Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin defended Rick Perry on Wednesday night, siding with Mitt Romney's critics in stark contrast to conservatives who have warned Romney's rivals against attacking Romney's business record.
"I think what Gov. Perry is getting at is that Gov. Romney has claimed to create 100,000 jobs at Bain, and people are wanting to know, is there proof of that claim, and was it U.S. jobs created for U.S. citizens," Palin told Fox News' Sean Hannity.
"That's fair, that's not negative campaigning," Palin said. "That's fair to hold a candidate accountable to what's been claimed."
Republican presidential candidates Perry, Newt Gingrich, and Jon Huntsman all piled on Romney's record at Bain this week, accusing Romney of "looting," "scavenging" and "picking the bones" of companies taken over by Bain Capital, the firm Romney co-founded in 1984.
Romney said Wednesday that Perry and Newt Gingrich were attacking free enterprise by criticizing his record at Bain.

Perry was not attacking capitalism. He was attacking the way Romney does business. Perry is one of the strongest supporters of capitalism in this country. Please compare Massachusetts and Texas. At this time, which state would better represent capitalism?
Is that little twerp Hannity still bashing Governor Perry for questioning Willard’s business ethics? I have never seen Hannity be as disgracefully rude to a conservative as he was when he interviewed Perry a couple of nights ago. He’d better stick to repeating his inane slogans and tossing that stupid football.
Thanks to power-crazed Perry, the US is Being Sold out; Perry is encouraging Communist China to OWN OUR PRECIOUS RESOURCES. Perry was also criticized for doing business with a shady Chinese Communist company that had been cited by the State Dept as undermining US ntl security.

In his enthusiastic, suck-up address to La Raza, Perry mentions he had invited CHINA to "invest " in US GAS and OIL in Texas oilfields (video link below).
That could start a ntl trend---Perry loves to start trends. In 2001, Texas became the first state in the country to pass an in-state tuition law. The in- state giveaway, heralded by Perry, created a national movement. Many private universities also now award aid to illegal immigrant students.

Who is the La Raza woman at the start of the video, called "Madam Secretary" that Perry hugs as if she was personally responsible for getting him the illegal votes he needs for election? Was she the one appointed as a federal operative by Obama along with La Raza operative Cecilia Munoz?

Oh, and that national movement you speak of makes up 1% of enrollment in Texas schools.
But did she defend Gingrich’s slightly different attacks?
This is a neat preview of a Romney presidency! Every action he takes is automatically going to be pure capitalism, just because it was done by him. He would be beyond criticism from the right.
And if anybody wants to know how we are “this close” to getting Romney as our nominee, the referenced comment is a perfect illustration.
We all have our candidates, but we also are absolutist about it, and determined to destroy everybody else’s candidates. And we have succeeded — the villiage is a pile of ash on the ground. Except there is no “last man standing”, no hero to stand on the ashes and claim the prize. All our candidates are in little smouldering heaps, burned by conservatives who were sure there’s was the “better choice” — no worse, that there’s was the ONLY choice, and that the “others” were in fact communist foreign agents of evil.
I didn’t see it, but Hannity is posing questions to guests of late that are designed to steer everything toward Perry bashing.
He had Newt on his radio show, and he bashed Perry’s comments as a lead in to let Newt back off of his own comments if he wanted to.
So Sarah perhaps was merely responding to Hannity’s set up...his Perry set up, that is.
I’m sick of Hannity, Rush and Levin.
They can’t be dumb enough to believe Perry is against Captitalism. Something is wrong with this picture.
At least Rush and Levin were trying to equally bash Perry and Newt.
Hannity is Perry obsessed.
Weird.
You may not like it—but this is the way democracy works.
Candidates come forward touting their talents-—and Americans have the right to pass on info they might have about candidates.
Calling this an “attack” is disingenuous.
America still chooses candidates based on historic standards of American exceptionalism. Candidates who do not meet the criteria, and are continuslly rejected at the polls, should dropout.
The media bias against Perry has been disgustingly obviously since the moment they overturned a rock in Texas that had nothing to do with Rick Perry.
The talking heads can’t stand a candidate who stands on principle and takes on all comers. Perry will prevail — one way or another — in a big way.

HANNITY: Let me ask you, Governor, because I’ve been following your speeches as you’ve been going around South Carolina. You are talking about the success of Texas. You are making comparisons about the Obama economy. But you’ve also had some very harsh words about Governor Mitt Romney, who now has won Iowa and New Hampshire.
You said — talking about his days at Bain Capital, Bain Capital compared companies like that, they leave the carcasses behind. Bain is a vulture capital company. They walked into South Carolina, a company like Gaffney. They picked the bones clean of those people who lost their jobs in the same mill. You say, rather than restructure jobs, they’re trying to make money. Ethics get thrown out the door. They make as much money as they can in a hurry.
You know, when I hear that, it almost sounds like “Occupy Wall Street.” It doesn’t sound like somebody that is governing the state of Texas as a conservative.
PERRY: Sean, there’s a real difference between venture capitalism and vulture capitalism. Venture capitalism we like. Vulture capitalism, no. And the fact of the matter is that he’s going to have to face up to this at some time or another, and South Carolina is as good a place to draw that line in the sand as any, because those people in Gaffney, South Carolina, understand what happened to that photo album company. The folks in Georgetown, South Carolina, understand the jobs that were lost and that Bain Capital took $20 million and $65 million respectively from each of those deals and walked away from it.
That’s not what we’re looking for in a president of the United States. We’re looking for someone that knows how to build jobs, create jobs. And that’s what I’ve done in the state of Texas. So there’s no use trying to paper this over. That is a problem for Mitt, and he’s going to have to face it.
HANNITY: Well, are you saying that he’s — you said specifically that they’re not ethical. You said specifically — you’re saying that Mitt Romney, Governor Romney, is a vulture capitalist, that Governor Romney is unethical?
PERRY: What I’m saying is that the way that they operate at Bain Capital, with those two particular companies in those two South Carolina cities, I think was irresponsible. So you know, the truth is the truth, Sean, and there’s no use in us trying to shy away from it. If we think for a minute that Barack Obama is not going to attack this and talk about it, we might as well get it out in the open and discuss it right now...
HANNITY: No, but — but...
PERRY: ... and find out, is this the type of conservative...
HANNITY: But Governor...
This is contrary to what I have read about how Bain operates. For ex, Bain bought the steel company in the mid-90s and stayed with it until it went under in 2001.
Romney left several years before that. Perry would do better to focus on his record as governor of MA than try to blame him for something that didn't happen on his watch.
