If the dykish moms don’t like it they don’t have to buy it.

“Hey Lego!” shouted one commenter on the company’s Facebook page. “I’m a girl and I don’t like your new Lego Friends set. I think it promotes ridiculous gender stereotypes that damage little girls everywhere. “We like Star Wars, Harry Potter, space ships and explosions, too, not just salons, cafes and drinks by the pool. Some of us want to grow up to be engineers, not manicurists.”

I would say: "Hey, little girl, then wait till we come out with our engineering set or play with the sets we already have! Normal little girls should have a choice too!" Gees!

I showed my 6 year old normal little girl and she says she knows about it, likes it, and wants it.

It’s funny how none of the people who are angry about this are little girls.

That’s because they haven’t been indoctrinated (yet).

This is one time that the marketplace will decide if Lego made the correct move or not.

*sigh*

What’s wrong with making cool legos that people buy?

Sure, girls don’t like ‘em, but who cares. Girls have cooties!

More cool legos = license to print money.

I had Lincoln Logs. You could engrave them...

...with a magnifying glass.

Neat!

See post #9. I think I found the little girl who wrote it (or at least her parent that helped her :).

Good article. I find it interesting that there is such a gap in boys’ and girls’ reaction to Legos. Hopefully Legos’ research will payoff this time.

We loved our lincoln logs. Got them for the grandchildren 50 years later!! The older ones were better.

I believe that Pepto-Bismol, because it is pink, promotes ridiculous gender stereotypes that damage heterosexual males everywhere and reinforces the old socialist shibboleth that only females are in need of nausea, heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach and diarrhea relief.

Pepto-Bismol should be the color of bile.

Boys get to have toys in any color but pink and purple and pastels. Girls can’t have toys in any color but pink and purple and pastels.

Yes, there are exceptions, but go down the girls aisles in the toy stores and check.
