Newsmax/InsiderAdvantage Poll: Romney in Free Fall

GOP presidential contender Mitt Romney’s decision to campaign negatively in Iowa appears to have backfired, with a new Newsmax-InsiderAdvantage poll showing the former Massachusetts governor plummeting to fourth place in the Hawkeye State -- a swift decline that pollster Matt Towery describes as “imploding.”

Romney’s lead in New Hampshire is evaporating as well, Towery adds.

The InsiderAdvantage survey of 517 registered likely Iowa caucus-goers shows former House Speaker Newt Gingrich the leading choice of 27 percent of Iowa Republicans. He is followed by Texas Rep. Ron Paul at 17 percent, Texas Gov. Rick Perry at 13 percent, Romney at 12 percent, and Bachmann at 10 percent.

Hey, so much for the “can’t move off the 23% level” myth

:)

Well, hey, Willard. (Maybe your elders can dead-dunk you after you die and seal you to some presidency then).

Perry? I wrote him off the day he called me "heartless". Dream on. He's not coming back.

But Romney still winning New Hampshire in the latest polls by a widening margin so that is keeping him from doing anything rash.

And it is taking one Rino beat another rino. Gingrich might be better than Romney, but not that greatest. Some are worried that things will change soon like it did with Herman Cain.

“Asked if he had to win Iowa or New Hampshire or other early states, he demurred. ‘I don’t have to win anything other than 1,150 delegates.’ “

Classic Romney, isn’t it?

Newt was written off and left for dead this past summer, but despite being DOA he came roaring back. If there’s one thing this primary season has shown us, anything can happen (and likely will happen). Nobody is done until they end their campaigning.

Thanks TBBT. Correction — Mittwit’s decision to have proxies wage a negative campaign in Iowa, then make a ridiculous public denial of his own involvement when confronted about it, has backfired.
