Nearly half say there is no candidate who would make a good president
Americans are divided when asked if there is any candidate running who they think would make a good president, with 48% saying yes and 46% saying no. This is a slightly more positive outlook than that of 1992, when an incumbent president was also seeking re-election, but more pessimistic than in the election years of 2008 and 2000.

Gallup has asked this question in the presidential election years of 1992, 1996, 2000, and 2008, but at different points in the election cycle.
In 1992, the question was first asked in January, a few weeks further into the election cycle than is the case for the current poll. At that point, 40% of Americans said there was a candidate running who they thought would make a good president, slightly below the current 48%. The 1992 election is similar in broad respects to the current election, in that it also featured an incumbent president with relatively low approval ratings seeking re-election, with the opposition party having not yet coalesced around a strong front-running challenger.
One manifestation of this displeasure with the presidential field in 1992 was the emergence of third-party candidate Ross Perot, who, despite dropping out and then re-entering the race,...

Of all Presidential condidates, the one I’m most disapointed in is Obamalamadingdangdong.
It’s surely not a field of candidates that look like they might make historic impact for the good.
What the heck is wrong with the 50+ percent who think there is a good candidate?
‘Tis the Season of Miracles. I sure am praying for a few.
Anyone but Obuggery as there is no one who is worse.
Amen, amen!
Vote for Newt, he sucks less.
Before you peckerwoods start slobbering over Ross Perot again, please realize that he was promised medical ID’s by Clinton ( Hillary care ) for his company (or likely new company). This was worth several billion dollars. Were it not for this he would have never have left his porch. Almost as many were suckered by Perot as with this Obama (if that is his real name).
Hey Ross, you can’t take it with you....
If they asked ‘are you paying attention to the 2012 presidential election and candidates?’ probably 85% would say ‘no’.

The general population are not paying attention and won’t, until it is primary time in their state.
The most-watched debate was the recent one on ABC, because it was broadcast on a night (Saturday) that had little competing programming. The debates have had between about 3 million and 7.5 million viewers, and most of the viewers are the same ones for most of the debates.
I will NOT vote for the lesser of two evils - again! I’ve done it since 1952 and this time I intend to vote for the person I feel is best qualified to lead us out of this swamp. I’ll be damned if I’ll vote for some dimbulb just because a bunch of Beltway Bigots won’t go to bat for the best candidate. That candidate isn’t presently “running” but even if she doesn’t get back in the race I’ll write in Sarah Palin!
Newt su*cks the most along with Huntsman.
Rick Santorum has the highest favorables of the GOP field and is a real conservative. The pool was by Gallup or another firm.
Oh and for not backing Pat Toomey because Bush and Rove told Santorum to back Specter....”conservative” Toomey supported and voted for gays in the military.
Check Newt’s voting record, global warming TV ads, Dede Scozafava and other BS. Newt is a CFR/NWO member with Clinton and is as bad as McCain and Lindsay Graham. Newt and Clinton pushed through some of the worst anti-Constitutional BS when Newt ran the House. Look it up.
Newt treated conservative voters like he treated his ex-wives.
I wonder how many of them have the intelligence to pick a decent presidential candidate anyway?
2012 is looking an awful lot like 2008.
Ugly and uglier.
Merry Christmas!
Bachmann, Santorum, & Perry are the only candidates which conservatives should support at this time. Of those 3, Bachmann is the only one with a strong position against illegal immigration, which will decide the future of the American republic. No one should be settling for a quasi-conservative like Gingrich while these 3 are still in the running.
If you don't for less damage, your voting for the current occupant. That is how Blagovich got a second term in Illinois. Everybody knew he was a rotten SOB but 11% of voters went green party because the republicans had a weak candidate. He got reelected and continued to cause immense damage to the state.
See my tag line.
Draft Palin
Dittos. She's the best we've got, and I'll be damned if anyone but the best is going to get my vote again.
