As today’s Gallop poll showed, Santorum does not poll well anywhere but in the Iowa caucauses.

2008 proved once again that the National polls are mostly irrelevant in our primary system. Simply look back at 2008 when Clinton held huge leads in polls over Obama. Iowa changed all that.

Polls showed both Cain and Gingrich with 3-6% support for good chunks of the cycle. Looking at a poll now and trying to predict future performance just never works. There’s no reason not to believe the Christian conservative voters, which were previously hesitant to commit, will now swing to Santorum.

Ron Paul usually does better in Iowa than anywhere else also.
