SANTORUM UP AS LAST PRECINCT REPORTS... but AP reports suddenly 9 more precincts to go?

but AP/NPR reports suddenly nine more precincts not reporting?

http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/files/elections/2012/by_county/IA_Page_0103.html?SITE=NPRELN&SECTION=POLITICS

What on earth is going on? CNN also has returned all their county counts back to zero. Is this it? Is the fix now coming in?

Perhaps.
But I have seen his presentations on the debates,
and Newt has much more substance, experience and
overall strength to beat 0.
It is a temporary setback, but people will see
a clearer picture of how Newt will handle the economy,
national security and defense.

Not in New Hampshire. Some candidates are even conceding NH to Romney and going straight to South Carolina. Which might be the smart thing for Santorum to do because he’s got no organization in the South. On Friday he was polling at 1% in Florida. He’s got a huge uphill battle.

Are Iowa and New Hampshire winner-take-all delegate states or proportional apportionment states.

I don’t think money will decide this contest and Romney has loads of it.

But Santorum can connect with grassroots voters - its his greatest strength and the polls don’t capture it well.

This race like in Aesop’s Fables, won’t go to the swift.

GOP delegates are winner take all unlike in the Democratic Party where they are proportionately awarded. If Mittens came in first, he takes all of IA’s delegates.

NH and SC are proportional. Florida is winner take all.

No candidate gets anything from Iowa tonight. Their delegates are unbound. Usually they get divided up proportionally based on the final delegate count at the end of the primary season. You may see media outlets divide them up...at this point that’s just an estimate.

Mittens is going to take on the aroma of a slightly cracked and shrunken slice of Cheddar cheese in the next week or so, and so much the better.

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

“Is the fix now coming in?”

It could be. The Republican elites want Republicans to think Romney is the only one who can beat Obama.

The establishment wants Romney. If every one unites behind Santorum, Romney will be denied the nomination.

The Republican contests in States which take place before April 1st, 2012 are all proportional contests (with the exception of Florida which the RNC granted a waiver to allow winner-take-all but then Florida lost half its delegates because it moved its Primary up to January 31st, 2012) by design. This was to prevent an early wrap up of the contest as happened in 2008 with John McCain.

Iowa and New Hamphshire are both proportionally allocated delegates. Iowa finally selects its national convention delegates at a State Convention Saturday June 16, 2012. Given the vote count with Romney winning by 8 votes the Iowa delegate break down looks somewhat as follows:

Romney 6 delegates
Santorum 6 delegates
Paul 6 delegates
Gingrich 4 delegates
Perry 3 delegates
Bachmann 0 delegates
Huntsman 0 delegates
======================
Pledged 25 delegates
Unpledged 3 delegates
=======================
Total 28 Iowa National Convention delegates

Yes, it is time to come to terms asap and go on offense and knock off the chinese fire drill circle jerk here. With the GOP field, all drop out except ONE CONSERVATIVE with a united based of support to field against this jackass Romney and overwhelm him and the MSM hyping for him, like a massive, grassroots, electoral tsunami. The numbers bear out the fact Bishop Romney will not be able to climb in the delegate toll and take the Republican base in the primaries, he will necessarily lose the nomination. And both the GOP Establishment (anti-Tea Party to a t), and the White House, will have conniption fits. We need a clear choice this November. No more crapping around with a RINO vs. a Socialist like last time. Some choice. With or without a conservative VP choice for convenient window dressing, to be unheard of after election and put away in the VP's mansion or attending foreign funerals.

Just FYI, Iowa delegates will not be chosen until June. This straw vote does not bind anyone to anything.

I got a feeling around convention time we’ll all be saying “Plus don’t forget those 8 votes Santorum got back in Iowa.”

“If everyone unites..”

As my dad used to say: “If I was a cat I would have had kittens.”

Romney will win the nomination while the religious conservatives, foreign policy conservatives and libertarians pound each other into oblivion. That is the script the establishment has written. Just think of it as the GOP’s bridge to nowhere.

Santorum, Gingrich and Paul will stick around long enough to get Romney the nomination.

(I am the guy who said Obama would be President when most Freepers barely heard of the name and were certain The Wicked Witch would be the nominee...just saying... :-) )

Thank-goodness I don't!

You may want to factor out the God vote....but I don't!
