We have several more "hundreds" right here "ocupying" whatever public property they can to burn the flag and deficate on police cars. How many more billions of dollars do you think you spent on that? Worse, the blight and trash is on your streets. I'm not defending the muzzies, but our citizens have had every availble freedom, assistance, and privelage...the Iraqis have been subject to a murderous death cultv and oppression since the what 6th century?
I would say the "hundreds" statistic is telling. This article is a leftist (article is from france) talking points to illustrate how terrible the US is. Funny how the last sentence compares it to Vietnam. Wasn't Vietnam/indochina originally a french problem?
Sounds to me that the media is trying to make out like there are more supporters of the anti-US crowd than thre is. I figured after four OIF tours and having been wounded as an 0331 during Al-Fajr I rated my 2 cents as muh as anyone.

Well, actually, I though we took him out because he was bankrolling terrorists in Israel and we thought he had nuclear weapons and had already invaded and tried to take over Kuwait as well as violating a no-fly zone and trying to take down allied jets attempting to enforce it.
But you can make arguments both ways.
I think Bush really scared the locals when we went in and took him out. We should probably have taken out the Iranian Mullahs and then the Syrians and then just puilled out. Message delivered.
Where we screw up is trying to make these people “civilized”. Impossible as long as they are Muslims.
As for being concerned about the Iraqi people - the very ingrates who are acting oout against us now, the people who exercized their new found “freedom” by sucking up to Iran, threatening Israel and driving out the Chaldean and Assyrian Christians, they can all rot in the Hell they belong in as far I am concernded.
My sole interest in that part of the globe circles around our oil supplies. The rest is irrelevant.

There are remnants of AQI in Anbar Province (where Fallujah is) as well as some Saddam loyalists.
I'm sure there will be people in places like Najaf and Sadr City doing things like this is well. These are where followers of that nasty Muqtada al Sadr congregate.
They're not all gonna love us - especially in a Middle Eastern country.
But those flag-burners don't represent all of Iraq any more than the OWS scum represent all of us.

I actually don't believe that. There was no hard evidence, none. But there was enough soft evidence to use nuclear weapons as an excuse for war. Bush II needed an excuse to take out Saddam and "nation-build." No democracy should be looking for an excuse to go to war.

I was reading another thread about some islamic idjiot wants us to respect islam. If this is what they act like, I say get out and never go help them again.
Well, it is the way they act and I say they’re on their own. We can help Israel keep them contained if we must do something.
But, I saw what was done and what changed. I saw the rich benefits of what occurred and nothing will change what I observed, some of it from the 50-yardline.

They have more money to throw at pandering western politicians and are sneakier in their approach to advance Islam.

I don’t think for one minute the Iranians are developing nuclear weapons because they fear an attack from Barack Obama. I think they are doing it to project their power and influence regionally and worldwide. I think they are ver dangerous people.
Whne we took out Saddam, Khdaffi started making VERY consiliatory statements and I believe he even voluntarily surrendered some weapons. The Iranian students were rioting in Tehran hoping Bush would take out the Mullahs. Even the Syrians were quaking in their boots.
Bliztkried. Move in. Use overwhelming modern technological force. Destroy their military. Pull out asap. DON’T OCCUPY and let THEM pick up the pieces. Vae Victis!!!
But I agree with you in the sense that we should ONLY get involved when our own overwhelming strategic interests are involved and NEVER get involved with “nation- building”.
