“That is why I am voting for Rick Perry come Hell or High Water.”

Better wear waders, and prepare for a long swim. Perry’s out.

Afraid you have me confused with another poster. I never said I would not vote for Newt if he wins the nomination. I would. I just don’t think he has that innate toughness I want in a president. I think Perry has it.

Newt would get this woman’s vote because I believe the Republic is in danger. He won’t get the vote of women who prioritize watching E & the Lifetime Channel.

There is still a fair amount of social pressure on women to hide their intellect and confine their discourse to superficial topics. That was a fear in giving women the vote. And look what’s happened since we got it. My own mother has long supported Romney because he is handsome & is married to his first wife. She doesn’t inform herself about his positions.

I think you may be right. Newt is simply not very appealing, though his debate skills are great. And Calista may be a wonderful lady, but she is the most plastic looking woman.

“Ronald Reagan won that election 51% to Carters 41% and Anderson’s 7%.”

My first presidential election to vote in. I was such a fool then. Those early days, before Rush. Mind full of mush. I was one of the 7%. LOL.

Worth repeating — again and again:

“To: SnuffaBolshevik
I will not vote for Obama or third party either.

But I have to stand on principle this time and will not hold my nose like I did when I voted for McCain.

I’m not looking for a smooth talker or smooth debater, I’m looking for a principled conservative who has a solid record.

That in my opinion is Perry.

Perry has been taking to Obama for 3 years already.
He has fought Obama (and Bush) on Stimulus, Tarp, Epa, Illegal Immigration and the list goes on.

If Perry wins nomination and goes against Obama, he will bring a huge contrast. Obama cannot debate without his teleprompter and is prone to gafts himself.

What will Perry tell Odumbo?

Perry will tell Obama he spent more (Texans) money and Texan manpower on the border than Obama did.

Perry will ask Obama why he ran guns to the Mexican Cartel.

Perry will tell him he created jobs while Obama lost jobs.

Perry will tell Obama he is Pro-Life and defunded Abortion Clinics in Texas.

Perry will tell Obama he got tort reform passed to help businesses hire more people.

Perry will tell Obama he cut taxes in Texas.

Perry will tell Obama he balanced the State budget.

Perry will tell Obama Obamacare was wrong and needs to be repealed.

Perry will tell Obama he supported Israel - Obama did not.
Perry has awards from Israel for defending Israel.

Perry will tell Obama he is stronger on the 10th Amendment.
Nobody and I mean nobody is stronger on the 10th Amendment than Perry.

Perry will tell Obama he is stronger on the 2nd Amendment.
Nobody and I mean nobody is a stronger supporter of the right to own guns than Perry. Nobody.

What’s Obama going to say? I’m a supporter of guns for the drug cartel???????????????

Perry has experience - Only Perry and Romney has experience in governing - you choose

Perry will confront Obama on job killing regulations.

Perry will tell Obama he cut spending in Texas.

Perry will remind Obama that he served in our military as a C-130 Pilot in the United States Air Force.

Obama will: I’m better because I uh uh um uh uh um uh uh um uh uh um uh I can work with foreign leaders?

Perry will remind Obama that he Rick Perry will NOT BOW DOWN TO ANYONE EXCEPT GOD.

YOU WILL NOT SEE PERRY APOLOGIZING FOR AMERICA EITHER!

Perry has had to deal with an international border that was suppose to be secured by the Federal Government on behalf of all the United States.

Perry has had to deal with Obama Administration that does nothing - except send troops to other countries.

Perry has had to deal with a United States Government that is corrupt and has committed treasonous crimes by running guns into Mexico to criminal drug cartels.

Perry has had to deal with a Supreme Court order that we educate illegals.

Perry has had to deal with a Homeland Security and ICE that will not punish violators, will not deport violators but instead puts them right back on the streets.

WHAT CANDIDATE has dealt with illegal immigration and with a border not secured by Obama?

WHAT CANDIDATE has fought tooth and nail with Obama for 3 years?

WHAT CANDIDATE has experience dealing with a 1200 mile border - they have not. They know nothing about it but
Perry does.

WHAT CANDIDATE has got laws passed to defund Abortion or made it mandatory that women get a sonogram before making that decision? Perry did. And now Obama is fighting back against Perry and Texas for doing so even while Planned Parenthood is closing down clinics here in Texas.

WHAT CANDIDATE got laws passed to require a Voter ID so that illegals cannot vote. Perry did. Now Obama and Holder are fighting Perry and Texas over this as well.

WHAT CANDIDATE created an environment that resulting in a better standard of living? Perry did.

WHAT CANDIDATE got tort reforms in place to get businesses back to hiring people? Perry did.

WHAT CANDIDATE lowered taxes, lowered regulations and fought against Obama regarding the EPA? Perry did.

WHAT CANDIDATE jumped in and helped Arizona in their fight against Obama? Perry did.

WHAT CANDIDATE put their constituents own money and manpower on the border to fight the drug wars? Perry did, Texans did and all the while Obama is running guns TO the cartel.

Perry takes crap from the Feds every day every week every month every year. And he still oversaw one of the best economies in the US.

WHAT CANDIDATE HAS BEEN HANDING OBAMA HIS ASS ALMOST DAILY?

RICK PERRY HAS.

That is why I am voting for Rick Perry come Hell or High Water.”

Couldn’t agree more.

That is complete “BS”

The women, inclusing many Liberal women voted for Clinton after all his female interactions....

Newt is by far more Conservative than Romney. Do people forget that it was Newt that actually balanced a budget, got Clinton to sign welfare reform. He was a very effective speaker despite some of his perceived failings...

Somehow I think that all these polls are propaganda polls, designed to give us the wisdom that voting for anyone but Romney will be disatrous for us. Any one else?

Perry links himself to military, cites record
Published - Dec 15 2011 02:08AM EST

PHILIP ELLIOTT, Associated Press

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (AP) — Every now and then, Rick Perry seems to stop campaigning for president. That’s when he talks about the men and women who have served in uniform — including himself.

“We’ve got a lot of heroes: young men and women that we’ve watched from afar, sometimes up close and personal,” the Texas governor said slowly during an otherwise fiery campaign speech to launch a thousand-mile bus tour here Wednesday. “Sometimes, it was your friends and family.”

Perry’s campaign is looking for a second wind with mere weeks to go until Iowa starts the Republican nominating process with its Jan. 3 caucuses. He is lagging in the polls and is working hard to recapture the fervor of his August entry into the race.

A refocused campaign speech plays up the uniform. Heading into Thursday’s debate in Sioux City, look for Perry to highlight his four years flying C-130s in the Air Force.

On Wednesday, Perry reminded Iowans of his military record.

“Growing up in Paint Creek, Texas, I learned some values — just like those of you that grew up in small towns in Iowa — hard work, faith, family were really important,” he said. “Serving your community, serving your state, serving your country. I’ll never be able to give back to this country what it has given to me. Part of my attempt to do that was serving in the United States Air Force.”

The crowd interrupted with applause.

“My purpose in life has never been to be the president of the United States,” Perry said. “My purpose in life has been to serve my country.”

From the beginning, Perry hoped military issues would help him. During a September speech at Liberty University, the nation’s largest evangelical school, he encouraged students to honor fallen military members by living a moral life.

“A great many of those who perished were approximately your age. Young men and women whose entire future was in front of them. They sacrificed their dreams to preserve yours,” Perry said. “Because of what they gave, I simply ask you to make the most of the freedom that they sacrificed.”

During the first days of his campaign, he all but cried when talking about a Navy SEAL killed in Afghanistan “so a guy like me can stand up on a soapbox at the Iowa State Fair and talk freely about freedom and liberty and America and that we are an exceptional country and we’re going to stay an exceptional country.”

Perry’s campaign is looking to tap into the pool of veterans — reliable, older voters who helped Sen. John McCain win the nomination in 2008 — and families of military members.

Rep. Ron Paul of Texas is the only other military veteran seeking the presidential nomination. Paul was a flight surgeon in the Air Force and Air Force National Guard in the 1960s; Perry served in the 1970s.

If the GOP nominates anyone but Perry or Paul, it will be the first presidential campaign in 68 years to feature two candidates with no military record. President Barack Obama did not serve in uniform — a fact Perry once sought to exploit.

“The president had the opportunity to serve his country I’m sure, at some time, and he made the decision that that wasn’t what he wanted to do,” Perry told a Cedar Rapids crowd back in August.

Great- you must love Obama then My attitude is I would vote for my dog over Obama because at least when my dog licks his b*lls he does it with out creating a trillion dollar deficit and ramping up federal regulations. Any one that is a constitutional American would vote for ANY candidate other than Obama, yes Obama is that bad!

Ther is a difference between balancing a budget and running no deficits. I can create a spending plan (budget) that includes deficits. Gingrich forced Clinton to live with in his budget but the budget still included deficits!

I agree, gas is over double what it was when Obama was elected, inflation is eating into the grocery bill, being laid off is a real worry for many Americans, and as Clinton ton said “It's the economy stupid”. The Democrats and Obama can spin their vision of the economy any way they want but when it takes $200.00 To half fill a shopping cart Americans notice, Inflation is only going to increase no matter what Obama says because of the trillions of dollars he and the Democrats have dumped into the economy. Newt can make that argument. I support Cain, and Gingrich, but even if the slip is showing on the candidate that eventually wins I will vote for that person, even Huntsman because Obama is bent on destroying America and ANY ONE would be better! Even Jimahhy Carter..

B/S! I am surrounded by people that are “apolitical” and no one and I mean no one talks about Paul or Huntsman. As far as women not voting for Newt is B/S as well. This country is waking up to the fact that their husband’s won’t be able to retire and their children’s future looks very bad. This in my opinion is why Newt is rocketing. The country is scared and the person’s past doesn’t mean squat. We need someone that can get us out of this mess.

I disagree, women would not support Bachmann. Bachmann is too sucessful, attractive and too heterosexual. But Bachmann is not ready for primetime.

This is crap.

National opinion polls continue to show Carter leading Reagan by an apparently comfortable margin of about 25%.
