"The illegals I met last night."
Self | 1/1/2012 | Bern Pearson

I met some illegal Mexicans last night at a party. Several years ago I stayed with a couple of wonderful Mexican families in the Baja below California. These were well-off people. The homes, on average were beautifully tiled and some of them had mahogany inlaid walls, bookshelves and cabinetry that would cost a hundred-thousand dollars here. So, I’m guessing if they aren’t rich they’re very comfortable. The elderly not as well-off grandfather, while living in Mexico was receiving Social Security from the United States and owned a rent-free apartment in California which he used as his address to receive several forms of assistance checks from Californian agencies. He visited the apartment once a week to re-arrange things and make it looked lived in. He had a car, a Toyota Corolla that looked quite nice and had working air-conditioning. I gathered it was supplied as some form of assistance and he generally left it in California at the apartment. The apartment was about 1100 square feet and very livable. The grandfather told me most of entire complex, easily a 1000 units, were like him, on Californian assistance, but actually living in Mexico.

At the party were a couple of teenage boys from this family. Very nice kids. I’d be proud to have them as my own; diligent, hard working, trouble-free and much more adult than you’d expect from that age. They told me that they’d decided to go to high school in California instead of Mexico. They said that the (California) government gave them an apartment and they travel back to Mexico on the weekends. (I don’t know if they’re staying alone or if a family member is staying with them, but if I had to guess, they came alone.)

When I posted information on this family last time, Freepers angrily asked why I hadn’t reported them. Firstly, I was a well-treated guest. Secondly, this must be obvious to the casual observer. Even if I knew who to report it to in California, which I don’t, it is obvious that this is how it’s done. These people are only taking advantage of “benefits” put there for them. Not to avail themselves of these benefits would be like deciding not to take candy freely offered to you.

Neither will ICE!
Ihey are turning the illegals loose in Maricopa County because Joe Arpio is a racist that only arrests Mexicans.
I guess there are no Anglos or Africans or Orientals in the Maricopa County jail.

Hmmm. I seem to have said that incorrectly. Let’s try “my wife’s sister-in-law.” In other words the woman who married my wife’s brother, has a father who’s a bum.

I've long wondered why it seems that politicians, especially in the SouthWest, have pandered to illegal aliens, who after all, aren't supposed to be able to vote. Then it occurred to me. The reason is simple. It's just self-preservation. These people have seen the way the government allows the invasion of the South West, and realize that some day, those states will be "reclaimed" by Mexico. These people who have done so much for the illegal aliens hope to ingratiate themselves to the alien invaders, and make for themselves a "history" of providing aid to the invaders. Sort of like the Vichy in France during WWII.

The politicians in California do this to buy votes. You can bet this entire family will run back to California come election time and vote for whichever party gives them the most goodies.

It’s true, even if you reported them that nothing would happen. In fact, if you report them there’s more chance of the law coming down on YOU than them.

I see no light at the end of the tunnel for the future of California.

Visualize Californians swirling the toilet bowl while their leaders are reaching out and up to pull the flush handle.

Creating government handouts helps people feel less guilty about collective guilt they accept, and prsonal guilt they have from screwing over people at work and in life. They no longer have to care about doing a good job if the nanny state is there. Kind of like how country club prisons don’t stop white collar crime. A couple years at club fed to exercise, work on a book, and de-caffeinate is a small price for some r’assholes.

The insanity that the rest of the taxpayers and their children in the U.S. will be paying for when this state goes belly-up and has to be bailed out while leaving all of its dysfunctional welfare programs intact.

I don't think so. I think that there's a choreographed plan to bankrupt the state, while bringing in more and more illegal aliens. Once there are enough illegal aliens in the South West, they just raise the Mexican flag, and Mexico reclaims the entire region without a shot fired.

Washington will do nothing.

I helped start a Telemundo TV station, it is hard to turn illegals in. But you do an incredible service just by outlining the problem. If authorities wanted to crack down, they have no lack of targets. You are probably more effective pointing out the huge cracks in the system.

“Excuse me ... this has made me ill, even though known to me was taking place.”

I posted this because it is a direct experience, not an article from some reporter that has passed through an editorial board. I doubt you’d find anything like this in the press.

I spent two weeks meeting people in Mexico and a stunning number of them work in California, probably illegally, and live in Mexico. The guide I hired when I toured (another family member) told me that if they closed the California boarder the entire Baja economy would collapse overnight. He said, “When Uncle Sam gets a cold, Mexico gets the flu.”

Someone else noted the implausibility of the government giving an apartment to teenagers. I agree. But the grandfather told me he was led from agency to agency by a “fat black woman” who told him, “Honey, I am going to get you everything to which you is entitled.” She told him what to say on every line of the form. Obviously, some of the information was false.

Incidentally, there’s a popular cable channel in Mexico which simply shows live video feeds of all the entry points and estimates the wait at each one.

If we start sealing those cracks it will put enormous pressure on the Americans who are exploiting them as well. Just maybe those people will find the will to help push the illegals out.

Or a contingency plan is in play. Bankrupt the South West and continue to funnel money away from the central government in D.C. while Nero plays the fiddle.

The issue will never be solved until a national ID system is installed.

You have to be able to definitively determine a person’s identity and status. Determining who is illegal will require determining everybody’s status.

But many conservatives are opposed to such a system.

I've long wondered why it seems that politicians, especially in the SouthWest, have pandered to illegal aliens,

And you've just explained why this country needs no more presidents who come from the southern border states, at least if anyone hopes the illegal alien problem will ever be addressed and immigration laws enforced.

Those border state politicians are as addicted to pandering as most southerners are to football. They won't give it up if they make it to the WH as several Texas presidents have already proven.

I worked for a company in Yuma, AZ where there are loads of seasonal employees and [naturally] plenty of illegals. Yuma is on the Mexican border as well as the California border. Winterhaven is a small town just inside California where there are less than 100 residents. But, they have a post office with thousands of PO Boxes where people register US mail drops and collect all sorts of government goodies.

When we noticed multiple employees using the same PO Box we checked documents and found some of them sharing the same SS#. They were terminated and went right around the corner and got a new job using a new name and ID that is readily available all along the border.

These employees had come to us from the government employment service (EDD). If we had been caught with them at work, our company could have been fined $5,000 for each offense. I went to EDD and asked why they sent us illegals who could cause us to violate the law if we didn't detect the fraud and their reply was that they didn't "really" know they were illegal because by law, they can't ask - that would be discrimination.

A common practice is to get hired and work for a short time, then claim a lower back injury. Normally the California worker's comp board will render a disability judgement resulting in benefits being sent to the claimant regardless of resident status or where they live. It is not uncommon to find people who have several disability judgements, some even under different names. I once "interviewed" a man who had been awarded disability judgements twice, was collecting unemployment and working under a different name. He readily admitted his transgressions for which he could only be fired and his only comment was, "This is a great country!"

Who will continue to issue welfare checks to the inhabitants? Mexico? I don't think so!

And my grandmother and her family immigrated LEGALLY from Sicily in 1912, being processed through Ellis Island with $50 between the 5 of them, speaking no English. But they learned English, adapted to America, changed their names to American names and worked without taking a penny from the United States.

My grandmother worked in a sweatshop as a seamstress for a nickle an hour. She raised 5 children who are all incredibly successful- without the aid of the government.

Can we get a true American president in office who will also use Executive Orders to cut off all funding to any state who has sanctuary cities and/or gives benefits to illegals? The only assistance they should be getting is a one way ticket on a broken down schoolbus with no air conditioning down to Guatemala.
