Ron Paul: Blame Israel First

http://frontpagemag.com/2011/12/13/ron-paul-not-anti-foreign-aid-anti-israel/2/

Posted by Daniel Greenfield on Dec 13th, 2011

Do you know who the latest Zionist on the block is? It’s the man who called Israel, “an aggressive, national socialist state” and suggested that the original World Trade Center bombing may have really been carried out by Israel.

Then there’s the solicitation letter which boasted that this courageous fellow was exposing the, “Bohemian Grove–perverted, pagan playground of the powerful. Skull & Bones: the demonic fraternity that includes George Bush and leftist Senator John Kerry, Congress’s Mr. New Money. The Israeli lobby, which plays Congress like a cheap harmonica.”

So how is he a Zionist? Ask Jeffrey Goldberg of The Atlantic. According to him, Ron Paul is, “in one sense, a true Zionist, a believer in two core values of the Jewish liberation movement: Jewish independence and Jewish self-reliance.” The “sense” in which this is true is the sense in which the segregationists were really a black power movement who wanted black people to be independent and self-reliant.

This discussion began when the Republican Jewish Coalition failed to invite Ron Paul to their forum of leading presidential candidates. The RJC had not invited Paul back in 2007 either and there was no obvious reason for them to have done so this time around. A forum is not a debate and a Jewish group has no obligation to invite an anti-Israel candidate, just as a Catholic pro-life group has no obligation to invite Nancy Pelosi. Goldberg perpetuates the myth that the issue is Ron Paul’s opposition to foreign aid. That is not the issue. If it were the issue, Governor Perry, who said that “The foreign aid budget in my administration for every country is going to start at zero dollars,” would not have been invited either.

Foreign aid is not the issue. The actual issue is that Ron Paul’s views on Israel and Jews (as well as American foreign policy) are indistinguishable from those of Pat Buchanan.

Ron Paul isn’t simply against foreign aid; he believes that the Israeli lobby controls Washington and involves American in foreign wars… and that this was among the causes of September 11. Paul has described the original World Trade Center bombing as a “retaliation” and during the Republican debates in 2007 and 2011 blamed American foreign policy for Al-Qaeda’s attacks.

The Buchanan comparison is true in more ways than one. Ron Paul has insisted that we should have stayed out of WW2 and let Nazi Germany and the USSR fight it out, and that by entering the war Churchill only prolonged it. Clearly this was another expression of Ron Paul’s Zionism and his desire to promote “Jewish independence and Jewish self-reliance.”

Ron Paul supporters will clamor that the above material comes from the Ron Paul Survival Report, which according to the Paul campaign was supposedly written for years by some mysterious stranger pretending to be Ron Paul. This unknown stranger discussed his time in Congress, his medical career and his wife Carol all in the first person. That the media actually bought this ridiculous explanation, even while actual Republicans were lynched for much less than writing in support of David Duke, should tell you all you need to know about Paul’s cheerleaders in the mainstream media. But let’s skip over the “Report” for a moment.

In an interview with Iranian television, Ron Paul complained that the president had not said anything to Israel about its horrible massacre, compared Gaza to a concentration camp, and made it rather clear that he sympathized with the terrorists. It wasn’t some unknown mysterious stranger signing Paul’s name to hateful screeds. It was the man himself doing an interview with the agents of a murderous regime responsible for the murders of numerous Americans.

What about the following statement in the House of Representatives?

“Bin Laden’s claims are straightforward. The U.S. defiles Islam with military bases on holy land in Saudi Arabia, its initiation of war against Iraq, with 12 years of persistent bombing, and its dollars and weapons being used against the Palestinians as the Palestinian territory shrinks and Israel’s occupation expands. There will be no peace in the world for the next 50 years or longer if we refuse to believe why those who are attacking us do it.”

Ron Paul isn’t calling for impartiality or agitating for non-interventionism because he supports Jewish self-reliance, but because he believes that Israel is the source of our problems. He has made it clear over and over again that he blames Israel’s own war on terrorists for terrorism, just as he blames America’s war on terror for terrorism against America.

Paul’s hatred for the United States government has led him to make a common intellectual cause with Islamic terrorists. As far back as his Survival Report days, Paul had gotten in the habit of responding to Islamic violence with conspiracy theories. When Tehran was calling for Rushdie’s head on a plate, Paul wondered if “Some of the people hyping the Rushdie affair have other motives? For example to make Moslems look bad for geopolitical reasons?” (Ron Paul Survival Report – April 1989)

In January 2002, Paul wrote, “How can we forever fail to address the provocative nature of U.S. taxpayer money being used to suppress and kill Palestinians and ignore the affront to the Islamic people that our military presence on their holy land of Saudi Arabia causes.” In that same article he described the terrorists as “those who so passionately hate us that suicide becomes a just and noble cause in their effort to kill and terrorize us”.

In his book, “A Foreign Policy of Freedom,” Ron Paul insisted that, “all recent presidents have reiterated our obligation to bleed for Israel.” American soldiers have never bled for Israel, but language of this sort plays well with Paul’s base, and continues feeding the myth that America’s confrontation with Islamic terror is due to Israel, rather than Islam.

Occasionally Paul switches gears and points out that a cutoff in foreign aid would be good for Israel. That may well be the case. I believe that and so do quite a few people who support Israel. But this issue stands entirely apart from Paul’s larger “Blame Israel” worldview.

Ron Paul is not simply anti-foreign aid, he is anti-Israel. That is the country he has singled out for blame over and over again. And while he has every right to his opinion, conservative Jewish groups have a right not to give him a forum.

I agree about his misunderstanding of the Constitution, also. For example, he pretends that the constitution speaks only of “war” when it comes to offensive military action against other nations. It doesn’t. It speaks of considerable more like reprisals, operatives seizing ships (marque), of raising armies and navies, etc.

Have you noticed that Paul ALWAYS seems hesitant and shakey? This isn’t just age, either, because it’s been the same for years and years.

I don’t trust the man.

On the Huckabee forum, he was asked about getting rid of all those agencies. His response: he didn’t have a plan. He just said that it would have to be gradual.

In other words, it’s a phoney issue and he knows it. It’s some kind of red meat to paulinistas that he doesn’t have a clue how to implement: getting rid of social security, the education department, etc.

If you’re going to say you want to get rid of it, then you should at least be able to spell out your plan.

Yes, back in '82, when the Israeli army was about to suffer many casualties by entering Beirut and destroying the PLO, which they had trapped there, it was St. Ron Reagan that negotiated the deal to allow them to flee to Tripoli. The joo-hating Ron Paul was the only republican in DC to stand up on the House floor and criticize that deal.

Thanks to Reagan and the 800 US Marines sent there to escort the PLO to safety, Ron Paul didn't get his wish to see the Israelis suffer all those combat losses. And, as a bonus, the Israelis and the rest of the world got to enjoy yassir arafat's "good works" for another 22 years.

In the same vein, Ron Paul was about the only republican politician to criticize the US (Reagan again) UN vote to condemn Israel's attack on the Iraqi reactor. I guess his reasoning, him being a joo-hater and all, was that if we didn't condemn Israel for attacking perceived threats to their security, they'd use their military more often, thus taking more casualties.

What I think is that there are many rabid supporters who project on him some sort of weird aptitudes with out knowing who he actually is.
I want him to go away. He needs to spend time with his grand-kids and leave the rest of us alone.

It amazes me how easily people are frightened away from voting, and towards tyranny.

Foreign aid should be given to NO NATION, they either live or die on their own. Foreign entanglements will be the death of our nation, and a constant state of war is the result of the interventionists within both Democrat and Republican ranks. Has anyone noticed, that we have spent ourselves into bankruptcy, "defending liberty" around the world?

Pat Buchanans thesis was that our interfering in WW I was undue interference, and was the direct cause of WW II. That point is inarguable. If we let the idiots in Europe spend themselves into oblivion, and die in the trenches for centuries, I couldn't have cared less. The U.S. choosing sides, and "quickly ending" it, actually has led to war without end, with OUR sons and daughters now the fodder. WW II, was simply the result of us choosing sides against Germany, and allowing OUR FRIENDS, to apply sanctions against THEIR ENEMY. This war on terror, is also a joke. We attack Iran, and Afghanistan, when those who caused it were wearing Saudi robes. Again, we are setting up another war, which will directly result from these interventions.

Trade with everyone, talk to all, and defend our shores with extreme violence, what is isolationist about that?

In case any of you have forgotten, the nation created by MAN called Israel, is a sovereign nation. It was not instituted by a miraculous Exodus from Egypt, it came into being by a vote of the U.N., which most on this forum hate. Either it can take care of itself, or it deserves to be in the ash heap of history. No amount of support, financial or military, will keep it alive one day longer than it deserves to be, or God himself wants it to be. For those of you that believe God himself wants Israel protected, let the Israeli's turn to IAM, and let Him fight their battles? He has said He would, why are we artificially propping them up, and taking His place?

In short, to equate Pat Buchanan, or Ron Paul to Nazis and White supremacists, is nothing more than a repetition of propaganda, designed to keep the trillion dollar heist of our wallets ongoing, and worse, the theft of lives of so many of our best and brightest never ending. Ron Paul is not an isolationist, but he does put Americas interests first, in a different manner than the war parties will accept. For that reason, and that reason is enough, he must be destroyed. If his views were to be allowed to grow, some very rich and powerful people, would lose out. Trillions are truly at stake, and immense power. The power to literally rule the world, it is as simple as that.

If we vote for Obama, Gingrich or Romney, SSDD, and we deserve nothing more. For us to have any hope of dodging the coming collapse, if that is even possible, and a perpetual state of war, the only choice is Ron Paul. Sorry, but there is no other that stands with Liberty, for U.S. Just remember, the next "global cop" will most likely be wearing a PRC uniform, after we no longer can afford the "honor" of doing that job.

LJ T's point about hitler was a good one. You can not erase decades of Ron Paul's anti-Semitic behavior with two old examples of possible not anti-Semetic behavior.
Were his votes like most of them a smoke screen? He loads bills up with earmarks for his district when he knows they will pass, then votes against them, and start his blather about cutting.
How do we know based on your examples that he didn't use that tactic from the beginning.

“Foreign aid should be given to NO NATION, they either live or die on their own. “

Foreign aid SHOULD be used but sparingly; and for the right reasons.
We use it to influence things for OUR interests. There is NOTHING wrong with doing things in our nations best interests.
The Paul supporters who don't understand this are naive fools.
This foolish notion that we can just sit behind our borders and not interact in the world, is utterly foolish.

Ron Paul called Jews nazis. The man is either malicious or an idiot.

Israel is our only sure, long-term, committed ally in the Mid-East. National interest alone should prevent our kowtowing to their enemies.

God handled Israel’s international relationships in the past via the world’s great powers (Egypt, Babylon, Persia, Greeece, Rome). That suggests He might well do the same in our era.

Pat Buchanen and Ron Paul are anti-Israel. It’s a fact, and it’s not about foreign aid; they oppose the nation of Israel. Explain that.

BTW, Israel earns the military aid our own self-interest provided them.

Ron Paul wants Iran to have a nuclear bomb.

He believes in backing off and shutting up and leaving them alone.

That is isolationist with a bullet.

Worse than that, it is evidence that he doesn’t even believe in an ACTIVE Defense. He represents passive defense, the most dangerous variety of defense.

Very well said!

It's sane, rational FReepers like you that keep me coming back to a website dominated more and more every day by big-gov't (R) loving, neocon keyboard warriors.

Very few of us are able to grasp the fact that gov't, at the fed, state & local level, constitutes the bulk of the threat to our lives, liberty and property.

A question to you - do you agree that we, as individual Christians, have a duty to support Israel?

I think that we need to support any nation that promotes freedom and liberty. We also need to have a special relationship with Israel. That includes agreements to help them militarily if they are directly attacked, and free and open trading with them. I also see no problem with extending them credit to buy military hardware. I see problems when we extend our defensive borders to ANYWHERE in the world, for any problem. I see the problem as being that we are war, every minute, of every day, in far away lands, for people that hate us now, and will hate us more in the future. You can always find “friends” when handing out goodies. Cut all of them off, and find out who your friends truly are.

A question to you - do you agree that we, as individual Christians, have a duty to support Israel?

As your tagline announces your position (Ron Paul 2012), it also announces the answer you expect to this question about Christianity's support for Israel.

Of course we are to support Israel. It is our only dependable ally in the Mid-East.

I suspect, though, that you are asking if Christians are obligated by their religion to support Israel.

The Apostle Paul says in Romans 11:

1 I ask then: Did God reject his people? By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin.

2 God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew.

Don't you know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah--how he appealed to God against Israel: 3 "Lord, they have killed your prophets and torn down your altars; I am the only one left, and they are trying to kill me" ?

4 And what was God's answer to him? "I have reserved for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal."

5 So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace.

To reiterate Paul's words, at this time there is a remnant chosen by grace.

I'm saddened to hear this about Ron Paul. But concerning the descendants of Israel, God's promise to them is certain and all Christians would be wise to bless them and never forsake them.

God keeps all of His promises. Every. Single. One.

But this [shall be] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, [and] the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts [is] his name: If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, [then] the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.

Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD. - Jer 31:33-37

The total number and types of dimensions are both unknown and unknowable. God has not cast off the seed of Israel.

And the Song of Moses will be sung along with the Song of the Lamb:

And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, [and] over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. And they sing the song of Moses; the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous [are] thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true [are] thy ways, thou King of saints. Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for [thou] only [art] holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest. – Rev 15:2-4

His gifts and callings are without repentance:

For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: For this [is] my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

As concerning the gospel, [they are] enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, [they are] beloved for the fathers' sakes.

For the gifts and calling of God [are] without repentance. - Romans 11:25-29

God's Name is YHwH which means "He IS" - I AM!.

Amazing post, sister. Thank you for your insight.

The Lord, as The Apostle Paul clearly specifies, has not cast off Israel.

Occasionally Paul switches gears and points out that a cutoff in foreign aid would be good for Israel. That may well be the case. I believe that and so do quite a few people who support Israel.

Greenfield endorses Ron Paul's proposed Israeli aid cutoff?

Apparently he has no problem with discussing foreign aid. This article was his effort to clarify that Ron Paul is anti-Israel, and that opposing foreign aid isn’t what makes Paul anti-Israel.

xzins,

I get that the article you shown above makes the allegation that Paul is anti-Israel. However it doesn't really sync up with the interview on newmax with him, straight from the horses mouth. I personally really would like to stop giving Israels enemies my tax dollars and weapons as Paul suggests we should in his interview. I also don't like it when every president makes a show of trying to make peace in the middle east by demanding Israel do this or that or modify thier boarders. Which is what he is saying when he says we shouldn't try to be thier masters...

CJ, I did read the article, but, the same as with Romney, Paul’s past contradicts everything he’s saying in Newsmax.

I’ll ping you to a new thread that deals with more of Paul’s anti-semitism.

Thanks xzins.
Ron Paul supporters will clamor that... the Ron Paul Survival Report... was... written for years by some mysterious stranger pretending to be Ron Paul. This unknown stranger discussed his time in Congress, his medical career and his wife Carol all in the first person. That the media actually bought this ridiculous explanation, even while actual Republicans were lynched for much less than writing in support of David Duke, should tell you all you need to know about Paul's cheerleaders in the mainstream media... In an interview with Iranian television, Ron Paul complained that the president had not said anything to Israel about its horrible massacre, compared Gaza to a concentration camp, and made it rather clear that he sympathized with the terrorists. It wasn't some unknown mysterious stranger signing Paul's name to hateful screeds. It was the man himself doing an interview with the agents of a murderous regime responsible for the murders of numerous Americans. What about the following statement in the House of Representatives? "Bin Laden’s claims are straightforward. The U.S. defiles Islam with military bases on holy land in Saudi Arabia, its initiation of war against Iraq, with 12 years of persistent bombing, and its dollars and weapons being used against the Palestinians as the Palestinian territory shrinks and Israel's occupation expands. There will be no peace in the world for the next 50 years or longer if we refuse to believe why those who are attacking us do it." Ron Paul isn’t calling for impartiality or agitating for non-interventionism because he supports Jewish self-reliance, but because he believes that Israel is the source of our problems.

Even a newtard should know that when you bring up hitler, you're signaling intellectual defeat.

Except when it is true. Only those whose view of history is limited to pop culture hold to the notion that any mention of Adolf Hitler or anti-Semitism is forbidden.

Only an idiot would think that history does not repeat itself, or that people do not tread the same tired paths.

As much of a whack job that Ron Paul is you certainly have to admit that with him he lays it all out on the table for all to see.

Pat Buchanans thesis was that our interfering in WW I was undue interference, and was the direct cause of WW II. That point is inarguable.

On the contrary, the point is very arguable.

Germany's neighbors punished and humiliated that country with the harsh conditions set forth in the Treaty of Versailles. THAT, is what set Europe on the path to WWII, not America's participation in the First World War.

Hitler didn't declare war on the United States until after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. He'd already been making war against his European neighbors for years, at that point.

Funny how the Blame America Firsters always twist history to make America the bad guy.
