How Obama Betrays Martin Luther's King's Dream
American Thinker ^ | 01/16/2012 | George Picard

Posted on 01/16/2012 6:09:29 AM PST by SeekAndFind

President Obama has mocked Martin Luther King by policies and actions that judge people by the color of their skin and not by the content of their character.

Martin Luther King, Junior's "I Have A Dream Speech" was one of his more eloquent and moving speeches. His words have resonated with all Americans for the past five decades and will do so for many decades to come. Among his dreams was an America where his four children would be judged not "by the color of their skin but by the content of their character"

Of course, he was not just referring to his own children or to children at all. He meant to heighten the disgrace of racism by picturing innocent children as the victims. What he truly meant -- as was made clear during the rest of his oration -- was that his dream was that all people would "not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

The man who campaigned on the theme that there was no "white America" or "black America" has used his powers as President to practice identity politics on a scale never before seen in America. Barack Obama has overtly chosen top officials on the basis of their skin color and not on the content of their character. Moreover, he has enacted policies that overtly favor "people of color" over "people of pallor" regardless of the merits of the individuals impacted by his programs.

What were we expecting from a man whose moral compass was the race-baiting Pastor Jeremiah Wright, whose views of white people and America would have repulsed Martin Luther King, Jr.?

According to abc and the black leadership on camera this morning... he was killed before he was able to install communism and economic justice in place of Capitalism and that they are committed to installing both... seems to me that obamao is doing the devil's work just fine.

Fine piece of writing. Thanks for posting.

The difference between the Chicago thug ideology of 0bama & "My People" Holder versus that of Martin Luther King could not be more stark.

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

"There’s clearly evidence, overwhelming evidence, that your Department of Justice refuses to protect the rights of anybody other than African Americans to vote", the Texas Republican [Culberson] said. "There's a pattern of a double standard here."
Congressional testimony regarding Eric "My People" Holder, U.S. Attorney General

It wasn’t character or ability that got Obama elected.

Read here an article where Valrie Jarrett adressed a congregation and spewed that MLK would be proud of Obama and the accomplishments he has made. Sickening.

It isn’t just Obama that mocks King’s speech and the driving passion behind it. It’s all the race baiters - Jesse Jackson, the NAACP, Emmanuel Cleaver, and on and on.

You got that right. It’s why we miss out on post 1965/66 MLK speeches.

MLK was a socialist bent on weath redistribution and reparations for discrimination and slavery. The fact he allegedly was a Republican is no matter. Most of the German officers in Lincoln’s army were Republicans and also communists who were deported from Germany for their political “activities”.

“Red Republicans” is even a book, and nothing new if you just listen to five of the remaining Presidential candidates.

How Obama Betrays Martin Luther's King's Dream

Ans: Van Jones, his trusted and valuable associate. Mr. Jones said that "2012 will be a turbulent, exciting year. It's important for us to get together and get ready."

turbulent adj. Violently agitated or disturbed; tumultuous: turbulent rapids. 2. Having a chaotic or restless character or tendency: a turbulent period in history. 3. Causing unrest or disturbance; unruly: turbulent, revolutionary undercurrents.

Or as the Van Joneses, whom MLK opposed, used to say in the 60s "Take ten!"

Or given the attacks on that 14-year-old girl in Portland, Oregon, maybe today Jones might say "Take it to the MAX!"

Note: As I recall Van Jones said that something was going to happen about a month before OWS hit the fan. He knows.

This just in: Barack Obama wins in ‘12

John Kass

January 15, 2012

As the Republican presidential candidates and their mouthpieces prattle on the TV from sunny South Carolina, I look up from the screen and out the window and sigh, a conservative heretic at rest, staring at all that cold Midwestern snow.

There’s a yellowed sketch tacked to the wall of my work space, a cowboy Ronald Reagan smiling in eternal optimism. And on a bookshelf is a dusty, dog-eared copy of Russell Kirk’s “The Conservative Mind.”

Surrounded as I am by such dry artifacts of forgotten times, I sometimes wonder why I keep them. It could be self-mockery, or something like the way an amputee decides to keep the unused boot in the closet, out of sight, but near.

And still, I can’t ditch this feeling that I might be boiled in oil for the heresy I’m about to spout:

President Barack Obama will win re-election in 2012.

The reason he’ll win?

He knows who he is. And the Republican politicians don’t know who they are. They’ve forgotten what they’re about, or perhaps like some isolated tribe, they’ve lost the language necessary to explain it to themselves.

Their voters know this and don’t really believe them anymore.

And that’s why Obama will win.

And the Republican establishment that seeks to unseat him?

Their guy Mitt Romney calls himself a conservative. But he’s really a John Kerry in Republican clothing, right down to the phony laugh, and his past flips and flops will haunt him in defeat.

Because Obama is obsessed with benefits based on skin color and minority status, and doesn’t give a damn about the content of one’s character.

Yeah, because capitalism and justice were working sooooo well for Black people back in that time.

Idiot.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but...

Speaking of "My People" Holder - has anyone seen that commercial about a new show premiering on January 18th on One TV called "Find Our Missing" to be hosted by S. Epatha Merkerson of Law & Order fame?

I saw the commercial a couple of times last night on TNT during the broadcast of Law Abiding Citizen. I wasn't paying much attention to it until I this pearl of a quote from Ms. Merkerson that made my ears perk up:

"The truth is we don't hear much about our people when they go missing. That is, until now."

Obviously this new show revolves around missing black children whose stories apparently do not receive enough media attention. The jist of the commercial (IMHO) is that this new series will remedy that oversight.

Here is the commercial if you are interested.

Again, not trying to hijack the thread, just saw "My People" which made me remember the commercial.
