An ad run by a super PAC supporting Mitt Romney levels a series of charges against GOP rival Newt Gingrich including a pretty sleazy mischaracterization of Gingrichs stand on abortion, The Washington Post concluded in a fact check.
The ad by Restore Our Future charges, among other things, that as Speaker of the House Gingrich supported taxpayer funding of some abortions, that he was paid $30,000 an hour by Freddie Mac, and that he was the only Speaker of the House in history to be reprimanded.
The Post found that there was no evidence [Gingrich] was actually paid $30,000 an hour, and that on the issue of taxpayer funded abortions, Gingrich was simply reiterating the text of the so-called Hyde Amendment at the time, which banned public funding of abortions except in cases of rape and incest or to save the life of the mother.

Romney’s right that he supports taxpayer funded abortion.
Why does Newt refuse to do the right thing and stand up for the unborn?
That would be the mitt romeny every businessman in the NE knows and despises. Romney is obama light.
I would be much more inclinded to support Romney on the issues, even if I don’t agree with all of them - except for his continuous and extreme attacks on the other Republican candidates. He sounds just like Harry Reid with his rhetoric and we don’t need a leading Republican candidate making commercials that sound like they were written by Michael Moore.
He should have figured out (like Newt has) that the best way to win popularity from the Republican voter is to criticize DEMOCRATS.
