!

What’s your point?

You can imagine if that was Newt’s campaign saying that about Obama.. monkey etc. Although “ass” would be an appropriate description.

Does this mean that comparisons to monkeys and apes are now fair game in political satire?

And in so doing, Obama has revealed his strategy against Newt. He intends to poke him to make him lose his temper. Obama wants Newt to show his arrogance and temper. Newt needs to understand what this about.

Once again this administration shows how classless and childish they are. It will be nice to have the adults take over again come 2012!
