NEWT EX-WIFE UNLOADS ON CAMERA; NETWORK DEBATES 'ETHICS' OF AIRING BEFORE SC PRIMARY

**Exclusive** Wed Jan 18 2012 18:47:14 ET

Marianne Gingrich has said she could end her ex-husband's career with a single interview.

Earlier this week, she sat before ABCNEWS cameras, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

She spoke to ABCNEWS reporter Brian Ross for two hours, and her explosive revelations are set to rock the trail.

But now a "civil war" has erupted inside of the network, an insider claims, on exactly when the confession will air!

MORE

ABCNEWS suits determined it would be "unethical" to run the Marianne Gingrich interview so close to the South Carolina Primary, a curious decision, one insider argued, since the network has aggressively been reporting on other candidates.

A decision was tentatively made to air the interview next Monday, after all votes have been counted.

Gingrich canceled a press conference on Wednesday to deal with the matter.

"He believes that what he says in public and how he lives don't have to be connected," Marianne Gingrich, Newt's wife of 18 years, explained to ESQUIRE last year.

Developing...

UPDATE: The AP reports ABC is now likely to air the segment Thursday on NIGHTLINE.

For a network to debate ethics assumes that said network has ethics to begin with—FAIL!

” NETWORK DEBATES ‘ETHICS’ OF AIRING BEFORE SC PRIMARY “

Oddly enough, they have no problem ‘leaking’ non-stop innuendos about the interview...

(Which, when/if it airs, will in all probablility turn out to be “No there, there”...)

The question on everyone’s mind: Will Gloria Alred be seated beside this bitter woman during the interview? Newt has made some poor decisions in his personal life - nothing new here but a woman PO’d that she missed her shot at First Lady. They just want to trot it out center stage again. She has given interviews in the past, after this many years new “revelations” are BS and theatre.

The main problem with Newt Gingrich is he is a walking bimbo eruption. If this does not come out now, it will come out if he becomes the eventual nominee. If you don't beleive it, just google "Jack Ryan", Obama's first U.S. Senate opponent. Ryan's past was pristine compared to Newt.

Newt is a splendid debater, a great idea man and the smartest guy in the room. But he can best serve the cause by offering to debate coach, generate great ideas and write speeches for Rick Santorum. Or even Rick Perry.

In the immortal words of Congreve, “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.”

Hopefully, the American people are smart enough to judge Newt by the dictum of Robert Evans: “There are two sides to every story — yours, mine, and the truth.”

Translated from LibSpeak
The interview either has nothing new, makes his ex-wife look like a loon, makes Newt look sympathetic or a combination of all three. If it was a campaign ender they would be running it non stop on every channel. The fact that they are dropping innuendo without the actual interview says it isn't as bad as they are making out.

This is “the other woman” who is making the allegations. I guess Snow White here forgets her own history. It’s clear that Newt, unlike the left isn’t jumping into a bidding war for her silence.
How likely is it that anything she says is based on provable fact?

The only question here is it the gambit of Always Been Communist to stunt Newt and save Romney or is it to put out unsubstantiated lies that can be later amplified as truths in case Newt wins the Nomination?

I’m really looking to that Tony Rezko expose on Hussein; just like the Bill Ayers appointment or the Valerie Jarrett slumlord story.

They’re so so worried about the ethics of telling us this.

But they’ve told us they did an interview with his ex-wife.
They told us it’s very very bad.
And if our imaginations make it 10X worse than the actual interview then who can blame these moral giants at ABC?

This has a good chance of backfiring.

We gals already know Newt's a cad. He's still ABO.

His wives are ALL unsympathetic. The first was a cradle-robbing teacher, the second a homewrecker, the third also a homewrecker but so plastic that she's painful to look at...

Who's to like? Who's to have any sympathy for?

Newt's still ABO. Heaven help us, and I'd love to wring the necks of the GOP insiders that brought us to this crossroads!!!

How likely is it that anything she says is based on provable fact?

Most of the interview will likely be old facts, and her own interpretations of them. However, I figure her biggest points will probably be:

1) Newt quits his wives when they no longer look like Barbie Dolls, how can you be certain he won’t just quit working hard in the oval office when the pressure is on him, or things don’t run his way.

2) Newt can’t be honest with his own wife, while he holds a position of power, or a position of power is his highest moral liability, why give him the situation that tempts him to do bad, why not retire from politics?

Again, these are the two points I see Marianne Gingrich making. Again, it’s also the problem with ex-wives too. If someone divorces you, that makes them an unquestionable expert on your character, at least in the eyes of the MSM.

This debate about “ethics” is all posturing. This will backfire on the left. “He who is without sin......”

Many have Ex’s who have old “stories”. What is more telling is what he has done with his life since.

Now that Perry is throwing in the towel, Newt will get a boost. He's the only one with intestinal fortitude who can change this mess we're in.

He's not perfect, the last one who was...was crucified.

They took out Ryan in Ill. with some marriage crap. Next up they destroyed Cain with some bimbo stuff...now onto Newt. Same old playbook and it always works, for them so why let it go.

Here we are a small audiance. As such, our opinions are pretty much the same but not widely read...a prime time interview on ABC could have devastating affects on Newt’s campaign because the mindless out in TV land will just go with the story as edited by the ministers of propaganda at ABC.

I thought news organizations were supposed to report the news - not decide the ethics of reporting the news.
It’s not their job to decide when or if something newsworthy gets reported - just whether the news is real and substantiated.
Guess these media “kingmakers” have to huddle and confer about how to best spin this to help out Obumo down the road.

One of the things that doesn’t get mentioned much in discussions about Gringrich’s marriages, is that he has had a major religious conversion, and since that time he seems to be walking a different path.

George W. Bush was a party boy and a drunk before he found religion, and it changed his life.

Gingrich became a Catholic and seems to have righted his life in this area. The question that we should be asking is whether he has continued to stay on that “right path” since his religious conversion, not dwell on what he did before.

Of course, a lot of people don’t believe religion can change your life. But, I happen to believe it can, and I’m happy to see someone put their past behind them and turn over a new leaf.

Ya gotta hand it to the left. They do stick together. Anything true or untrue so long as it advances their liberal causes.
Conservatives on the other hand naively look for truth and rationality. Then we leave it to the cretins in the Repub party to package and market the dullest mediocre puppet they think will appease the masses.
I don’t think we’ve ever been closer to needing a third party.

If you want to know just how despicable Newt’s behavior is with women in his life (not just his ex-wives) go to the link for the Equire article and read the whole interview. You will be shocked and astounded. It’s not only what ex-wife No. 2 said, it is what other women said also, as well as Marianne. Newt’s track record is astounding. The only thing that has slowed him down now is that he got old.

Below is an excerpt from Marianne Gingrich (wife No. 2) and others interviews with Esquire Magazine, with a link provided in the middle of the excerpt and at the end:

“She sounds proud, defiant, maybe a little wistful. You might be inclined to think of what she says as the lament of an abandoned wife, but that would be a mistake. There is shockingly little bitterness in her, and she often speaks with great kindness of her former husband. She still believes in his politics. She supports the Tea Parties. She still uses the name Marianne Gingrich instead of going back to Ginther, her maiden name.

But there was something strange and needy about him. “He was impressed easily by position, status, money,” she says. “He grew up poor and always wanted to be somebody, to make a difference, to prove himself, you know. He has to be historic to justify his life.”

She says she should have seen the red flags. “He asked me to marry him way too early. And he wasn’t divorced yet. I should have known there was a problem.”

Within weeks or months?

“Within weeks.”

That’s flattering.

She looks skeptical. “It’s not so much a compliment to me. It tells you a little bit about him.”

And he did the same thing to her eighteen years later, with Callista Bisek, the young congressional aide who became his third wife. “I know. I asked him. He’d already asked her to marry him before he asked me for a divorce. Before he even asked.”

He told you that?

“Yeah, he wanted to — “

... The next day, Gingrich called Marianne into his office and told her he had come to a decision. He was going to step down as Speaker. And resign from Congress, too, though he had just won another term. Later that week, on a conference call with a few party confidants, Gingrich said, “I’m willing to lead but I’m not willing to preside over people who are cannibals... . Frankly, Marianne and I could use a break.” His political career was over.

In the history books Gingrich loves, exile is a defining moment when a leader’s true strength of character is revealed. But his own behavior just became more erratic in the months after his fall. Some days he was full of bravado, conspiring with Duberstein and Marianne on a five-year plan to restore his reputation and rebuild his power base so he could run for president someday. He even turned down an American Express commercial that would have paid $500,000, Marianne says, because acting in a commercial didn’t have sufficient gravitas for a man of his once and future stature. And he got some good news from the IRS, which said his college course didn’t violate the tax laws after all.

But other days, Gingrich was bleak and hopeless. He was like a “dead weight” at times like that, Marianne says. You just couldn’t get him to move. The contrast reminded her of his mother and her manic depression, and she told him he needed help.

But Marianne was having problems of her own. After going to the doctor for a mysterious tingling in her hand, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

Early in May, she went out to Ohio for her mother’s birthday. A day and a half went by and Newt didn’t return her calls, which was strange. They always talked every day, often ten times a day, so she was frantic by the time he called to say he needed to talk to her.

“About what?”

He wanted to talk in person, he said.

“I said, ‘No, we need to talk now.’ “

He went quiet.

“There’s somebody else, isn’t there?”

She kind of guessed it, of course. Women usually do. But did she know the woman was in her apartment, eating off her plates, sleeping in her bed?

She called a minister they both trusted. He came over to the house the next day and worked with them the whole weekend, but Gingrich just kept saying she was a Jaguar and all he wanted was a Chevrolet. “ ‘I can’t handle a Jaguar right now.’ He said that many times. ‘All I want is a Chevrolet.’ “

He asked her to just tolerate the affair, an offer she refused.

He’d just returned from Erie, Pennsylvania, where he’d given a speech full of high sentiments about compassion and family values.

The next night, they sat talking out on their back patio in Georgia. She said, “How do you give that speech and do what you’re doing?”

“It doesn’t matter what I do,” he answered. “People need to hear what I have to say. There’s no one else who can say what I can say. It doesn’t matter what I live.”

When they got to court, Gingrich refused to cooperate with basic discovery. Marianne and her lawyer knew from a Washington Post gossip column that Gingrich had bought Bisek a $450 bottle of wine, for example, but he refused to provide receipts or answer any other questions about their relationship.

Then Gingrich made a baffling move. Because Bisek had refused to be deposed by Marianne’s attorney, Newt had his own attorney depose her, after which the attorney held a press conference and announced that she had confessed to a six-year affair with Gingrich. He had also told the press that he and Marianne had an understanding.

“Right,” Marianne says now.

That was not true?

“Of course not. It’s silly.”

Honestly, I actually believe that this is what Newt wanted and probably put to his wife. Separated, with a demanding political job, he offered her the status of “wife” in exchange for Calista on the side (personally, UGH!).

I recall him explaining his pecadillos re: Calista as “Having loved his country sooooo much, that he was forced to....blah blah blah” [paraphrased]

This is arrogance; and it isn’t the last of what the Democrat machine has in store for him if he gets the GOP nod. Nancy WILL release every piece of dirt, innuendo and supposition regardless of House rules. If Newt did this twice (cheated), it is better than even odds he’s done it more times than that.
