What an absurd exercise in total political correctness and abysmal ignorance.
By all mainstream muslim definition, a muslim can NEVER pledge allegiance to any group or entity that places islam second.
Since islam is an inseperable Political System as well as a Military one and a list of minute rules for living one's life, it would need to become something different (unlikely) before a military member can honestly pledge allegiance to the United States of America, and to her institutions, including the Constitution.
But it does make the clueless feel good.
