Romney SuperPAC going after Santorum
Legal Insurrection ^ | 1/13/12 | William Jacobson

Posted on 01/13/2012 10:09:26 AM PST by Lakeshark

Via The Hill:

"Restore Our Future, an outside group backing Mitt Romney, is taking its first shot at Rick Santorum. The group is running ads in South Carolina and Florida criticizing Santorum for supporting earmarks, part of multi-million dollar ad buys running in the states."

Fair? In context? All the possibly clarifying facts disclosed? Of course not.

Video of the ugly Romney ad at link.

Let's hope the conservatives in the race that drop out remember what Romney's done to all of them.

Romney's team is just gross, it's hard to believe so many GOP voters are behind this phoney.

I don’t understand why Newt’s superpac doesn’t go after Mittens about Romneycare. Show the video of Obama saying he modelled Obamacare after Romneycare. Play that over and over. It’s stupid that they haven’t done it.

Romney for Obama in 2008

Late in October, The American Spectator's The Prowler revealed:
"Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers…
have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election.
'Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012,'
says one former Romney aide…
'The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney.
"Some former Romney aides were behind the recent leaks to media, including CNN, that Governor Sarah Palin was a 'diva' and was going off message intentionally."

The Palmetto Scoop reported: "One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was
the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"I’m told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palin’s people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romney’s former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
… aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw
that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.

"These staffers are now out trying to finish her off ….hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."

"Who's the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign?
National Review Online The publication of a Vanity Fair profile of Sarah Palin
appears to have opened old wounds in the McCain campaign.
... the source of the “Diva” leak was Nicolle Wallace’s husband."

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

“Romney’s team is just gross”

And they cry and whine when we go after their darling golden boy who has already been elected to the throne of the gop elite.

I support Santorum.

But, if he is unable to close the gap soon, I’d go with Gingrich just to stop Romney in this winner take all state, and would encourage Perry supporters to do the same.

Agreed. I really hope that when one of them have to fold, and concede, they immediately endorse the other. I personally want a Santorum/Gingrich ticket...or reversed.

Romney....A slick, oily, arrogant, politician who ran to to left of Ted Kennedy the face of conservatism will set the conservative movement back for at least a decade...

Romney is so far removed of anything Reaganesque. When 96% of the ads breaking Reagan's 11th commandment “Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican.” are from an oily, lying oleaginous, politician, thou shall never ever ever vote for them.....

“I don’t understand why Newt’s superpac doesn’t go after Mittens about Romneycare”

They just got started this week and did not start out with that issue because it’s old. been debated, is still alive, but that would be preaching to the choir.

Instead they started with a completely new line of attack, which successfully got huge media attention, and raised a very viable issue not really up front before, and has the potential to attract a bunch of NEW Gingrich supporters.

Get Romney down to 19% or less in SC !!!

Send him home to MASSACHUSETTS, the land of Barney Frank and Ted Kennedy !

WOW! Those Romneyites are a nasty bunch.

I think all this negative advertising is going to backfire on Mitt.

"has the potential to attract a bunch of NEW Gingrich supporters."

The only new supporters they're getting with this type of attack is the occupy wallstreet crowd. The Romneycare issue may be an old one, but it's a good one that has not been answered yet IMO. Mittens can say all he wants about repealing Obamacare, but actions speak louder than words. Obamacare needs to be one of the top issues in the campaign and the Superpac can make the argument how can Mittens make that argument when Romneycare is mini me to Obamacare.

Mitt is slimy. His super-scum pak isn’t helping him by attacking Rick S either; if they force Rick out, most of them will go to Newt anyway. Mitt will see (the hard way) that this time around the conservatives won’t buy into his brand of bs.

My first thought:
Not a good idea for Mitt. Any folks leaving Rick will not move to Mitt, but will make Newt stronger.

“The only new supporters they’re getting with this type of attack is the occupy wallstreet crowd.”

I disagree. There are many mainstreet voters perfectly capable of understanding how a corporate raider becomes personally worth billions, and the difference between what may be legal in business, but not ethical. All that is needed is a SuperPac to spread the word that the issue exists. Why cover up for Romney?

Florians beware ...

Remember Charlie Crist ?

Romney is on the exact same track, and is the 2012 version of Crist. A RINO that will turn on conservatives once in office.
