What do any of these articles have to do with pissing on dead camel jockeys?

IF this happened as their CO I would have condemned them for their stupidity in filming the incident.
And then let them go back to work killing more of the enemy.

So why is everyone getting so wee-weed up about it?
It's not like these guys were dumping classified state department cables all over the internet. Now that's something to get REAL PISSED a... oh wait.

Remember when Abu Grahb (sp?) was all Bush’s fault?
This is all Obama’s fault then, right?

That’s what came to my mind, too.

I don’t condemn the activities nor would I encourage it.
“I don’t remember Mr. Panetta saying anything about beheading, dismembering, burning, and/or dragging Americans through the streets.”
I agree.

Patton understood this point. Patton fought hard but fair.Fair? FAIR?! FAIR?!!!
Is that what you want?
Fair?!
Is war just a boardgame to you?
And what the hell do you know about Patton and his battalion anyway? Were you there?

Dang right it’s Obama’s fault; he is playing the role of C-in-C. First he whips out phrases like “all wee-weed up” (sort of a “Make my day” for the bike helmet set), then this happens. Guess he’ll snub Israel and grovel towards Mecca to make the hurt go away.
To: Nachum
What’s deplorable is that Panetta is “in charge” of the Pentagon and we have a POtuS as CinC.

I saw those anti-war specialists on Canadian television tonight. On CTV, a grave voice intoned of something that would surely enrage the terrorist assassins. I winced and waited for something like Mandy England and her antics with captured terrorists,or worse. The grave voice intoned the incident of the urinating on prone corpses. Another bright spark of a "journalist" was consulted. "Oh woe, woe"- well not exactly, but that was the drift.
In all, a wonderful hissy fit has taken place, knickers have been twisted, shorts have been knotted. The emotion has poured forth and can be cut with a knife. Oh woe is us! I heard further of another five innocent souls being blown up in Afghanistan today. Sort of quickly mentioned on CTV news anyway. Yet I cannot get any update on this.
What a carry on!

Never thought it would happen: something Panetta and I agree on I'm not sure why...the official "rules of war" do not cover insurgent terrorists. They are intended to cover uniformed members of an official army. If a bunch of Mexican drug lords haappen to wander into the U.S., engage the Rangers or the military in a fatal gunfight...they aren't even entitled to a clean plastic bag to contain their worthless carcasses. Throw them in the back of a pickup truck and take them back to Mexico.

At worse, whatever discipline there is, it should be dealt with by the Company.
This overreaction is uncalled for.

I don’t see a single reference to anything done to a dead body.

There was a general. His son was pretty good, too.
I heard Patton's son once did a picture of NVA skulls with the greeting, peace on earth -- Merry Christmas!
Of course, the faggots back then whined about that, also.

Agreed. They should be fined ...oh, $200 each. For filming.

The intent of the law of war is that the enemy is to be beaten, but his innate human dignity still exists. When he is a prisoner of war, he is not to be shoved into a concentration camp and worked to death. When he is wounded, he is not to be used for medical experimentation or shot out of hand. When he is killed, he is to be buried with dignity.
Pissing on a dead body is out.
I sure as hell remember the pamphlets the Army issued in the 1970s and 1980s about the Laws of War, where it made these things very clear in cartoon form.
There is a catchall article in the UCMJ which will enable these Marines to be tried (if they are, in deed, Marines and not actors).
