Meghan McCain: Ronald Reagan ‘Would Be Called a Dirty Moderate Like Me’
The Blaze ^ | 01-12-12 | Tiffany Gabbay

Meghan McCain, MSNBC’s newest contributor with a growing laundry list of outlandish comments to her credit, appeared as on Wednesday’s Tonight Show. During the broadcast, the quirky McCain compared herself to conservative icon President Ronald Reagan, asserting that if he were in the presidential race today, “he would be called a dirty moderate like me, unfortunately.”

McCain, who identifies herself as a “big proponent” of same-sex marriage, said that her views have isolated her in Republican circles.

“People don’t think I’m Republican enough because I’m a big advocate of marriage equality in this country. But I’m very proud to do it. My mother joined me. You know, I just —it’s one of the reasons why I love being in politics. I just think this is my generation’s civil rights issue.”

She must be getting her information about Reagan from her dad. The twit doesn’t realize that too many of us lived through the Reagan era, and know what kind of president he was. When my kids spout stupid crap like this girl does, they are called on it to back it up. Meghan sits at her laptop, and posts things she has no real-life clue about.

While Reagan did not support California banning homosexuals from teaching, here's what he said about homosexuality and gay-"marriage".
"Society has always regarded marital love as a sacred expression of the bond between a man and a woman. It is the means by which families are created and society itself is extended into the future. In the Judeo-Christian tradition it is the means by which husband and wife participate with God in the creation of a new human life. It is for these reasons, among others, that our society has always sought to protect this unique relationship. In part the erosion of these values has given way to a celebration of forms of expression most reject. We will resist the efforts of some to obtain government endorsement of homosexuality."

"My criticism is that [the gay movement] isn’t just asking for civil rights; it’s asking for recognition and acceptance of an alternative lifestyle which I do not believe society can condone, nor can I."

These quotes clearly shows that his opposition to banning homosexuals from teaching DID NOT extend to proselytizing homosexuals - but was more a Don't Ask Don't Tell position for teachers.

But that would be too much to expect that dumb $$%^% McCain to know; which is exactly why MSM loves her.

Her opinions do not matter to anyone with half a brain.

Good point, I was just thinking that Megan has the same Leftwing views as her father, John McCain. How the heck did he get the nomination last time? By the way, is John McCain doing anything to build up the fence on the border he promised?

Somehow, the words of Lloyd Bentsen come to mind. As it happens, I have met Ronald Reagan, and Meghan is no Reagan.

In response to “turned tail and ran from Lebanon”; you need to get your facts straight. He did not send troops into Lebanon due to a war, they were sent there to defend the country and populace from (wait for it) attacks from militant Islamists. The Lebanese population complained loudly about having US troops on their soil and were given a crappy place to stay by the government. After the bombing attack killed our men, there was a (surprise) celebration by the Lebanese people. They were happy that the infidels were killed. Reagan wisely said “well, then F ‘em” and took our boys out. It was the right thing to do.

This baggage already has a tattoo on her ample foot, and on multiple occasions she has spoken of getting a white trash visa inked above her steatopygia.

“since they, unlike politicians and judges, don’t hold power over us.”

Insofar as they deceive voters, they have influence.
