Im told reliably that Governor Perry will head up a 10th Amendment project for Speaker Gingrich to rally Governors and state legislators toward a plan of devolving power from Washington. This project will include helping shape the Republican platform for the general election.
Governor Perry will also campaign for Speaker Gingrich in Texas.
THANK YOU, Texas (155 delegates) & Gov Perry!
GO NEWT!!!
Speaker Gingrich-led Republicans
.the result: * Voting on each of the Contract with America items * Four consecutive balanced budgets * Over $400 billion of debt paid off * Major welfare reform accomplished * 11 million new jobs for America * Unemployment falling to under 4%.
BTTT for Newt!
THANK YOU GOVERNOR PERRY!!!!!!!!!!
GO NEWT!!!!!!!
NEWT! NEWT! NEWT! NEWT! NEWT! NEWT! NEWT! NEWT! NEWT! NEWT! NEWT! NEWT! NEWT! NEWT! NEWT! NEWT! NEWT!
“I was on a flight and landed to over 100 voicemails and over 1000 emails. Rick Perry is dropping out of the race.
Sources close to both campaigns tell me that the Governor and Speaker have spoken and Governor Perry will endorse Newt Gingrich. But it will go beyond that.
Im told reliably that Governor Perry will head up a 10th Amendment project for Speaker Gingrich to rally Governors and state legislators toward a plan of devolving power from Washington. This project will include helping shape the Republican platform for the general election, something small government conservatives have been concerned about.
Governor Perry will also campaign for Speaker Gingrich in Texas. Texas has more than enough delegates at 155 (and they are winner take all they are proportional) to offset Newt Gingrich not being on the Virginia ballot, which only has 49 delegates.
Looks like we have a race now”
Warm hugs to all Perry people here.
I bet Mitt has a bad hair day today.
TO ALL RICK PERRY SUPPORTERS-THIS IS GOING TO BE EXCITING!!!!!!!
Excellent!

Depending on the intensity with which they will pursue this and the overall scale they are considering, this is a long overdue, and highly welcome sea change in our national direction.
Big stuff.
This is pretty big. Many people liked Perry but were afraid of him debating with Obama. They like his ideas and his character, so him backing Newt will help ease their minds for Newt.
Also in Virginia we’ll all need to vote for Ron Paul so that Romney doesn’t get the delegates. And it may help keep Paul from running 3rd party.
Go, Newt!!!!
Thank you, Governor Perry!!!!
The more I get to know Perry, the more I love that guy. It is good he is staying in Texas, though. You need him there.
gotta love pols...calling each other scum one minute...loving the next
Drudge must be having a sore keister day...he is in full anti Newt mode like I have never seen...this Perry dropout must be killing him.
What a small man he has turned out to be.
Thinking with his fecal orifice rather than his admittedly reasonable brain.
Yet another propagandist.
Prepare for the powers that be to pull out all stops to fight this now. This is what you call putting fear into the establishment big time!!!!!
lol...you loved him bout five minutes after he dropped out i suspect..
I find it funny that the Newt supporters are singing the praises of Perry now when as little as a yesterday, most were calling him a loser and a bum. The guy looks like a class act to me. I think a good number of you Newters owe Perry supporters an apology for some of the vitriol and venom that was directed towards Perry supporters.
bttt
Yep! I’m all-in for Newt. I’ll do my grieving over Rick Perry with a smile in my heart and sweet revenge on my mind. Watch out, Mitt, you’re in my sights. It ain’t someplace you wanna be, bub.
I used to drop by the drudge report almost every day.
No more. His carrying Willard’s water is just to much.
PS Willard is MittCare Romney for those who don’t know.
Yayy!!! And I just got a phone call from my 2L daughter in law school that she landed a summer associate job offer - not easy these days of extreme competition -
I have been overdue for some good news so I am very pleased about the Perry endorsement!!! Perry will go on to be a real asset for the republicans...
I held my nose and voted for McCain because I knew what a disaster Obama and a supermajority Dem House and Senate would be while you folks whined, pissed and moaned and sat it out thus letting the worst happen.
I won’t be holding my nose this time around. It is your turn to hold your noses.
When election day comes for the first time in my life I will not be voting for anyone for President. Because in the end it will be either Romney or Obama. They are the same poison-one will just kill off the country faster then the other. If you think that Gingrich will last another 90 days you are sorely mistaken-the man has a closet full of skeletons and the MSM is going to drag them all out one by one.
He’s got his head up Ann Coulters backside.
That is the beauty of all of this! Rick Perry is not gone. HE HAS ONLY JUST BEGUN TO FIGHT!!!!! WHOOHOO!!!!
“gotta love pols...calling each other scum one minute...loving the next”
Hell, we wouldn’t be Americans if we didn’t!
Gov. Perry throws his support behind Gingrich... Good.
Rumors that Perry “will head up a 10th Amendment project for Speaker Gingrich to rally Governors and state legislators toward a plan of devolving power from Washington”... AWESOME if true.
Time to DERAIL THE ROMNEY TRAIN.
Santorum supporters need to understand that his excellent pro-life views are really the only thing he has going for him. Abortion is huge, but America is facing a Clear and Present Danger that Santorum doesn’t appear ready or able to face.
Congrats indeed. That is great news.
I wasn’t comfortable with Perry as President, but always thought he should have a prominent role in the Gingrich administration. I could see him as a great Secretary of Defense. That is an area of expertise he has always known well and loved.
As long as I am wishing, Herman Cain would be a great Treasury Secretary or head of the Fed. He would clean house!
People should do what they are best at and serve with their own special gifts. I am grateful to Governor Perry for going for the 10th Amendment. It is vitally important work.
Thank you Lord. Let’s hope this is the turnaround we have been looking for.
May God grant us strength and wisdom.
Tatt
Perry is a good man who did the right thing, and I hope we have not heard the last of him on the national scene. He learned a lot and really found his stride in the past month or so, but there can only be one nominee.
Texans are fortunate to have a man like Perry as Governor. (Wanna trade?)
Now it’s time for Santorum to consider his options.
but, but, but......Perry is nothing but a stalking-horse for Romney.
Hopefully, this will put that idiocy to rest.....maybe.
Classy move by the guy I feel has the best plan to truly resore limited government.
Newt Ping!
Thank you, Captain Perry! This heroic move will not be forgotten by folks like me, ever!
:-)
I wouldn’t be so down on Drudge. I think he forced ABCs hand on this ex-wife thing by leaking it beforehand. Anyone who believes that ABC News was truly having an “ethical debate” about running the interview is terminally naive. The only debate they had was over WHEN to run it in order to damage Newt the most.
Ping!
I’ll believe that Newt Gingrich is a serious candidate if he has Marianne Gingrich’s endorsement. One thing I do think though is that if Callista Gingrich ever becomes First Lady that she’ll definitely need prayers for good health. Things haven’t turned out well for the fairytale weddings of Mrs. Gingrich’s past who have health problems.
I am a big Perry supporter and am disappointed that not enough people would vote for him. Perry has proven to be a conservative based on his record of governing. Do not be satisfied with what a candidate has to say, you need to also look at how they have governed once in office. I am OK with Perry endorsing Newt although Newt needs to make amends for his brief flirtation with liberalism (ie, Dede Scozzafova and the global warming junk science, etc). Newt carries a lot of baggage and will need our help in defeating the Marxist pig Obama.
Just saw it! Woo-hoo!
RuPaul....Mitt Commie.... YOU’RE NEXT!!
Perry for President 2020!
Thank you Governor Perry!
Go Newt!
Governor Perry called Newt a “conservative visionary.” Perry also said he believes in redemption. GOD BLESS PERRY. The good governor will continue to lead the staHte of Texas in battling the Obama administration.
Daddy Bush would not endorse Perry or Newt...he went with Romney. If Newt wins the nomination..payback will be hell.
Hooray for Perry.
This plus the personal attacks on Gingrich driving the Cain supporters into his camp will bode well for Gingrich in South Carolina.
It is the Cain supporters that owe Perry an apology. Blaming Perry for leaks on the sexual allegations. The Cain folks have been bitter and nasty to the Newt folks and the Perry folks.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NEWT!
YES! GOOOOOOD NEWS! GO NEWT!
Now with Santorum at 11%, He needs to put the country first and do the same.
Perry did the right thing, and I respect him for it.
The momembt I saw those allegations against Cain, I knew it was Romney.
It’s the same with this ABC hit piece with the bitter ex-wife -— reeks of Romney.
Sounds good at the surface but there is a giant fly in the ointment. The 17th Amendment allows the direct election of senators rather than them being appointed by the governor/state legislature. This is where the 10th Amendment and the concept of State's Rights was lost.
Without repealing the 17th Amendment, there isn't that much that various governors can do to restore the 10th Amendment and State's Rights. As long as senators were appointed by the governor/state legislature, state's rights were protected as was the 10th Amendment. When the 17th Amendment was passed, the allegiance of the senators shifted from their state to the VOTERS of their state. They were no longer beholden to the governor/state legislature for their position, they were now beholden to the voters of the state.
Since most voters pay little attention to what goes on in Washington, the senators were able to engage in whatever mischief they chose. Thus, we have the situation in Washington that we have today. The inmates have been allowed to run the asylum for way too long and putting this particular genie back in the bottle will be a particularly difficult task.
However, better late than never.
Bad news for you Romneybots, huh?
Paul has my silent vote in the VA primary, but I won’t go as far as a bumper sticker or yard sign.
You’re a pathetic naysayer. Good luck to you.
I doubt it was Romney (the hit piece on Newt). More likely ABC news contacted Marianne and Mitt had nothing to do with it.
Not sure what to make of the Cain hits.
