I'm having trouble warming up to the concept of a 'President Gingrich' but if the alternative is Romney or Obama, I'll go with Newt. That the GOP establishment as well as leftist hacks such as the execrable Barney Frank are attacking Gingrich, he must be a threat. So, I'm leaning his way but awaiting the outcome of the Iowa caucuses, which could bring a surprise, as they did in 2008 (Huckabee).

As most FReepers understand, this is our last chance to get it right. We elect another big-government president, even one who claims to be a rock-ribbed conservative, and the U.S. as we know and love it is going to be finished. We can't afford another Beltway insider that keeps the corrupt system going as it drives our nation off the cliff of bankruptcy and all the negative ramifications that would generate.

Newt talks a good conservative game but I hope he is being real and not simply pandering for conservative votes that he'll pocket, then ignore the people behind those votes if he wins the election. We may have to elect him to find out. I see that as a risk but inevitably, one conservatives may have to take due to the absolute necessity to oust the Kenyan Marxist, Obama.
