Exactly.

Here in Seattle, Home Depot pays Washington state minimum wage, which is $9.04/hour.

Target, FedEx, and most seasonal hiring stores pay the same.

At JC Penney, about 75% of the clerks speak accented English.

My employer, an electronics company, has a large temp work force, up to 200 people at times, also about 75% immigrant.

Current pay, $10/hour.

Their biggest complaint (besides bad pay)?

They are forced to work with other people who can’t speak English, so there’s no way they can improve their English language skills.
