"Romney has opened up a 21-point lead in the state ahead of the primary as the conservative vote remains splintered, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Saturday."

That Reuters/Ipsos is almost evenly split with Democrats and Republicans.

Santorum says he can win if the others drop out....."RickSantorum sought to build on some recent momentum, including new support from conservative Christian groups, saying he will beat Mr. Romney for the Republican nomination once all the other candidates drop out."

It is time in our country for people to think for themsleves. To make a decison because a bunch of church leaders endorse a person is stupid and more like a zombie action. Rick Perry is a Christian and stands for all the things I want in a candidate. Santorum?? good grief, no thank you!

Thanks for the article CW.

You are welcome Katarina.

Gov. Perry could turn this socialist slide around.

I believe he truly has set that as his goal.

“Rick Perry is a Christian and stands for all the things I want in a candidate.”

You want a candidate that stands for In-State Tuition for Illegal Aliens and calls those who oppose In-State Tuition for Illegal Aliens, heartless?

“It is time in our country for people to think for themsleves.”

This article just documents why (as most Chistians already knew) the evangelical leaders conference will have very little effect, contrary to the fears of wary outsiders. These voters are so independent-minded and fractured; they do not follow their religious “leaders” when it comes to the politics of this world.

Gov. Perry certainly had a good night on the Huckabee forum last night. He’s found a style that works, much looser and comes across as sincere and with a clear message. It’s too bad it has taken this long, had he come out of the gate this way I think the polls might look different.

“Gov. Perry could turn this socialist slide around.”

By turning this “socialist slide around,” are you saying that Gov. Perry will be abolishing the socialist Texas Enterprise Fund which has funneled hundreds of millions of Texans’ tax dollars to private companies?

As you sure you are quite aware, the Governor of Texas doesn't have the power to allocate that money.

You mean the headlines lie about evangelical leaders endorsing Santorum?

..."once all the other candidates drop out..."

That can be said of any candidate. What strategy.

“As you sure you are quite aware, the Governor of Texas doesn’t have the power to allocate that money.”

I attempted to do research on the topic and all I could find was this information on some RINO Nanny State website that said this on the matter.

“At Gov. Rick Perry’s request, the 78th Texas Legislature established the Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) in 2003 to help attract new jobs and investment to the state.”

Seems the Perry folks are battling the Santorum folks for 3rd place at best?

“Rick Perry is a Christian and stands for all the things I want in a candidate.”

Christians need to reconsider RICK PERRY. He is the strongest conservative candidate.

MSM has tried to keep his name out of the mix. They know PERRY is the strongest conservative candidate.

Heck, if he want to reason it out that way, I could win if the others drop out. Anyone could win if everyone else drops out.

Demanding or even suggesting that others drop out isn't the way we should do things. The time and effort expended shows us so much about how candidates think and act and react to various situations. The competition is healthy. I hope they all stay in for as long as it takes.

Wow, you really don’t give up easily. I heard that Gov. Perry has lost his biggest money guy. I really don’t see how he has any realistic chance. He says he is going to Florida, no matter what. why?

Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum touted an 11th-hour endorsement from conservative Christian leaders on Sunday ahead of South Carolina's crucial nominating contest but it appeared to have little influence on churchgoers

We know we have only one leader, His Name is Christ and He died for us. When these so called leaders start dying for us, when they start following Christ' example, then my family and I will start taking them serious.

In the mean time we will stay with the man who has inspired us with his honesty, his living his pro-life stance, the man who stands for the same ideals today that he did 25 years ago, Ron Paul.

Gingrich’s Record on Property Rights........."Gingrich personally prevented property-rights-protective reforms of the Endangered Species Act from passing the House and then gave one of the most liberal members of the Republican caucus and environmental activist groups a de facto veto over environmental legislation. These machinations were documented in an article in The Environmental Forum, a magazine published by the Environmental Law Institute — an article Gingrich cited favorably in his own book on environmental policy.".......

I thought that you were going to say Perry.
