it is time for this primary season crap to end. lets get a US constitutional amendment to have all state, US Presidential selection votes (primaries/caucus/magic 8 ball, whatever), occur on the same day.

I am sick of tired of having the vote come to my state with the candidate already picked(for the most part).

This ticks me off every election cycle.

I agree with you.

I too think Perry should drop out, and so should either Newt or Santorum. Probably Santorum but I’d be fine with them just drawing straws.

The New Hampshire Primary renders itself a bizarre circus event. Bring in the clowns!

Totally agree. I hope Newt stays in and the others support him and give Newt the votes to shred Romney.

That’s a horrible number even if you didn’t campaign.

Seriously, at least 5 percent should have been expected.

He needs to drop out, as does the conservative who has the fewest votes in SC.

I think people can hold off on dropping out until SC.

But, they need to drop out immediately after SC if they are not in the top three. That would mean Huntsman and Perry for sure if the latest polling is correct.

However, mathematically, even if that’s right and those two drop out, Romney is still on top with both Gingrich and Santorum in the race because of Paul. Paul will never drop out.

So, after SC we really need Gingrich or Santorum, whomever comes out with the least votes, to drop out.

I am almost sure neither will because they will say it’s still early. Gingrich flat has too much pride to drop out probably until it’s too late.

Nominee will then be Mitt Romney unfortunately.

>> Perry’s the only one left with a southern accent - that’s what he’s counting on for SC and FL. <<

He'll have to get past Buddy Roemer of Louisiana first! Buddy most definitely has a southern accent.

FL's a bit of an oddity as far as states go. It's the only state where the people in the southern part have a northern accent and the people in the northern part (specifically, the panhandle) are the only ones with southern accents.

Perry’s campaign strategy to win SC:
<><> Handing out autographed pics of himself shaking hands with Sammy Davis Jr.
<><> Appearing on Al Sharpton’s TV show.
<><> Renaming his hunting ranch “whiteyhead”
<><> Promising a fried chicken in every cast iron skillet (borrowing from FDR)
<><> Bringing in Texas BBQ experts to teach SC how to make BBQ sauce.
<><> Ripping the Confederate flag to shreds on the Capitol steps (aide gave him wrong flag)
<><> Handing out mint julep recipes using Texas Rotgut Whiskey
<><> Allowing SC to secede when Texas secedes from the Union.
<><> Calling Scarlet O’Hara a brazen hussy.
<<<<

Heh. These Rick Perry jokes practically write themselves. Perry became an afterthought in the presidential race months ago. Ordinarily I'd say it's a waste of time to kick a man when he's down, but his fans here on FR remain oblivious to the fact that "The Rent Is 2 DAMN High party" probably has a better shot at getting elected President than Perry at this point. One of his fans on this thread even said Perry's 0.7% vote total in N.H. is a GOOD sign. Ah, the power of self-delusion.

@ Cato in PA and @ rwfromkansas — I don't agree with you regarding a need for people to drop out, now that the race is down to three serious candidates, Romney, Gingrich, and Santorum. All appeal to significantly different parts of the Republican Party. Also, now that Romney has been defeated in South Carolina, I don't see a problem with what is essentially now a three-person race. Ron Paul has made clear he won't drop out, but he's running to get delegates to the convention to press for libertarian views, not to win the presidency.
