Meghan McCain, MSNBC’s newest contributor with a growing laundry list of outlandish comments to her credit, appeared as on Wednesday’s Tonight Show. During the broadcast, the quirky McCain compared herself to conservative icon President Ronald Reagan, asserting that if he were in the presidential race today, “he would be called a dirty moderate like me, unfortunately.”
McCain, who identifies herself as a “big proponent” of same-sex marriage, said that her views have isolated her in Republican circles.
“People don’t think I’m Republican enough because I’m a big advocate of marriage equality in this country. But I’m very proud to do it. My mother joined me. You know, I just —it’s one of the reasons why I love being in politics. I just think this is my generation’s civil rights issue.”

Meghan McCain is just a not-too-bright pampered ditz who’s opinions are mostly liberal rubbish but because her father was the Republican presidential candidate (in 2008) and she consistently embarrasses the Republican party with her nonsense - especially her drearily predictable advocacy for same-sex ‘marriage’ - McCain is welcomed on TV shows that would otherwise not allow her past the front door of the building. She is to be pitied, first, for her for her ignorance then for the fact that she is being (willfully) used by those who’s politics are anti-conservative, as is Miss McCain.

I don’t think conservatives’ disdain for Meghan is rooted in her support for gay marriage, rather, her stupidity. She’s as dumb as an ox. To be sure, conservatives revile the pro-gay marriage position, but it isn’t as troubling in pundits, since they, unlike politicians and judges, don’t hold power over us.
I’ve never heard her called a “Dirty Moderate”. Now, I do call her Tits McGee, but I’ve never heard Reagan called that. Maybe when Nancy was young, but not Ronald Reagan.
She and her father need to both go away (although being on MSNBC and “going away” are virtually equivalent I do believe...)

I could care less about McCain - but I have said on occasion when a Freeper pulls one vote, or one comment on a decent candidate and then calls the person a RINO - that I seriously think Reagan would have a hard time getting elected. Or at least getting total agreement by Freepers on the internet.

Reagan wasn’t perfect. None of our candidates are. And it gets frustrating when we rag on someone when they are only 80% “right”.
While some of these single-issue things ARE very important, I’m not sure that some comment, or a minor vote based on that one issue should turn the person into a “Rino”.

Somehow, the words of Lloyd Bentsen come to mind. As it happens, I have met Ronald Reagan, and Meghan is no Reagan.
