Kent Sorenson, Bachmann’s Iowa chair, defects to Paul
Washington Post ^ | 12/28/11 | Rachel Weiner

Talk about fairweather friends. Iowa state Sen. Kent Sorenson (R), who was Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann’s state campaign chairman, endorsed Texas Rep. Ron Paul Wednesday night.

At a rally in Des Moines, Sorenson told the crowd, “We’re going to take Ron Paul all the way to the White House.”

He did not tell Bachmann of his decision until he was en route to the Paul rally, billed as an event for veterans.

“This is hard,” he said of his decision to leave Bachmann, explaining that he felt obligated to defend Paul against the Republican establishment. He elaborated in a statement, saying he felt Paul was the most conservative candidate who had a realistic shot at defeating former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney.

Wow, he just lost the trust of anyone in the future handling it like that. The fact that he may have switched over to that nutjob Paul for a few pieces of gold taints him even more. Makes you wonder how good a job he was (not) doing for Bachmann.

Maybe not so much “for the money,” as “because of who has the money.” Bachmann is a fine lady, but she doesn’t have the money or momentum to challenge Romney. Gingrich is running out of money (see: Virginia signatures). Santorum never had any money. Huntsman...is Romney without money.

So, you’re left with Romney and Paul. They have the money to seriously challenge for the nomination. Take your pick; one of them will likely be the nominee. This guy chose Paul, who, if nothing else, is not part of the GOP establishment, whatever his other faults.

Kent Sorenson is despicable. I hope the people of Iowa, who are in his Senatorial District, remember what a political whore he is when he comes up for reelection.

Is Kent Sorenson any relation to Ted Sorenson, the suck up to the JFK family who promised to “never let Camelot die”?

“What a scumbag.”

He is a political hack. There are no virtuous politicians or political operatives in America today. I no longer have high expectations of anyone involved in the political process. The patriots have been dead for years.

It says much about Iowa Republicans when the chairman endorses a candidate before the caucus.

Definitely not. He is TOTAL RINO

Republicans do not blame America for every problem in the world, they do not endorse OWS, they do not want to destroy our military. Republicans do not want Iran to have a nuclear bomb, most Republicans do not want to experiment with allowing perverts in the military.
Cut and Run is much more like Obama than any Republican. About the only difference between the surrender monkey and Obama is that even Obama realized the world is a safer place without OBL. Cut and Run thought we violated his civil right to kill infidels.

That is the crazy part. Sorenson was definitely a large factor in Bachmann’s Iowa Straw Poll victory.

“When President Obama opined during his 2011 State of the Union speech that a corporate tax-rate cut might be just the thing for America after a year of record corporate profits, his left-wing base was shocked and dismayed. Heck, some conservatives were caught offguard, too. Perhaps they hadn’t noticed who was running the Obama administration: In large part, the same guys who plan to be running the next Republican administration.”

Actual conservatives like Bachmann will never be welcome in the club of interior decorator termites that are nibbling away at the woodwork of the Republic for their own enrichment.

Fahgedaboudit.
