The ideal candidate would be a conservative who comes over as energetic and can engage with the media even if they do not agree with them but at least get there respect. Does such a person exist?

Yes,her name is Palin and his name was Reagan.

Interesting.

I was a young person during the Vietnam, very, very much affected by events there. I was also a liberal, yup, going to college and thinking myself so cool one needed a space heater to stand next to me.

I really believed all this stuff. If nothing else I cast jaundiced brain upon that which is reported by the impartial journalists of tyhis era.

Got me a new kitten for Christmas...I gave to husband, rescue from SPCA. Name is Gerald.

We might be a bit too old for kittenhood, including 9 year old dog and three cats, ages 12,10 and 7. For Gerald lives in a Gerald world and all of the Gerald world is about him.

He considers me needing his help with cooking and prepping meals, he figures he should inspect all trash cans, and while he likes this Gerald world in our house, he does not think there is enough food in this environment, maybe on the planet earth, to feed Gerald.

He is driving all of us nuts and yet every morning I hear his pounce as he comes out from wherever he is to greet me with a big Gerald smile in the Gerald world.

I don’t have the VA. links but there was a huge kerfuffle on here about it and one poster really laid out a great argument as to how VA. rinos in charge laid out a plan to exempt the other candidates and o.k.ed Mitts submission, and the very next day made changes to the rules. Dec. 15 as I recall.Lots to this thing in Va. I just don’t have the links handy.

Fish honestly you’re guess is as good as mine.

This does nothing but signal to the Taliban and al-Qaeda that we are a toothless tiger...weak and ready to be attacked again.

Thanks for the explanation, Son House.

Speaking of Oprah.......Oprah’s bff, Gale King, did the CBS interview with Michelle complaining about being portrayed as the “angry, black woman” in Jodi Kantor’s book. I think Michelle not only chose Gale because they are friends (and would thus give a sympathetic interview), but because she made Michelle look trim. (Did I just write that?)

Agree, Miss Marple, too many voters are uninformed and are persuaded by some pretty unimportant factors.....looks being chief among those.

Newt does have a problem in that area. When he pops a quick smile, it doesn’t necessarily invoke a warm fuzzy feeling. He has great potential, IMO, in steering this country back to fiscal sanity. We’ll see how he does in SC.

Santorum, IMO, has less of a problem in that area. He’s nice looking, younger. His preachiness may turn off some folks, like you say, especially former obama voters.

Perry would likely be a good president, but he just hasn’t recovered from the earlier debates.

I’m with you, I’ll vote for my cat before I vote for obama. Just hope this primary process goes on long enough to shake things out so we get the best candidate. Establishment GOP wants things called for Romney now, even though he’s only received a few votes, for one reason only. He is most likely to keep the status quo they’ve counted on all these years.

MY friend, the battle for Iraq and Afghanistan is over. They both have been handed to our Muslim terrorist enemies by POTUS Barack Hussein Obama!!! Add the rest of the Middle East and North Africa to the lost list, courtesy of Obama and his “Muslim Brotherhood” brethren and you have a clear, correct picture of where POTUS Obama’s real loyaltys rest.

I feel so sorry and depressed for the many sacrifices of our supreme Military that Obama has tossed into the nearest garbage can. All that lost blood, treasure, devotion, dedication and love of America lost in a fleeting and planned moment of a leader determined to undermine America in every aspect. We are in Harm’s Way, America!!! Wake-up!!! God bless our military, I pray for you all every day I breathe!!! I also pray for this country of America every moment, for we are presently alive in a nightmare created by a non-American, Barack Hussein Obama!!!

Yeah, it’s hard to stay away from the what we think of as irrelevant stuff, and I didn’t want to make the direct comparison, but leave it up to the folks like Scheiffer and his Face the Nation, who are talking about that stuff as I think they missed the obvious, and possibly miss it on purpose.

This came in to me this morning so I’ll pass it along.

Subject: Rep. Allen West (R-FL)
West To Pundits & Armchair Quarterbacks: “Shut Your Mouth”

No doubt you have heard about the latest “Abu Ghraib” incident — a video of Marines allegedly urinating on the bodies of Afghan terrorists. Our media and political elites have offered their effusive apologies. As always, Rep. Allen West (R-FL) had some choice words of his own. Here is West’s statement, courtesy of our friends at The Weekly Standard:
“I have sat back and assessed the incident with the video of our Marines urinating on Taliban corpses. I do not recall any self-righteous indignation when our Delta snipers Shugart and Gordon had their bodies dragged through Mogadishu. Neither do I recall media outrage and condemnation of our Blackwater security contractors being killed, their bodies burned, and hung from a bridge in Fallujah. All these over-emotional pundits and armchair quarterbacks need to chill. Does anyone remember the two Soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division who were beheaded and gutted in Iraq?

“The Marines were wrong. Give them a maximum punishment under field grade level Article 15 (non-judicial punishment), place a General Officer level letter of reprimand in their personnel file, and have them in full dress uniform stand before their Battalion, each personally apologize to God, Country, and Corps videotaped and conclude by singing the full US Marine Corps Hymn without a teleprompter.

“As for everyone else, unless you have been shot at by the Taliban, shut your mouth, war is hell.”

The pundits won’t like it. The Democrats won’t like it. The media/press won’t like it. So you’re right, there are some who will damn the Marines for pissing on the dead Taliban.

However, the American people will love it and smile while they laugh at those jerks who routinely disparage our military.

We call our Party people who vote on the leaders, Precinct People or Precinct Committee People. So it was the official County meeting.
