Palin: GOP Should Not Alienate Ron Paul Voters
NewsMax ^ | Jan. 4, 2012 | Staff

Sarah Palin said she wasn't surprised at Rick Santorum's success in Iowa, and warned that the GOP should not take Ron Paul's supporters lightly.

Speaking on Fox News before Iowa's final numbers were in, she called Santorum "spot-on" with his policies toward Iran and praised his "social conservative" positions.

Her strongest comments came for Paul, however, saying "the GOP had better not marginalize Ron Paul and his supporters after this" because "a lot of Americans are war-weary and we are broke" and Paul has reached that constituency well. She warned that the GOP "better work with them."

A lot of people do around here. They agree more with them on various issues.

So have many people here, about his ECONOMIC policy (note in my original post I also pointed that out). Many here said he’d be a benefit to any R admin in some economic capacity. That doesn’t mean she or anyone else here would ever vote for Paul. His economic ideas are quite sound. He did a great job passing those on to his son. Am I know a Paulbot? I think 0bama seems like a great father. That’s a compliment. However, I have nothing nice to say about him otherwise and I think he’s done more to destroy this country than any single human being in my lifetime. See how that works? For heaven’s sake is the only way someone can remain “pure” is to never, ever, ever, ever, pay a compliment to someone everyone agrees should never be elected (or whatever else one is never supposed to think as deemed by some members of fr). If that’s the way it is then someone needs to post a list of things/people one is never supposed to mention (i.e. we all know Paul is the crazy uncle in the attic so we should never express appreciation for any of his ideas economic or otherwise).

Thanks for posting this. It’s an “old school” FR thread, and I really miss those. Yeah, the furniture gets tossed around, but you get some good thought-provoking comments out of the crucible. Not the typical Ron Paul thread.

For later comments....

i find it interesting that the “old timers” here seem to be the most level-headed and educated in the Constitution. most everyone else seems to be running on emotion..

Everyone knows Sarah’s “opinions” make my head explode, just having to hear her grasp at the English language to get some dull low tier point over, but if she thinks she is in the FAUX KNOW on a third party threat, Ron Paul IS already the Third Party! He’s just hiding out in OUR party. It is becoming clear who his “supporters” are, we just don’t know how bad the number is. YET.

This should blow your mind. Wasn’t Sarah your first of five or so candidates you were rooting for?

Libertarians already have a guy running for president, saw him on TV tonight but don’t know his name...RP would make the 4th or 5th party...communists also run. Nader could also run on the green party....there are a lot more than 2 parties running, Nader always pulls from the democrats...

Going through your posts, you hate everyone other than Romney. Why should we take you seriously again?

I’m leaning towards the thought that Paul supporters are closer to the ‘Occupy’ crowd than the ‘Tea Party’ crowd.

You are correct, if you look at the political spectrum as running from total government on the left to zero government on the right, instead of the RNC/DNC version which goes from total government to total government, with a VERY MODEST degree of permitted liberty somewhere in the middle.

Warning! the gop establishment should quit pushing their rino candidates and alienating the Tea Party folks. Paul is absolutely insane.

I’m retired from the Marine Corps and I plan to vote for Dr. Paul. Many of my friends, also retired military, mostly Marine Corps, also plan to support and vote for him. Including a full bird Colonel whom I used to work for at Camp Pendleton. Does that help answer your question?

And no, I am no part of the weed vote, though I firmly believe we’d be far better served if the WOsD and the DEA/ATF/IRS, etc., were abolished, their agents jailed or executed and their buildings torn down and the land sown with salt.

Sorry Ms. Palin, Paul’s foreign policy alienates those who support him from those of us who’d like to see America survive and not be subjected to Iranian theocratic nuclear blackmail, or worse.

Line, sand. Paul needs to pick a side - because his “coexist” fantasy just doesn’t exist in realityland.

I'm sure I'll be back posting something loathsome soon. :)

But beyond the atheism forum on Democratic Underground, almost nobody in our nation is politically wrong 100% of the time. I even found I could agree with Mr. Obama's decision when he pardoned the two turkeys at Thanksgiving.
