AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, serving humanity simply by showing up, and he’s not retiring until every American agrees with him, do NOT doubt him, with shrieks of joy at the mere mention of his name (that’s Rush, for those in Rio Linda),the Mandarin of Talk Radio, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back — just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, all-concerned Maha-Rushie! America’s anchorman, truth detector, and doctor of democracy. A Real Man, a living legend, a way of life. Commander in Chief of U.S. Operation Chaos. Chief Waga-Waga El Rushbo of the El Conservo Tribe. Chief of the Patriotism Police. Leader of the Conservative Movement. A Weapon of Mass Instruction. El Rushbo (a little Spanish lingo, there). He is the man who is running America (you know it and I know it). He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to do—that’s host. Get ready to what you were born to do—that’s listen (and post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread).

[ Obama’s reelection campaign strongly denied it discouraged potential primary candidates. In response to the campaign’s comments, Nader said that it wasn’t necessarily an official effort, but certainly came from people with close ties to the White House and Obama’s bid for second term. ]

Axelrod’s fingerprints all over this one.

“…Cathy Zoi, CEO of Gore’s Palo Alto-based Alliance for Climate Protection, said the ad reminds people that climate change is not a partisan issue. ‘By bringing together top Republicans and Democrats, we are demonstrating both to the American public and to lawmakers that we can and must overcome partisan differences to solve the climate crisis,’ she said.” (Zachary Coile, “Pelosi, Gingrich team up for global warming TV ad,” San Francisco Chronicle, blog.sfgate.com, 4/18/2008)

Gingrich’s appearance with Pelosi in the 2008 Al Gore ad built on his “debate” with John Kerry the year before where he essentially agreed with Democrats’ assumptions about global warming. “Gingrich said he accepts there is a general consensus among scientists that Earth has gotten warmer over the last century and that humans have contributed to that problem, conceding that his views might not find favor with some of his fellow conservatives.” (Bob Franken, “Gingrich vs. Kerry: Shoot-out at the climate change corral,” www.cnn.com, 4/10/2007)

Romney echoed Gingrich on the theory of man-made global warming as recently as June 2011: “[…] I believe the world is getting warmer. I can’t prove that, but I believe based on what I read that the world is getting warmer. And number two, I believe that humans contribute to that. I don’t know how much our contribution is to that, because I know there have been periods of greater heat and warmth in the past, but I believe that we contribute to that. So I think it’s important for us to reduce our emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases that may well be significant contributors to the climate change and the global warming that you’re seeing.” (“Mitt Romney’s views on climate change have changed, says DNC,” PolitiFact.com, 11/28/2011)

Gingrich, despite recent opposition to cap-and-trade, has a record of proposing new regulation on economic activity due to his belief in the theory of man-made global warming.“In 1989, Gingrich co-sponsored the Global Warming Prevention Act […]. Gingrich also once advocated imposed mandatory limits on carbon dioxide emissions, but has recently become a vocal critic of the cap-and-trade bills.” (Huma Khan, “Newt Gingrich Had Lucrative Health Industry Ties,” ABC News,abcnews.go.com, 11/18/2011)

Romney also now officially opposes a cap-and-trade scheme, but his record as Massachusetts governor includes unprecedented restrictions on carbon emissions. “Mr. Romney joined activists outside an aging, coal-fired plant in 2003 to show his commitment to the emissions caps. ‘I will not create jobs or hold jobs that kill people, and that plant, that plant kills people,’ he said.

“On Dec. 7, 2005, the Romney administration unveiled the final orders. ‘These carbon emission limits will provide real and immediate progress in the battle to improve our environment,’ then-Gov. Romney said in a press release touting Massachusetts as ‘the first and only state to set CO2 emissions limits on power plants.’” (Jonathan Weisman, “Romney Environment Push Is Fresh Target for His Rivals,” The Wall Street Journal, online.wsj.com, 10/6/2011)

If you want to get really mad (and sick) read McCain’s opposition research on Romney that just got leaked the last day or so. The GOP elites ought to be run out of the country on a rail for even considering much less ‘annointing’ him as the nominee. It is a crime the equivalent of Obamacare being crammed down America’s throat with tricks and gimmicks by Congress - actually it is almost worse because I think Obama will eviscerate him & we will be subjected to 4 more years of The Destroyer. I don’t see Romney being able to defend himself either intellectually or in his physical demeanor when confronted - he looks weak, like a cornered rat. I am really, really P.O.’d - I pretty much knew this stuff about Romney anyway, but when you see the scope and breadth of it in print, well .... further words fail me

i did not know that maryanne was cheating with noot when he was married to his first wife

Something that women should know but never seem to learn:

"Honey, if he was cheating on his wife with you, he'll cheat on you with someone else." Just one of those immutable laws of adultery physics.

It’s beginning to look like the Iowa caucus was a fraud through and through. It appears that it was an effort to make sure that Romney came out on top, even if it meant that 8 precincts mysteriously couldn’t report their numbers. So my guess is that the 8 precincts showed Santorum out handily in front of Romney.

I’m saying Huntsman got 3rd place in New Hampshire, that alone should have mad it want to tough it out a little longer unless he had other motives, which he should be questioned on every time he shows up somewhere till he gives a valid answer.

I’d vote for Newt for the sole purpose of keeping the media (on the top ten list of ‘the enemy from within’) from fragging yet another of our candidates.
