That's why I say it wasn't Perot that made Bush lose in 1992, it was Bush that made Bush lose in 92, when he reneged on "Read My Lips!"
You realize, of course, that the Packers are a great football team, but that the Rockies are a mediocre baseball team.
It’s not “pimpage” really. It’s more like an ultimatum to the GOP about Romney and Paul.
Run either and 3rd Party is the better choice for a principled conservative.
Bullseye, uncbob! Right on the money!
Yep ... Basic common sense.
Did his Republican opponents in the primaries run ads against Bush?
“Romney’s SCOTUS appointments would be just as liberal”
Yeah; last night he had no problem admitting he had nominated people that would make the libs in Mass. happy. That’s a huge red flag that should make all of us pay attention. I’m not a fan of “compromise”.
It just seems to me that saying one must vote repub lest a dem get elected is like saying one must steer into Charybdis to avoid Scylla.
On the other hand there is no third party. Where oh where is our Thetis, er Sarah.
What we need to do is never reelect anybody. Then mix the vote up so no party has enough power to accomplish anything - aka gridlock. Make everything except defense and a few others all part time - especially the executive, the congress, and the courts - the more time they spend golfing the safer our liberty is. (Some humor intended)
The third way is a brokered convention.
Then they won't be as likely to count your protest vote.
Better to write-in something like Sarah Palin, although in some states they don't count write-ins of non-application write-in candidates.
I would love to see a 3rd party candidate. Run, Hillary, run!!!
perhaps.
Unless you think the GOP establishment has insured the delegates are in line with the establishment...especially at-large and super delegates.
If Romney is our nominee, Hillary wouldn’t make any difference.
Hillary = Obama = Romney = Kennedy = Kerry
Respectfully, this is complete nonsense.
Mitt is not my first choice, and I'll not vote for him in the primary; however, if he wins the GOP nod, I'll work hard (only legal means, of course) to get him elected.
I have 2 "kids" in uniform, and I think that it's pretty easy to tell how Mister Obama and his peeps don't give a darn for them, or their mission.
Mitt, at least, gets the importance of a strong defense and military; and that is more than important when our enemies are arming to the teeth (and gathering south of the border from the info on last night's debate.)
Is the Second Amendment important to you? You can bet that a second term Obama would make firearm possession illegal (even though you think he can't).
There is no perfect candidate (even Ronald Reagan had some "issues"). But we have to suspect now that Obama will see to it that a third party candidate takes votes from whomever we run, and we need to be prepared to see a third party candidacy (and resultant Obama victory) as a serious changer to very our way of life.
.
I think we are looking at more than 3 candidates next fall.
If Romney gets the GOP nod, the Tea Party is going to go independent. I think they will try and take down the GOP Establishment once and for all. Plus you’ve got egomaniacs like Huntsman and Trump with lots of money, and Paul who is liable to make an independent run. Plus I suspect an OWS/Punish the Bankers candidate may arise to the left of Obama.
In that scenario Barry wins if he can cobble together a thin plurality of self-perceived victims...which appears to be his strategy.
Since three forces are already at play, and the DemLibs have gone way over to the left, the ERs have moved 'centrist' to fill the vacuum.
The first battle is between the ERs and Cons, then it's on to the general against the DLs.
What the ERs refuse to admit is that their guy only wins when the DLs hand it to them (as is shaping up with Obama).
Then, they squander the win by imposing Democrat-lite which furthers the lefty agenda by not stopping it in it's tracks (as a Conservative would) and the dance continues as we change the lead in the dance over and over.
A constitutional conservative is the only thing that can interrupt this 'dance' with a 'tap'-on-the-shoulder, followed by a kick-in-the-nuts of the lefty in drag.(They try to look and talk American, but you know how they lie.)
Same thing we hear every four years....
I like those ideas. I agree that many in the Tea Party will feel betrayed if another big spending rino like Romney gets the nod. The OWS people seem to have no loyalty to Obama, so an OWS candidate is reasonable, and Trump does have the money to take out on his own.
Any or all three of those could happen.
great analysis...but i do hope you have asbestos undie on ...
