School Defends “Occupy” Song For 8-year-olds

By Todd Starnes/TWITTER

A Virginia school district is defending a song allegedly written and performed by a group of third graders about the Occupy Wall Street movement that conservative bloggers are calling a form of indoctrination.

The song, “Part of the 99,” was performed by children at Woodbrook Elementary School in Albemarle County, Virginia.

A spokesman for the school system said as far as they were concerned there isn’t a controversy and called criticism of the program unfortunate.

“We really don’t censor the topics that students come up with,” school spokesman Phil Giaramita told Fox News & Commentary. “This is the first time we’ve had the lyrics of one of these songs criticized.”

The controversy surrounding the song was first reported by the Weasel Zippers website.

“They’re actually claiming third-grade children wrote these lyrics and chose the topic as well,” Weasel Zippers wrote. “Because what eight-year-old child isn’t obsessed with class warfare?”

“We really don’t censor the topics that students come up with,”

Lying POS.

Let those same children sing a Christmas song or come up with anything remotely "religious" and the results will be easily predictable.

Here are lyrics to the song:

Some people have it all
But they still don’t think they have enough
They want more money
A faster ride
They’re not content
Never satisfied
Yes — they’re the 1 percent

I used to be one of the 1 percent
I worked all the time
Never saw my family
Couldn’t make life rhyme
Then the bubble burst
It really, really hurt
I lost my money
Lost my pride
Lost my home
Now I’m part of the 99

Some people have it all
But they still don’t think they have enough
They want more money
A faster ride
They’re not content
Never satisfied
Yes — they’re the 1 percent

I used to be sad, now I’m satisfied
’Cause I really have enough
Though I lost my yacht and plane
Didn’t need that extra stuff
Could have been much worse
You don’t need to be first
’Cause I’ve got my friends
Here by my side
Don’t need it all
I’m so happy to be part of the 99

*******************************************************
good little comrade. drink your Obama juice.

Unless, of course, the topic is a prayer or wearing the American flag on some Mexican holiday.

“We really don’t censor the topics that students come up with,” school spokesman Phil Giaramita...

So, these kids, (many of whom still believe in Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy), are politcally astute enough to not only know who the "Occupy" movement is, what they stand for, but also understand their motivation? The arrogance of this liar is staggering ... yet, not a single reporter has had the courage to call this liar, a 'liar'. The 'kids' didn't write this song - the only songs kids at this age care about deal with Jingle Bells and relate to Batman.

Anyone out there still convinced that forceful resistance won’t be necessary to right this ship? We are under full assault by Marxists who now control the media, most of the government, and our schools. Ten years ago I might have called anyone who said boxcars and camps would be in our future a nutjob. Now, how could I?

You smeel! Bobby’s dumb.
I want a bicicle

I like fun.

So, on the one hand....

“The boys and girls worked with a facilitator to come up with a theme and lyrics for a song.”

While on the other hand.....

“Giaramita said he has no doubts that eight-year-old children could write such lyrics and denied that teachers might have influenced their song choice.”

So what did the “facilitator” do?

The country cannot survive if we allow leftists to indoctrinate our kids starting from grade school. Every year more useful idiots trained by the Dept of Education reach voting age while the number people with traditional American values decreases. It is no wonder that about half the electorate supports leftists like Gore, Kerry and Obama whereas in the 80’s, they wouldn’t have gotten 20% of the vote. The education system needs to be purged as soon as possible.

That is a great example...

But I do not see a single individual benefitting from this step in the process...

I see a whole gaggle of liberal/progressive/socialists getting their “mitts” on this generation, along with the alreadu poluted “expectation generation” (the Occupiers), fomenting the future with their ideals, or non-ideals...

When do we get our chance???

We had our chance and the intelectually lazy were sucked up into this movement years ago...

So there really is no chance to get a conservative, effort-based mentality to succeed, and to protect these freedoms to succeed anymore...

Much less learn from history without that history being re-written and taught to future generations...

It is only a matter of time before this experiment called these “United States of America” is over...

I believe we’ll still keep up the fight, but unless some people are willing to bleed for the future, it will continue to go downhill like a snowball headed for hell...

Times have changed a bit. This is the version I knew at that age, back when the dinosaurs still roams the earth.

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the burning of the school
We have tortured all the teachers and we’ve broken every rule
We are now headed down the hall to hang the pricipal
??? is marching on (don’t remember that)

Glory glory hallelujah
Teacher hit me with a ruler
I hit her on the bean with a rotten tangerine
And the juice came squirting out.

Upon reflection, that 1st verse sounds like the French Revolution. Hmm.
