AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, serving humanity simply by showing up, and hes not retiring until every American agrees with him, do NOT doubt him, with shrieks of joy at the mere mention of his name (thats Rush, for those in Rio Linda),the Mandarin of Talk Radio, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, all-concerned Maha-Rushie! Americas anchorman, truth detector, and doctor of democracy. A Real Man, a living legend, a way of life. Commander in Chief of U.S. Operation Chaos. Chief Waga-Waga El Rushbo of the El Conservo Tribe. Chief of the Patriotism Police. Leader of the Conservative Movement. A Weapon of Mass Instruction. El Rushbo (a little Spanish lingo, there). He is the man who is running America (you know it and I know it). He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to dothats host. Get ready to what you were born to dothats listen (and post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread).
I received the following email (the product of someone else’s FB comment):
“Don’t you all see what George was trying to do? Romney is mormon and birth control is not well tolerated by the mormon church. George asked the question for no other reason than to embarrass Romney - not for the purpose of allowing people to learn more about who they’ll be voting for.
At the end of the debate, the ABC puppets all complained because the candidates refused to gauge each other’s eyes out. ABC has no business hosting debates. There is no integrity, ethics or reasonable sense of fair play in anything they do politically”
I think there might be something to this comment. GS’s insistence on not letting the question go, after he was already proved a fool for asking it, was bizarre.
If the commenter is correct, GS was acting like a Dem operative [Drudge used this term in his headline on the debate] because few, if any, in the audience and viewership, could understand why the question was asked or expect to profit from any Romney response.
Good to see GS humiliated (did anyone also catch his revealing “school-boy” face when he was nailed-—worth a video review), but why was the question asked and who could profit from the answer?
ABC has pushed the morality attack button on tv viewers since the early 60’s.always the antiGod channel
Free Republic is so slow lately, I keep catchin myself holler....ROW......ROW...............ROW
Nope, didn’t specify the race of the democrats most likely to engage in this behavior, but everyone knows numerous examples from the president down to your local schoolboard member.
Been thinking about my received email for two reasons:
1) NO ONE could have profited from any Romney answer to GS’s question EXCEPT Dem operatives. In other words, had Romney cooperated, his answer would have been used AFTER he was nominated.
2) Before I received the email this morning, I saw how the Dems will defeat Romney. IMO, the Dems DO want Romney as their opponent, and this weekend-—between the debate questions and the MSM comments and articles over the weekend-—they laid out their plan for defeating him.
Did Rush say that even Romney can defeat Obama? If he did, I strenuously disagree. He will not.
That was fast...
And it ain't just a "black" problem........it's a human problem. That old thinking...of "I'm going to get mine"
bet daley will have some interesting stories to tell
HROL! (holler row out loud)
Really? I just thought he was eating a lot of free-radical reducing blueberries along with his arugula ..... Michelle is on a health kick, you know.
Armed with the premise that Republicans will push for no condoms for school kids, the next step would be to say that Republicans want everyone to be "PUNISHED WITH A BABY".
That’s what I thought, originally. I’ve changed my mind. Why not ask that question to Santorum? He would have been a more perfect foil.
Wonder if he is Michelle "approved" (?)
the only health kick Mooshell is on is eatin her words
TRANSCRIPT [GS surreptitiously slides into the question by mentioning Santorum’s name with respect to “Constitutional right-to-privacy,” but his actual question is aimed at Romney]:
STEPHANOPOULOS: Back in Manchester. Governor Romney, I want to go straight to you.
Senator Santorum has been very clear in his belief that the Supreme Court was wrong when it decided that a right to privacy was embedded in the Constitution. And following from that, he believes that states have the right to ban contraception. Now I should add that he said hes not recommending that states do that
SANTORUM: No, I said lets be clear.
STEPHANOPOULOS: Absolutely. Im giving you your due
SANTORUM: Im talking about were talking about the 10th Amendment and the right of states to act.
STEPHANOPOULOS: But I do want to get to that core question.
STEPHANOPOULOS: Governor Romney, do you believe that states have the right to ban contraception? Or is that trumped by a constitutional right to privacy?
ROMNEY: George, this is an unusual topic that youre raising. States have a right to ban contraception? I cant imagine a state banning contraception. I cant imagine the circumstances where a state would want to do so, and if I were a governor of a state or
STEPHANOPOULOS: Well, the Supreme Court has ruled
ROMNEY: or a or a legislature of a state I would totally and completely oppose any effort to ban contraception. So youre asking given the fact that theres no state that wants to do so, and I dont know of any candidate that wants to do so, youre asking could it constitutionally be done? We can ask our constitutionalist here.
STEPHANOPOULOS: Im sure Congressman Paul
ROMNEY: OK, come on come on back
STEPHANOPOULOS: asking you, do you believe that states have that right or not?
ROMNEY: George, I I dont know whether a state has a right to ban contraception. No state wants to. I mean, the idea of you putting forward things that states might want to do that no no state wants to do and asking me whether they could do it or not is kind of a silly thing, I think.
STEPHANOPOULOS: Hold on a second. Governor, you went to Harvard Law School. You know very well this is based on
ROMNEY: Has the Supreme Court has the Supreme Court decided that states do not have the right to provide contraception? I
STEPHANOPOULOS: Yes, they have. In 1965, Griswold v. Connecticut.
ROMNEY: The I believe in the that the law of the land is as spoken by the Supreme Court, and that if we disagree with the Supreme Court and occasionally I do then we have a process under the Constitution to change that decision. And its its known as the amendment process.
And and where we have for instance, right now were having issues that relate to same-sex marriage. My view is, we should have a federal amendment of the Constitution defining marriage as a relationship between a man and a woman. But I know of of no reason to talk about contraception in this regard.
STEPHANOPOULOS: But youve got the Supreme Court decision finding a right to privacy in the Constitution.
ROMNEY: I dont believe they decided that correctly. In my view, Roe v. Wade was improperly decided. It was based upon that same principle. And in my view, if we had justices like Roberts, Alito, Thomas, and Scalia, and more justices like that, they might well decide to return this issue to states as opposed to saying its in the federal Constitution.
And by the way, if the people say it should be in the federal Constitution, then instead of having unelected judges stuff it in there when its not there, we should allow the people to express their own views through amendment and add it to the Constitution. But this idea that justice
STEPHANOPOULOS: But should that be done in this case?
STEPHANOPOULOS: Should that be done in this case?
ROMNEY: Should this be done in the case this case to allow states to ban contraception? No. States dont want to ban contraception. So why would we try and put it in the Constitution?
With regards to gay marriage, Ive told you, thats when I would amend the Constitution. Contraception, its working just fine, just leave it alone.
(APPLAUSE) STEPHANOPOULOS: I understand that. But youve given two answers to the question. Do you believe that the Supreme Court should overturn it or not?
ROMNEY: Do I believe the Supreme Court should overturn
(SOMEONE IN AUDIENCE YELLING)
ROMNEY: Do I believe the Supreme Court should overturn Roe v. Wade? Yes, I do.
PAUL: He mentioned my name.
STEPHANOPOULOS: Go ahead then.
Of course I consider myself superior to Limbaugh. He’s an addict, weak to drugs. He can’t manage his life. I hardly see Limbaugh as a social conservative, he’s a money hungry drug addict. I his he wasn’t a conservative...he gives us a bad name.
based on your post
it is you that gives you a bad name
oh and just a question there God, is it true Howard Cossell told you to get outta his chair
How incredibly ironic. Self-righteous, bitter-hearted, holier-than-thou "conservatives" like you give us a bad name. Also, your post signals that it's probably prudent to consider you as inferior to Limbaugh.
Pal, I GUARANTEE you that there are people in your personal circle -- work, friends, acquaintances, fellow church members, family -- who consider YOU just as inferior in character and weak to some "sin" or another, as you do Limbaugh. Every living creature has to pass judgment in order to survive; I'm all for passing judgment. And I judge folks who condemn the characters of people they don't know on circumstances about which they have zero first-hand knowledge, as idiots. :^)
I ended up turning the radio OFF. Why can’t Rush simply have a rule in regards to the PaulNUTS.
You were right, Tebow graduated two years earlier.
Good grief, is Rush and the talkradio show hosts going to be subjected to the PaulNUTS seminar callers?
Ron Paul is a Raging Certified Lunatic who is 77 years old!!
When is the Republican Party going recognize that Gereatric Candidates will NEVER BE ELECTED!! Gingrich, at 67 or whatever the Old Geezer is, will never be Elected, let alone the Pathetic Corpse that is Ron Paul!! I am almost embarressed to admit I am a “Born Again Republican!”
Since the GOP will NOT use this as a poster in 2012, may we take up a collection on FREE REPUBLIC to use it to tell America one more facet of Obama HUSSEIN’s miserable, disgusting mentality!!!
Attackwatch is already all over it.
Romney is misleading Americans about @BarackObama’s jobs recordwhile ignoring his own record at Bain and in MA:
Romney said again that repealing health care law will save $95 billion a year. Again, it’s False.
After 22 months of job growth, Romney still calls @BarackObama “anti-jobs”while ignoring his own record:
... ad nauseum (they are starting to hit the others now and again. I never thought they would hit Romney already. It’s as if they want Gingrich or Santorum.)
You are wrong. Everything about you is wrong.
It is appalling that nothing can be done about you in this life.
