President Obama is putting plans in motion to give the Commerce Department authority to create an Internet ID for all Americans, a White House official told CNET.com.

White House Cybersecurity Coordinator Howard Schmidt told the website it is "the absolute perfect spot in the U.S. government" to centralize efforts toward creating an "identity ecosystem" for the Internet.

How will this affect those who can’t afford the internet?
What about minorities, women and children?

What we are talking about is enhancing online security and privacy, and reducing and perhaps even eliminating the need to memorize a dozen passwords, through creation and use of more trusted digital identities," Commerce Secretary Gary Locke

See ?! The government loves us. They only want the best for us. /s

Yeah, sure you do Gary, sure you do. Why else would anyone want need password access to their private banking information or their investment information when ... you've got it.

Dear Sir: The Department of Health and Human Services notes with alarm that your credit card shows you have been eating cheeseburgers as a regular part of your diet.

You should know that you are in violation of regulation 1002003000400001 formulated by this department to protect the health of the public and reduce costs of Obamacare.

Accordingly, your single payer premium has increased by 100% for the coming year.

Have a nice day.

Don’t worry, this will not happen as long as the Republicans control the House and have almost 50 members in the Senate.

You got that right! Just like the NDAA didn't pass due to all those Republicans in power. /s

Commerce Secretary Locke has just revealed himself to be a moron-in-training. If he studies very hard, he can work his way up to moron. I guess Locke has never googled "LastPass" or "One Password". Perhaps he has not yet heard of Google. His statements are dangerously stupid.

This is but one of the reasons why Obama must not be re-elected. To do so will give him a dictatorship because he will ignore Congress and the Constitution. He is showing you now what he will do in the future.

Do not let him have this power.

Let me see if I got this right...

This doofus is a member of the regime that deem voter ID an intrusion in citizens' rights to privacy and a violation of their rights?

But having a mandatory federal ID to use the internet is totally harmless?

In what universe?

This guyd Schmidt is a genuine idiot, isn't he.
Like the firearms registrations database...?

"Don’t worry, this will not happen as long as the Republicans control the House and have almost 50 members in the Senate."

As with so many other unconstitutional, anti-American laws for thieves, they'll never repeal it but will continue promising bits of future freedom for being voted in every time. All the while, they will support your local socialists (those describing themselves as emergency-rescue-safety-inspection-education-planning conservatives).

In the early days of the Internet there was a popular phrase: "On the Internet, nobody knows you're a dog." Apparently, Obama is unhappy with that situation which, more or less, remains in place today. And it may last a little while longer and then you "dogs" better start watching your step. No more of that crazy criticizing of the Dems and the Government.

We’re not trying to create a national ID card; we’re just trying to create a system wherein the federal government becomes aware of every web site you visit.

Could be, I thought it was right forearm and forehead.
Either way, it appears to be approaching quickly.
(nope you were right)

Revelation 13:16-17

King James Version (KJV)

16And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

17And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Revelation 13:16-17

New International Version (NIV)

16 It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, 17 so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.

What does unconstitutional have to do with it?

Right, it doesn't say anything about internet in the constitution.
Watch what they try to do during this election cycle and be amazed
at the slight of hand and sunday law signings. Screw the Congress too.

The problem is Repubs in the F-N Congress, they've already given Obama a green
light to anything he wants. FIRE BONER!

The worst part is, this very same thing could easily be proposed and/or supported by many in the Republican party. It’s all about “security” and helps keep commerce “safe” for the citizenry.

If you all would spend some time learning about this you wouldn't be too worried.

X.500 has been around for a very long time. What has been missing is a trusted registration authority...for those who CHOOSE TO PARTICIPATE.

If a Digital Certificate and it's associated registration were mandatory to access and use the internet, I would be worried. However, neither is the case.
