This isn't "surprising" as Romney backed her during her campaign for governor and wrote a $3500.00 check to her campaign.

Also Haley endorsed Romney for president in 2008.

She also wrote an OpEd with Gov. Rick Perry.

"We oppose an increase in the federal debt limit unless three common-sense conditions are met: substantial cuts in spending; enforceable spending caps to put the country on a path to a balanced budget; and congressional passage of a balanced-budget amendment to the U.S. Constitution. That amendment should include a requirement for a congressional supermajority to approve any raises in taxes." Break the spend-and-borrow cycle

THE PLEDGE

I pledge to urge my Senators and Member of the House of Representatives to oppose any debt limit increase unless all three of the following conditions have been met:

1. Cut - Substantial cuts in spending that will reduce the deficit next year and thereafter.
2. Cap - Enforceable spending caps that will put federal spending on a path to a balanced budget.
3. Balance - Congressional passage of a Balanced Budget Amendment to the U.S. Constitution -- but only if it includes both a spending limitation and a super-majority for raising taxes, in addition to balancing revenues and expenses.

Rick Perry and Nikki Haley, Thursday, July 14, 2011 - “As governors of states whose residents, like all Americans, are desperate for the restoration of fiscal responsibility in Washington, we are proud to have signed the “Cut, Cap and Balance Pledge amid the debate over once again raising the federal debt ceiling.

Mitt won’t fight a strong congress.

He won't fight a strong liberal congress -- IMO (I'm from MA). I do see him fighting a conservative congress.

Remember when all the FReepers were urinating over themselves over Nikki Haley? Simply because Sarah endorsed her?

I'm a fan of Sarah but she also endorsed John McCain, the loser woman from Nevada who couldn't beat Harry Reid even though his son was trounced in the same year...

I'd love to see a history of some of the "ZOMG Nikki Haley is the next President, maybe she is actually the Messiah."

Now, "OMG she is a RINO!!!"

Just so ya'll know Google backs up everyone's posts! So you can't hide from what you said October 2010!!!

How quickly these politicians turn their back on the TEA Party. Haley would have gone down in flames if it had not been for Sarah Palin saving her sorry hide.

“God help us all if former Governor Sarah Palin decides to endorse Mitt Romney.

I cannot imagine the wailing and shrieks of rage from sea to shining sea if she were to embark upon such folly.”

I would hope that if Mittens get the nomination, the Tea Party will try to field a presidential candidate and begin the process of splitting away from the RINOs.

Nikki, endorse all you like. Now figure out where you will get all the Rrepublican voters to cast their ballot for him in November after he has trashed all the conservatives during the debates.

Here’s one voter who has never not voted for the republican presidential nominee. There’s always a forst time for everything. Perhaps Karl Rove can figur eout how RINOs can vote multiple times like the Dems do.

IF Romney gets the nomination; and by the polls right now that’s a very big IF, then yes, Sarah Palin will endorse him.

She has said as much, numerous times. Now she didn’t say Romney specifically, but she did say she’d support whoever the nominee will be.

I read through a bunch of posts and have yet to see one that even hinted at the possibility that Governor Haley made up her mind based on what she thought was best for the nation.

Gingrich has spent a lot of time courting her. This endorsement (assuming accurate reports) says a lot more about him, than about her or Romney.

Haley has been no stranger to criticizing Gingrich in the past:

On May 17, 2011 (well before the Newt surge):

Gov. Nikki Haley hammers Gingrich over Medicare remarks

Dallas (CNN) - Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich might not want to count on a presidential endorsement from South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley.

In an interview with CNN Tuesday, Haley sharply admonished Gingrich for his comments over the weekend disparaging the Medicare plan proposed by House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan as "radical change" and "right-wing social engineering."

The remarks opened a floodgate of conservative criticism, with elite opinion writers on down to Iowa voters accusing Gingrich of throwing his own party under the bus and making it easier for Democrats to attack the Ryan plan.

Why? Because politicians want to climb the GOP establishments’ ladder? Remember - It’s ALL about them and not our country.

"the loser woman from Nevada who couldn't beat Harry Reid "

Watch it, buster.

Sharron Angle couldn't beat the 50,000+ fraudulent votes that were created for Reid by his union thugs.

Nobody could beat that.

Beats the heck out of me that people would vote for someone based on an endorsement by another politician. Even if it’s Palin with the endorsement. Big deal. People need to think for themselves as to who they’ll vote for and not based somebody’s endorsement.

It’s just my opinion.

He won’t fight a Conservative congress either. He will steal some credit though.
