Club for Growth Blasts Gingrich for Bain Attacks
National Review Online ^ | January 9, 2012 | Patrick Brennan

Posted on 01/09/2012 10:01:52 PM PST by Saundra Duffy

In a press release this afternoon, Club for Growth criticized Newt Gingrich for his attacks on Mitt Romney’s career at Bain Capital, calling them unbecoming a “Reagan Conservative.” Club for Growth’s statement:

Yesterday, Gingrich said “Those of us who believe in free markets and those of us who believe that in fact the whole goal of investment is entrepreneurship and job creation…we find it pretty hard to justify rich people figuring out clever legal ways to loot a company, leaving behind 1,700 families without a job.” Gingrich’s attack was echoed that same day that by the Democratic National Committee, which also attacked Romney for his job creation record at Bain Capital.

“Newt Gingrich’s attacks on Mitt Romney’s record at Bain Capital are disgusting,” said Club for Growth President Chris Chocola. “There are a number of issues for Mitt Romney’s Republican opponents to attack him for, but attacking him for making investments in companies to create a profit for his investors is just wrong. Because of the efforts of Bain Capital, major companies like Staples, Domino’s Pizza, and the Sports Authority now employ thousands of people and have created billions in wealth in the private economy. Attacking Governor Romney for participating in free-market capitalism is just beyond the pale for any purported ‘Reagan Conservative.’ Newt Gingrich should stop his attacks on free markets and apologize to Governor Romney for them.”

Well, I’ll be.

There’s no actual evidence?

My goodness! How in the world could that have happened?

And, now, everyone seems to have gone missing.

Imagine that...

This place is lost, man.

Hey, Dude. Take your stupidity back to DU or KOS. It festers there like a bad virus. Should suit you admirably.

Now, for the fun...

Sometimes, MORMON writers know they're pushing the envelope, so they try and give you an explanation right out of the gate to avoid answering letters later:

You ever get an answer to a question that really just leads to more questions?

Gingrich is engaging in class warfare, side-by-side with the democrats.

True. And ironic since Newt and his latest trophy wife Cassandra, or is it Candace, or is it Callista...have a $500,000 line of credit at Tiffany's. Or is it Nordstrums, or is it Saks...

So Newt is not exactly one who should be engaging in class warfare.

That all said, Newt is, in perhaps an unintentional way, doing the GOP a huge favor by getting all this crap about Mitt out now because it certainly would have been used by Obama in the general election. So now the GOP has the opportunity to dump Mitt from the ticket (before it is too late) or if Mitt does survive, this will all be somewhat "old" news by the general election cycle.

Now....THAT was funny! lol

I’m old enough to remember Batman, and this is the best takeoff I’ve seen from the younger generation.

If you did this, Scoutmaster, kudos and high fives to you!

Thanks, Elsie!

Ahhh. No credit to me for that one (Matt Groening and his cohorts get the kudos). Half of me was laughing and half of me was saying: "Wait. I have have the current guide to insignia placement. Where are the Council strips for those boys? And the U.S. Flag has been embroidered directly on the sleeve since the 2005 National Scout Jamboree . . . I don't see a 'Trained" strip on the Scoutmaster's sleeve . . ."

I probably need to make some friends outside of Scouting.

Don't try it here in UTAH!

We KNOW what kind of NON-faith prompting stuff you've been posting on FR!

Saundra: "Some would like to see Romney attack the federal government the way he economized companies during his time with Bain Capital."

dfwgator: "He did bupkis while he was Massachusetts Governor, so why would he do it as POTUS?"

Saundra: "I guess that’s why he’s so popular there. Go figure."

So. Romney was a government sector executive in Massachusetts and a private sector executive at Bain. Romney increased government sector spending and jobs. Then he cut private sector spending and jobs.

The comparison with Barack Obama is more and more apt with each thing we learn.

Is his popularity in Massachusetts a plus for his conservative credentials to you, Saundra? Massachusetts loves Obama (the popular vote was 62% for Obama in 2008, versus a national average of 53%). The Kennedys, including Teddy. John Kerry. Barney Frank. Michael Dukakis.

That's it? You're proud of this comparative lineup? Kerry, Kennedy, Romney, Frank, Dukakis.

That's kind of like asking if popularity among Planned Parenthood workers is a plus for one's conservative credentials.

No sir...no you don’t.

You are such a blessing for young boys, and young men.

I’ve been wondering where our fine young men come from, and you have a great influence on them.

Thank you!

Thanks for the pics of the Opel GTs.

Loved that car when I was in college—it was like a mini Vette.

Got to drive one, but was not able to buy one—around 1975.

Pics brought back a lot of memories.

Good luck on the restoration.

In looks!

4 banger; easy to get to ALL the parts; not like today's monsters that have NO room inside the engine compartments to stick yer hand into!
